Me too, which is my point.  It was never about the baby to me, but the fact that she was conceived while his wife battled cancer and he denied her. He denied his baby daughter and she will know that. It's despicable.  I feel character should matter, but all I care about are results right now. Well, not all. I do have limits, but they aren't what they used to be.

I meant to post this earlier but didn't have the time, then got wrapped up in so many other things.

This article is somewhat interesting because it discusses the fact that the U.S.' lack of engagement under Trump has changed how other countries are structuring their trade deals compared to when Obama was President.

Europe and Japan Near Trade Deal as U.S. Takes Protectionist Path

Although there are big trade deals underfoot involving Asian countries like Japan and China with the EU, they seem to be ignoring issues like environmental and worker protections.

During the Obama administration, trade deals seemed to be structured to add protections against things like over-fishing, tightening up lax standards in the timber industry and implementing rules against exploitation of factory workers with the countries that the U.S. was entering into trade agreements with.  And as a result other countries seemed to do likewise.

The implication is that now that the Trump administration has show indifference toward things like human rights, environmental standards, other countries have also backed off pursuing some type of standards for these things in formulating their trade agreements.

So now the 'virtuous cycle' in trade deals seems to have dissipated after the departure of the Obama administration, for the time being.

So much for Europe showing us who's boss in protecting the environment.

There have been so many insane things going on that people never really had time to laugh at just how ludicrous him being in the peace process was. I actually didn't even think he would have any meetings with them and it was just fake job title. Clearly he would have been better off keeping it fake.

    • They're neither great nor terrible AFAIK, but it is more a question of the streaming numbers in this day and age vs. actual TV airings. The Chibnall era reminded me much more of the crisis years, but I do think it's a very real possibility now as well due to the streaming bubble collapse affecting the show and its prospects.
    • ANYTHING to get her off the screen..she COULD have been interesting if she and Van had a few face offs..(there was a mild one of her going back to work...but I wanted something meatier "Bitch, I am Vanessa Chamberlain and I don't take advice from someone who followed the..career path you did!" I did like Alex's outright disdain for her.
    • Thanks @Vee for the commentary.    I haven’t even watched this season yet after  I couldn’t get past the couple episodes last season…like it was too Disneyified for my taste, although I did think it was a least better than the Chibnall era (but so is a lot of things). I’ll probably go back and binge it now. Hoping this season ends on a high note. I did read the ratings are terrible. As it stands I’m beginning to feel like what long time DW fans felt with S26 in 1989.
    • Yes, they are all on contract. Next.
    • I also never understood Alex's friendship with Sonni or keeping the secret of Marah's paternity.  Not exactly heartbroken about Ms. Sally being ushered to the Hereafter.

I'm sorry but I'm a glutton for punishment. Would love to see this woman OWNING the canvas. Telling off Leslie who tells her she's the head b!tch.
    • And in case anyone is confused; Rusty was hired by HB to work undercover and infiltrate some gang sabotaging Lewis.
