I never knew there was a comic strip. Guess it didn't make it to my hometown newspaper. Thanks for posting @DRW50.

Neither did I. From the comments, it was later published in full by Pomegranate Press. I looked it up and there's a 1996 release titled Dark Shadows Comic Strip Book.

I've been watching some of the wrapup of the Leviathan storyline. I'd forgotten just how much is devoted to setting up Parallel Time, with so many characters getting involved to look at the empty room (that empty room is one of the more quietly chilling aspects of the show).

Roger is his most active for years in this period - a shame that this is Louis Edmonds' final appearance in the role.

Sometimes I think I'm too hard on Geoffrey Scott because of his work on GL, but no, he's still bad here. At least Sky helps lead to the Angelique return and revival which helps make the last weeks of the story more compelling (if only she'd learned about Parallel Time).

I remember that Dark Shadows book which came out in the early '90s saying PT didn't help the show in the long term in spite of some initial ratings success because it was too confusing. I don't think that's the case. I think, in spite of a great idea and some great performances and moments, the central story with Angelique, Maggie and Quentin just isn't compelling. This is by far the weakest KLS role (even weaker than Rachel Drummond) and the most one-note of any Angelique material.

I still wonder what story Chris would have had if poor beautiful Don Briscoe hadn't left. Maybe he would have fallen for Sabrina and been killed by Cyrus.

(the at times ludicrous, at times deeply disturbing Cyrus story quietly carried that timeline)

I don't think the concept was what confused viewers, it was the fact that the pacing went by too fast that if you missed a few episodes.. you'd be lost.

It's a shame that the show and Moltke couldn't work out a way to return because I think a PT Victoria Winters would have been an interesting avenue to explore. She stated she wanted a more interesting character to play and she could have been a Victoria with a bit more bite to her.

I also think the main performers being off filming House of Dark Shadows kind of hurt the show although the Cyrus story was interesting and a unique way to carry the show forward. It offered something new and also gave the actress paying Sabrina something more interesting to play in this realm vs the more subdued Sabrina in regular time.

Oddly I liked Lara's Alexis character and I like the mystery over whether she was Anglique or if she was really Angelique the first few weeks.. but once Angelique comes back, the story kind of flatlines.

Roxanne seemed to be yet another attempt at the show trying to fill the void of Victoria Winters. It wasn't until Kate Jackson that there was someone strong enough to fill that void.

I can see where the pacing might seem brisk, but when I'd watch I also felt like not much was happening. Maybe the combo is what alienated viewers.

I would have loved seeing Moltke in this story. I would have put her in the Angelique role for this story. I know that would have cost us Lara Parker but they could have easily had the real Angelique cross over to "save" Barnabas, as Julia did. Maybe even have her as some brain dead schemer in PT and then the real Angelique kills her, saying to the camera, "There is only ONE Angelique."

I liked Donna Wandrey, but Roxanne was so vapid, never given a chance to be an actual character. The only chance Donna gets is her brief run in 1840.

Kate Jackson is a big what might have been for me as I just didn't connect with her stories on the show (it didn't help that she was in the shadow of the divine Virginia Vestoff [who blew her and many others off the screen] and Lara Parker - she did manage to get in some good work as a dying Daphne in 1841 PT).
