After 37 years, does anyone recall why Ashley's baby was considered such a miracle?  I think this was Pam Long's character, and I seem to recall that she took an on-screen break prior to the finale, and then there was some other kid who foretold her return at Christmas.  But it would be great if someone could fill in the blanks.  Also, what happens to Dennis's girlfriend Paige after Dennis and Elliott leave town?  I'm spotty remembering the story post-Iris.

Paige got involved with TJ Canfield who years earlier had been involved with Ashley. In time, she became an alcoholic and accidentally burned down the Marshall home. A few weeks later, there was a flood and Ashley's car was swept away and she was believed to be dead. I think it was more so Ashley's return that was the miracle, not the birth of Katherine Paige. Gregory, who was Ashley's son by TJ, was certain Ashley would return and so she did at Christmas, carried in the arms of the angel Seth.

Paige really got the stuffing kicked out her in Houston.  She was an early victim of resting-b-face because her bark was much worse than her bite.  Her only crime was social climbing and in return, her porn past was outed, her fiancee and his father both went a little nuts over her, and then she drank and caused a fire.

Just Men was on at 12 PM when many affiliates preempt network programming for news.  It did, however, win Betty White a Daytime Emmy for Best Game Show Host.

I saw bits and pieces of it on YT, and it's not hard to see why it was cancelled so fast. Even Betty couldn't save it. She was still a couple of years away from The Golden Girls, and had yet to reach that next big pinnacle of her career.

I loved Paige. She was such a great character compared to her drippy sisters Courtney and Dawn. Lisby Larson had incredible chemistry with Daniel Davis as Eliot. It was disappointing that they aborted the Paige/Eliot pairing so quickly.

TPTB must have agreed with you because Lisby Larson was still there at the end, and Catherine Hickland and Dana Kimmel weren't.

I thought it was weird that they never really showed the siblings interact with each other.  Courtney was on the show for month I think before she even showed up at the Marshall farm.  Dawn and Paiges fued over Dennis was almost like two long lost enemies.  I come from a big family and see weird things but they were all young people and just so disconnected.  

Angel Seth was played by veteran Broadway and TV actor Jay O. Sanders.

Thanks for the link! I loved the characters of Ruby and Reena as a kid. I was 8 when this originally aired. I remember the characters/actors more than any real story line.

Were the Marshall's estranged as a family?
