Thanks for sharing. The triangle that never was ends in a way no one predicted.

With Knots I'd say it's down to most of them having been in the industry for a long time before the show, but I know that isn't always the case.

I'm sure when some long running shows end the cast never see each other again.

With Knots does that comradeship extend to all the cast? Or are there some out of the loop, and others only in touch with particular castmates?

In the recent Kim Lankford interview she mentioned not really seeing the cast since she left the show.

We do know Kevin Dobson, Ted Shackelford, Donna Mills, Michele Lee and Joan Van Ark seem to be the cloest. Dobson of course has passed away and we never see or hear about Ted which makes me worry about how he may be doing. Joan and Constance remained close with Julie Harris until her death. I know Constance is close with Michele, William Devane and John Pleshette. Claudia Lonow and Michele Lee have remained close and I remember Lonow included Lee on her ABC sitcom How To Live With Your Parents.

The Knots and Dallas casts feel like they've done a lot to stay in touch compared to some of the primetime soaps. You definitely didn't have that on Dynasty or Falcon Crest.

-The Podcast: I did enjoy Donna being Transparent about her feelings when the show put her up against Nicolette.

What a find. All ICONS IMO. Connie and Willam seem to hang out a lot. I see pics of them floating on social every 6 months LOL.

I haven't listened to the podcast yet.  What did DM say?  Did she express resentment or concern about that?

No, I didn't think so. I believe it was a sensitive situation for her at that time; being an aging actress and probably having similar things happen in her life.

Michelle asks if she has ever been jealous of another actor on Knots, Donna says No; but thought it was sorta unfair to be put into competition with someone half her age. They agreed with her too!

Kind of gives a new perspective when watching this scene

Also, who knew Abby was such a liberal that she thought about intersectionality?

The thing is...Linda kinda made a good point.

Sorry to hear of Lincoln's passing.  May she RIP.

As do I.  I always thought it was ridiculous seeing Abby spar with Paige.  Just as I always thought it was ridiculous seeing AMC's Erica Kane spar with women who were young enough to be her daughter.

Surprising to hear about Lar Park Lincoln, she was awfully young. Like soap fans, the horror world never forgets; she was always royalty there. It's been especially gratifying for me this last decade to see so many daytime stars from cancelled soaps embraced by the horror fandom who remember their early work after their soap careers have largely ended, but Lincoln was ahead of the curve. I look forward to seeing her Knots run in time, which seems a world away from her mousy Carrie-esque character in Friday the 13th.

@Vee  You got that right! I actually learned of her death via a good friend of mine who is a huge horror movie fanatic on his Facebook with pictures he had taken with her at a couple different conventions over the years.

Linda was one of my favorite characters of the show for its later years and it was her brutal murder that had me stop watching the show.

i definitely do remember Lincoln as Tina in Friday the 13th along with a young Kevin Spirtas, it’s been ages since I watched any of those movies though.

I was surprised she didn’t get more work in the 90’s although I don’t know why or if there was a backstory. I remember she popped up on 90210 for a brief role.

May she RIP.

    • 5-12   Well, as much as i've been enjoying the highs of BTG, I guess I should try to play catch up on my other soaps...lol.   I actually liked this episode. But I guess it could be because I felt there was a lot going on. Bill and Liam's talk. Luna attempting them inroads with Finn. Steffy comforting Hope over Liam. Sheila thanking Bill for helping Luna. Even a decent cliffhanger with Steffy walking in on Luna and Finn.   I know I said it before, but I don't care for the Liam storyline, but the acting has been good.
    • I enjoyed Santa Barbara from the beginning. Mainly because it was so fresh and different than the P&G soaps I was used to watching.  But there is no denying that it did not hit its stride until 1985. The writing, casting and production all finally came together. Unfortunately backstage drama then slowly destroyed the show and for me from 1988 onward it was a completely different show than the one I was a fan of.
    • Oh, really? That explains why the reveal episodes...the majority of which Zimmerman did the breakdowns for...hit perfectly. Cool! I really loved that. Background music and all.
    • I guess I should appreciate Clifton's devotion to his craft, but this comes off as so pretentious. Nothing about Liam's story (or B&B, for that matter) is high art.
    • To me the product placement normalizes these folks. Your bound to see household products around no matter how immaculate someone's house may be.  I was just thinking about her as Yvonne on AMC. Yeah, would love to see her.
    • There's also the soap opera conundrum: once characters get everything they want, they tend to stagnate. Nola got everything she wanted. One of the things that was really interesting about her was that tremendous need for things out of her grasp. Once that was resolved, there wasn't much left for her to play. Maybe Long could have found something to replace that, but since she wasn't created by Long, she probably preferred to focus on the needy character she created: Reva. They were still significant stockholders. They could have punched back. Vanessa forced to team with the brother she resents. I can see it working.
    • She could have easily tied them into the Cottage Mystery...(they could have easily explained going on adventures with Bea, babysitting) The house that Tony and Annabelle lived in could have been the coachhouse of the property that Qualo and Henry live in, or at the very least Nola would have been totally in on ghosts and secrets of her brother's house. But they kind of just sat around for months.  The clip of Van and Billy's impromptu wedding shows how sidelined Nola and Quint became...Nola isn't even around butting in on them getting married, its all Reva (though it is a more interesting Reva where Mindy and her or going at it and insulting each other..THAT Reva was fun.)  I loved it when those two would go at it. Somehow they could have resurrected that antogonistic relationship and not have Billy worshing at the throne of Reva.  When they brought JC back on recurring they should have had him at least warn Annie about Jeva pulling her down..."Darlin' I love my brother, but when he has ole Reva in his sites he will drop any woman to try to win her back...and then he will get bored with her...she's like booze is to me and you...he hates it but he needs it..get out while you can!"
    • It's been brought up that Empty Nest was a time slot hit. Here's Empty Nest schedule and seasonal rating in comparison to The Golden Girls. 1988/89: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1989/90: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1990/91: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 10th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 7th. 1991/92: The Golden Girls Saturday 8 pm, 30th (final season). Empty Nest Saturday 9 pm, 22nd.  1992/93: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1993/94: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1994/95: Saturday 8:30 pm then 8 pm, below the Top 30, and cancelled. Empty Nest 7 season run equaled the parent show The Golden Girls.
