So happy to see everyone else is enjoying Y&R. I have never watched a soap episode twice - bit I had to see today's episode again. i love Paul and Heather. And I wonder if all the Sabrina haters feel like Victoria does now? "She has a secret agenda...she's after his money...she's using him". I think Raya was great today. I'll miss her.

Does anyone know if Zara is coming back for the funeral?? It would be SO awkward!

^No, I'm still glad to see her dull ass bite the dust. :)

I haven't heard anything about Zara coming back.

I am too. Raya definitely did excellent work in her scenes...but the fact is those were the ONLY scenes she nailed throughout her time on the show. I am thrilled she and Vincent Irizarry are gone. Now if only they could get rid of Eyall Podell who makes me want to shoot myself.

Really, what can you say for Jess Walton? The lady earned her salary these last few days, she's been sensational with the emotional range of a machine gun on acid, I'm loving how she's finally getting the respect she deserves. Perhaps she'll be 'Hogan's Bitch' after all (take THAT Gloria, she's become more tolerable, but even less appearances would be appreciated). That being said, I must say that MAB seemed to 'get' Jill right away, so props to everyone for realizing that Jack Smith shot himself in the foot by backburning Jess and Jill.

Still only on Thursday's US episode, Canadian peeps, and you have wetted my appetite for Friday. :) Loved seeing my three faves Kay, Jill and Nikki. OK, Nikki boohooing over the horse was OTT but, hey, that's Nikki! Always one for operatic gestures. I liked the scene though because it was soapy and... well, very her.

Kay + Jill scene = sublime. That is all. And how I miss that sexy devil Eric Steinberg.

The Kay/Nikki/Jill dynamic is SO much more compelling than the Gloria/Jill one. Especially since Kay is naturally closer to Nikki than to Jill, and that is only going to add to the resentment that Jill feels. Speaking of the bug-eyed black widow, I do like JC but I'm so relieved we've only been having small doses of her this week. Gloria needs a complete break.

Emily O'Brien also did great, especially when she gave Sabrina that big-ass gold necklace. I thought it was a bicycle chain, but hey. It's the thought that counts.

Paul is SO high in himself. "Hey, everybody! I solved the David Chow case!"

Heather: "You did? Impressive."

Paul: "Learn from me, young jedi. I have much to teach you. have you heard of googling? And operating a cell phone?"

Enjoyed the whole show, even Amber's noisy weeping. Don't know if it's all Hogan's doing, though. Maria Arena Bell has been laying down the foundations for this back in February, especially Nikki, Jill and Kay's SLs. VI's days were numbered the moment Troll Marie Latham got fired.

I am pretty sure Hogan is just there to soap it up. MAB gets the char's. HS gets the drama. Together theyr eally could be a great team. We will know hoiw much power Hogan has if we start to see people screwed up worse than when LML was there...

Anyone notice all the classical background music used this week? There's been NO TRACES of college rock background music, despite who is directing. Has Griffith grown a brain and instructed the directors to revert back to classic Y&R scoring?

I've noticed that as well, Y&RWorldTurner and I love it. I hope they keep it up.....

Wow!! What a fantastic episode! The ending is really good - the last scene and the second last scene. Great cliffhanger!!

;)

While watching the episode, I just had a feeling, like I can see where the show is going. It was a great feeling. :)

It was either Hogan Sheffer or Marla Kanelos who wrote the breakdown. Sandra Weintraub wrote the dialgoue.

I've noticed that Sandra Weintraub has done more episodes than the other writers. I believe she did the 25th, 28th and now the 31st July. Her episodes have tended to be very good.

And we know that for whatever reason, Thom Racina will write three episodes in the space of a week and a half coming up. Do you think there is a new system of allocating episodes to certain writers, and do you think this will ultimately lead to a slimmer, tighter writing team?

Not that it appears to be a problem at the moment.

Woo-hoo we're close to overthrowing the OLTL thread! lol

I'm not going to go all orgasmic for Hogan yet. If its his work then I'll give him credit, but it's way too soon to make a clear verdict.

I really wish Nikki would stop blaming herself. She had no idea this would happen, and after putting up with all that emotional abuse from Victor for years, it hurts one's self-worth.

That's what she does. They split up, she meets and marries someone else, it ends in disaster, she blames herself, Victor tels her how wrong she was, she falls for it, and they get back together.

She needs to grow.......apart from Victor and everyone else, and truly become her own person.

Victor : "I told you I'd be right back. Why'd you leave me?" :(:(:(

This is one of the best episodes I've seen in awhile. Can't wait for the 2nd half.

MTS is killing me with all this OTT "acting". Tone it down, sweetie.

^^^Given the circumstances, I wouldn't call it OTT. She lost her husband, and on top of that she just found out that her husband was an assassin. Unlike Chapman, this is where I find OTT (not sure I'd even call it that) to fit in the context of the scene.
