Question: is Nelson going to post a follow-up today to yesterday's big scoop? For some reason, I thought he might and now I feel like a freak stalking his column every half-hour. I must have read wrong.

The enormity of this situation is astounding to me. Writers were fired from Days during the strike and the new HW only lasted what, six or seven months. More than one person's professional life could be over. Personal lives could be ruined. If Alison Sweeney is indeed the overbown diva and I am inclined to believe that she is, then this could be a huge black mark against her. The fines that could be levied against Days could be enormous.

They are no winners here. The producers, the actors, the crew and the fans can all be effected. Why would a network want to produce a show where there are such huge fines, etc? It could be the end for Days and a lot of people would be out of jobs. From the producers, to the actors to the makep artists. No matter who is to blame, no one wins.

^^ Same here. SFF!

JP, I would love to see you HW a soap! Actually, I would love to be a fly on the wall as you instruct your minions to make Maggie the new female lead of Days.

Ha, you know i would.

Suzanne Rogers belongs front and center.

And some people keep talking about how what Ed and the actor(s) did was illegal. Really? What *law* was broken? They may have caused Days to violate the union agreement but it hardly rises to the level of being illegal.

Yeah, I don't think anyone's gonna get arrested for this.

Yeah, he said he was gonna post something today.

You mean the man who saved Days and turned it into a great show. Now it's crap.

Everyone was so excited when JER was let go in 2006--but now he's having the last laugh, and laughing all the way to the bank!!

Ok.

The show was sitting second from the bottom of the ratings, and was an industry joke.

Yeah......he saved it. Just like he saved Passions.

Oh. Sorry. It got cancelled.

He did save it, you silly goose! Days was all set to be cancelled in 2003 until JER was brought in and the show was renewed. :D

As for Passions, it got a second life on DTV, and it was only cancelled from DTV because of high production costs. Passions was the highest rated show on Channel 101! :D

Your argument's moot, boy. :D

Well, I can't say I like JER's style of writing; I never liked Passions. I don't like supernatural stories on my soap.

This thread has EXHAUSTED me.

Yes, it's a meaningless post. I don't care. I'm so tired of reading in circles when nothing's actually happening publicly at the moment.

Don't even get me started on other boards and other threads. Isn't anyone else as TIRED as I am? And it's only been a couple days!

I had to get that off my chest. Done now. :)

Agreed.

All of this speculation is now being treated as fact.

Nelson updates at DR:

No news yet, though Days said they would have something for me (re: comment; they issued a no comment Monday morning at the time), but I hear the WGA would be sending Days a cease and desist letter today. So my hands are tied until someone calls me.

It demands that whoever the non-Guild members are to stop writing the show or legal action will take place. It's a legal warning.

Nelson updates at DR:

FYI, that just refers to all future writing from here on out.

If they have a case against the writing that's already been done (and that's IF), then they can still pursue that case.

Other than Nelson Blanco's rumors, what evidence is there that any of this is actually going on? And even if it is, how is this exactly a big soap story outside of the industry? Seems to me that this Blanco making a whole lot of noise so he can have something to write in his blog for people to read.
