Today's episodes were up around 5:00 when I watched them (but I see they're down now). Hope this is temporary. The live stream has been working for me the last two days but the station only airs the second half hour.

Oh no. I lost my password and haven't been able to get on the boards for weeks, lol, thanks to Toups for solving that dilema. I totally missed all the episodes (except the one on YT) If they come back up any chance I could get in on it, haha. Really wanna see this show.

I love the more modern production compared to other soaps of the time. The music and writing is so sophisticated. Elizabeth Hubbard looks amazing, like a movie star of the day, she has a sophisticated air to her. I really like the performances too. NBC had three great soaps on in the 60's and 70's. What an amazing line up. Hopefully one day we can see all three from that era.

As far as the episodes being in colour. I looked up a few newspaper articles, apparently the show went colour around Oct 1966. Makes sense as Days started in colour in Nov 1965 and Another World went colour I think Jun 1966. NBC News went all colour in 1966 too.

RetroTV doesn't have a channel in the NYC area, so I can understand why Liz Hubbard didn't know about it. (Of course, Liz knows about it now as probably Martha mentioned it when they spoke...as otherwise how would she know that Liz didn't know.)

The amount of time between the taping and the airing of the show has been mentioned.

One possible reason could be that The Doctors, at one point, taped shows on Saturday for most of the year and then the cast had a month or two hiatus in the summertime. The performers could travel to other cities to concentrate on stage work or could perform television or movie roles during the break.

I know that this practice was done in the early 1970s. I don't know when it started, but it could have been a practice as early as 1967.

Ugh. I'm so upset. I caught the 2nd episode today through the live stream (which only shows the second ep), but thanks to a live tweeter & heard that Liz/Althea had a bit of a dust up today about Nick and I couldn't wait to get home from work to see the episode. I have been waiting to see this all freaking day. *ugh*

I can't remember the last time I was this engaged in a soap, I really hope that the uploads can be resumed at some point. Maybe if the commercials are left in, RetroTV wouldn't have a problem with the show being uploaded.

I have hundreds of channels and the one that I really want, I can't get. sad.png

    • Yet another reason some of the characters need servants.  Since some of the sets do not include front doors, servants could answer the off-screen door and escort guests into the living room(s).
    • I remember them showing a map of Michigan during one of Rachel's adventures, and you are probably correct here.  But the map may have been used in 1978, when Sven kidnapped Rachel and characters were searching for her. They had no idea Sven had hidden her right there on the Cory estate.  So that's just another possible sighting of the infamous map.
    • The one thing that drives me nuts about this show is that all these wealthy people never lock their doors and everyone just walks in without even knocking.  I live out in the boonies with no neighbors close by, but I always have my doors locked day or night!
    • All the best people are at the bottom of the list. Lauren, Michael, Chloe, Traci, Ashley, Mariah, Sharon, Amanda, Devon. I’d rather see more of these people than anyone in the top 10.. (with the exception of Jack and Diane) because I am still enjoying their scenes.
    • The live video tribute to Drake last night with current and former actors Thread with link to video: https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/68987-days-currentformer-actors-live-video-tribute-for-drake-hogestyn  They said that the episodes were filmed out of order over a span of time. As we already knew, re: the upcoming memorial service (not spoiling the airdate here)... the memorial service was taped *before* Drake passed away, and then the studio was on a preplanned hiatus, and the actors learned of his passing during the hiatus. New info from the video last night, is that some of what recently aired (such as June 3rd episode ) was taped *after* the hiatus, so after Drake passed away. Maybe I misunderstood what Martha Madison said, but it sounded that way. My god, I don't know how the actors filmed it, especially Diedre.
    • I did not expect Peter Reckell to be the one to break my heart today. Incredible scenes with Bo and his family.
    • Barbara, to me, is a mixture of Florence Ballard and Betty McGlown/Barbara Martin (both McGlown and Martin were part of the Primettes before they became a trio and were renamed the Supremes).
    • Maeve Kincaid said in interviews that she misses slapping Jordan Clarke's face..something along the lines "He knew how to take a slap!"   Or voodoo dolls..LOL!
    • Staci Greason was in Paris during this live tribute, which would have been in the middle of the night where she was. So Fairman arranged to pretape Greason earlier in the same day, and then spliced her part into the end of the video after the live feed, and it's all on the same youtube.
    • Agree to disagree. I like it. No doubt it's different. It's supposed to be. Is it dated? Yes, but then that's natural, it's from 1977. I think that reviewer needed to watch a few more episodes. It is clever but not precocious. The role reversal IMO works & well. The best thing I could advise anyone interested, is to try it for yourself, you can always quit it if you don't like it. As much of it as some of us were able to gain access to are up on the Internet Archive & also on my Rumble acct. If you need further directions, PM me.
