So true! And I know which version I prefer.

I can concede that they've had some good stories and introduced some good characters in the last 20-25 years, but when you compare that to the first two decades it's like night and day.

Beautifully said, and I agree with every word.

I no longer have free access to view the series, but even so, I'd still like to know that Emmerdale was being managed properly. It still boggles my mind that TPTB allowed so many members of the Sugden family to be slaughtered over the decades, often for no discernible reason. They should have tried to minimize this mistake a long time ago, by making sure more blood members of the family were born/introduced.

What a shame.

Cain got beat up by a group of young thugs! What a delightful start to the new year!!

Maybe now he'll realize that he's too old to resort to his fists whenever he has a problem.

They don't give a damn about the Sugdens anymore and haven't done for ages. Just look at the way Victoria has been treated. And the only value they see in Robert is as part of a pairing with Aaron.

It's a disgrace, but sadly that's the way it is.

@I Am A Swede I sent you three episodes.

There are rumors going around that ITV3 is going to begin airing Emmerdale repeats. Unfortunately they only start at the arrival of the Tate family. I know that's way too late for most here.

I'll be glad to get to see the '90s intact, and 2000-2003, but I do wish we got the earlier years.

This whole thing with Lachlan is ridiculous! He's a teenage boy, not some seasoned criminal. When did he get the connections to be able to smuggle in a cell phone in prison and arrange for someone to terrorize Belle on the outside?

It's hard to imagine now that once upon a time this show was actually realistic!

Well, I guess that Joseph must be alive somehow, because I don't know how else they will be able to keep Cain, Graham or even Moira on the show now. Not that I would be sad to see any of them go of course, but I hardly think that they're leaving. Because if Debbie keeps quiet about this then she sinks to a new low, and heaven knows she starts from an already low position.

Are we supposed to feel sorry for Cain? Because I'm not, not at all. Quite the opposite. It's impossible for me to muster any sympathy at all for Cain, or Graham or even Debbie. They're all unpleasant, unlikeable characters and they deserve everything they get. I do feel sorry for Noah though. He's the only real victim in this mess.

Someone tweeted this in regards to Robert's attempts to get rid of Billy. A more accurate description of him and Aaron would be hard to find....

"Robert the snake up to his old tricks to protect his grown husband Aaron whom everyone treats like an innocent child - though he isn't . This manipulation will backfire on Robert and Aaron, them they'll whine again."

This person is my new hero. He/she apparently hates Debbie just as much as I do.

    • The one that Christos did would be the RTL Lounge recording (without end credits and subtitles) and the one @rsclassicfanforever did would be the Videoland version with end credits and no subtitles). Is that what you mean by two versions? @BoldRestless
    • The dialogue is so clunky and doesn't  flow naturally. It's like it is written without thought of how it actually sounds when delivered by the actors.

    • This is so confusing. So will CBS and P.Plus just be a day ahead for the rest of the episodes the whole week?
    • April 15, 1993 is when they first meet.
    • Does anyone know the air date when Victoria & Cole first meet? Was there a scene when Victoria was sitting on Cole's lap and kissed him? If so, does anyone know the air date?
    • When is the last time Bridget & Deacon scene happened?
    • Surely that was a joke. Why would anyone seriously ask if Dani had any rooms besides having a bedroom? MOST of the time when we see her, she's in that open, airy, white room with her kitchen far stage left & there's an island & a love seat.  I have meant to post to say how taken I was with Eva last Thursday. You don't know it but I have  not really gotten into either Eva or Leslie/Sheila/Anna/Dana/Mom in the same ways or degrees most of y'all have.  With "Many Names" I get that it's quite a challenge to play that evil & that crazy without becoming cartoonish & she hasn't, so there is that. But, I do not see layers or nuance. I also do not fault the actress. If the gray tones are not there on the page, I don't expect to see them ripped out of thin air. With Eva there were so many questions. Now most have been answered.
    • No kidding. It’s amazing to me that CBS as messy as it was for the 97-98 season landed at #2 that year thanks to Sunday nights, 1/2 of the Monday night lineup, Diagnosis Murder on Thursdays, and oddly the Saturday night line-up. I think CBS was saved by the Winter Olympics not to mention ABC had gotten even messier than CBS’ mess.  CBS came out a more solid for #2 for the 98-99 season but was still very uneven overall. Outside of Sundays the rest of the network’s hits were on checkerboard split between Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.    Had it not been for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire fever I’d say CBS probably would’ve been at #2 for the 99-00 season as well, very much still uneven but of course Survivor and CSI were on the horizon. (*There’s some evidence that CBS may have barely eked out a win for #2 for the 96-97 season but that season’s mess sure doesn’t feel that way)
