I agree with that. I barely watch any other soap at this point. I am trying to enjoy some parts because I know it's likely going to get a lot worse with a new producer. I do think Kate Oates genuinely cares about the show. I just don't like agendas, so that bothered me on Friday.

I just learned today of Shirley Stelfox's death, and I must admit, I never saw her on Emmerdale (mainly because I've only really watched stuff from the Farm years), but I loved her on Keeping Up Appearances, and I'm glad she was able to stay busy with ED up until the end. Hopefully they remember her and her character well.

I can't conjure up any feeling for Aaron doing harm to himself. At this point, I want him to do enough pain to himself that he dies b/c he annoys me to no end. This character stays moody constantly.

Glad that Ross came to his good sense and went and got his son but it's obvious he won't be able to handle him alone. He'll most likely give the child back to Moira and Cain. I do hope though that before it gets to that point that Emma intercepts him. Ross needs to get over his crushed ego and hand Moses over Emma if he isn't able to handle him.

Why isn't Kirin's sexy self penetrating some young thing in the village? That is too much hunk to be wasted and sniffing around Vanessa's sleazy ass.

After what he did with Belle I think he's probably keeping to self-service. Judging by the way he fills out his jeans, it's a lot of self to serve...

I care about Aaron more this time around because I think Danny Miller's acting has improved a great deal, but I'm tired of these exploitive misery stories that are on a damn loop. These are serious issues and are not treated as such. Doug Marland would weep.

I think I might need to pay attention as to how he fills his jeans out for now on. Thanks for pointing that out. :P

I'm over the misery stories too. While I love KO's Emmerdale, I need at least one light story. Give me ONE. A young romance. Something comedic. Something! It's all misery across the board and I cannot take it. Especially, not during Winter months when we are all naturally depressed anyways.

I think it's because she's wrapping her tenure up, but I do think it's too much. Last year at this time there was fun with Kerry and Dan, and David and Alicia, among others. Now it's mostly just...nobody, really. I just think these stories are not appropriate unless taken seriously. They don't even put warnings when they have Aaron self-harming. It's like, "Oh that's just Aaron." Come on.

I keep thinking the new producer will write out Finn. I hope not. He's the one who keeps me caring about the Bartons these days...and his relationship with Ross.

They had the potential for a soapy, lively story with the Aaron and Robert affair. It's like they can't resist the misery even when it's detrimental. And with the new producer being from HO I'm worried they will go full Ste.

Now you know the new producer from HO is gonna go full campy with this show. Given Robert/Aaron's past and the popularity of Brendon/Ste in the past, he might try and emulate the same story on here.

I hope Finn isn't written out. He's one of the few characters I love on the show. I like him being the voice of reason; however, he needs a story out of his family. I loved his friendship with Val and wish they'd gravitate him towards either Diane or Eric to fill that void but whatever. Plus, he needs a lover. Finn is another one that needs to be penetrating (or getting penetrated) in the village.

Thanks for subscribing. I had a feeling it would happen, as I got 2 strikes for Coronation Street. I should have taken the rest down but decided it wasn't worth it. I don't know why they get upset, as I don't upload new episodes, but that's up to them I guess. It's a great way to chase off viewers though...

I remember even some "Robron" fans were saying that Finn also having a boyfriend was "too much." What they didn't realize is that selective homophobia is no better than outright homophobia.

1) Thanks to everyone who's posting episodes of Emmerdale. I've been absent lately cuz of other stuff but hoping to get back into it.

2) Looks like Vanessa will finally be rid of Dumas Adam as the father soon. Thank you Jesus

3) I don't care one fig bout poor baby Aaron hurting himself yet again. As your boy Robert would say...."ITS PATHETIC". Isn't this like the 5th in like 1.5 years? I'm so over it. him and Chas

4) The show is so much better with Debbie's shadows completely gone! Now my baby Ross can focus on me

    • Nick told Victoria that he and Sharon had married in England.  Victoria was shocked.  Then she realized he was kidding.  He confirmed it was a joke and they're platonic. I don't even know what to say about that.
    • It's funny you say that because part of the entertainment of the trials on the show are all the day players who come on as witnesses and jurors.  I'm certain it was like the Law and Order of its time. It employed so many New York actors, that if you look close enough, there's usually someone vaguely recognizable in the courtroom.
    • I will defend Dante.  People already suspect he may be a bit unstable from time to time (from his time as a prisoner).  And, he's taking care of other people's kids from time to time.  So, he has reason to be cautious with those in his care.
    • Josh continues to try and milk Abbott/Newman rivalry. First it was Billy/Victoria, then Kyle/Summer, then Noah/Allie (that worked out well) and now Kyle/Claire. Do we have any inkling when Billy Flynn will arrive and who he will play? I'm sure Cole's illness will mostly play offscreen. What's in store for Nick and Sharon? Is it time to put them back together? I can't see any other romantic options. Nick has no children on the canvas to play off, as Christian is never seen. Sharon has only Mariah onscreen.
    • I would appreciate (if they're not coming), for future scripts to refer to them by their iconic hairdos.  For example, if Hope needs to call Chelsea because Bo has Sepsis, I'd like Shawn-D to say, "My Mom called Chelsea (the one with the sassy short black hair) for an update." Also, new rule, if Melanie does return, she needs to dye her hair back to red.  I googled who she was five times during Victor's funeral.

    • Broderick, thank you for all of the info [I edited for space]. I am so grateful for everyone filling in the blanks for me. I suspected the Nora/Eliot scene was very important and it was setting something up but I didn't know what. Can't wait to see it play out. The two actors had such a great back and forth. I should have made the Paige/Patty Hearst connection. I thought Paige was in love with Brian from the first episode I watched but it seemed as if they were brother and sister. Steve kept being affectionate with her so I assumed he was the love interest. Then she was affectionate with someone else and well..she's a very busy woman. I can't wait to see Frances Fisher show up. (I'm trying to be vague because I don't know what would be a spoiler in this storyline) Now it makes sense why Draper would be upset. I didn't get the whole background of why he didn't go to NY. I'm a sucker for good acting, so I might still side with April and Margo, if the writers don't give Draper more to do besides yelling.  He had more chemistry with Logan, but I know that's not happening.  Something else I noticed: the show really takes care with even the smallest parts. The acting is superb. Too often, I noticed on older soaps they don't take care with the recurring or day players (Ryan's Hope was so bad with this that I couldn't make it through some episodes). It's only been six episodes, but so far, the casting department was spot on.
    • I thought Dante was overreacting.  Gio made some mistakes but he's young and he tried.  It's not like he dragged two 14 years to a party and made them get blackout drunk.  Dante can have the initial upset reaction, but to go on and on was a bit much.
    • His (adoptive) nieces.  Chelsea and Stephanie.  I think Abby was involved too, but I am not sure if they are related lol.
    • That was such a dark story. I never liked Swamp girl after that. And then the dating your cousin thing. I think wasn’t Max in a triangle with two of his cousins?
    • Thank you, @j swift.  I'm probably more sympathetic to Draper Scott than most audience members are -- even though I'm absolutely CRAZY about Ann Williams & her bizarre Margo Huntington character

The more I watch these episodes -- and I've watched several of them a zillion times, I'm ashamed to admit -- you realize there's a WHOLE lot of passive-aggressive hostility brewing inside Margo Huntington about Draper.  She wants to take April AWAY from him and recreate the childhood that she never got to experience with April, because of the adoption 25 years ago.  Draper has sense enough to realize how heartless and vindictive Margo really is about other people's lives and their feelings, but he bites his tongue rather than poison his wife's mind about how horrible her mother really is.  And I admire him for that.  He's a sweet boy.
