July 12, 200817 yr Administrator The Katie/Nick/Bridget triangle has got to be about one of the worst on tv I know, eh. Everything that's happened in the past two months with this "triangle" has been really bad. I can't believe this is the A storyline right now.
July 12, 200817 yr Member <stuff snipped to cut to the chase> B&B could go a lot of routes here. I'm just not sure TPTB have the balls or finesse (or the permission from CBS) to play all those beats. Oh, well. Where CBS fears to tread, HBO or F/X has probably already walked that road! I love your scenarios. But since Sara Bibel so beautifully reminded us of what happened to Y&R when they "went gay" in 1977 (with Kay Chancellor) [ratings plummeted and it took years to rebound], I doubt Brad Bell is going to go gay. On an LA fashion show, this should have happened a decade ago...and the fact that it didn't means everything. Other sources provide evidence that the Bells might be a bit conservative in general. Daytime's inability to be relevant...not just on the sexuality issue, but in so many ways...is part of the obsolescence that is sending these shows "home". Marcus & Owen that's too much muscles in one bed. Oh no it isn't

Yeah, they took what could have been a very interesting story and turned it into crap. But I expected much from Bradley.
July 12, 200817 yr Member The Katie/Nick/Bridget triangle has got to be about one of the worst on tv ...EVER. Channelling my inner Victoria Rowell: THIS IS SO SCANDALOUS! I love all actors involved, this could be interesting but is a never ending horrifying nightmare. As is most of B&B these days unfortauntely.
July 12, 200817 yr Member So wait... what went on in the episode? Owen dropped his towel and was nude for Donna? Except the flip flops? To be clear, it was an accidental towel drop. Owen had a poor grasp on his, ahem, towel know, he was preoccupied looking for something, and Donna startled him. When the towel dropped, Donna and Owen both froze. Her mouth was AGAPE at the sight of his unmentionables. It is still on legal sites like cbs.com/Hulu/MSN TV (I can't find the clip on Youtube) and it is worth watching.

July 12, 200817 yr Member Unmentionables? Goodness, Mark, these are not the Dark Ages! There are scientific names for certain things! Oh? Tell us what you'd say, Sylph!
July 12, 200817 yr Member Oh? Tell us what you'd say, Sylph! Thinking about it - I quite like your choice!
July 12, 200817 yr Member I know, eh. Everything that's happened in the past two months with this "triangle" has been really bad. I can't believe this is the A storyline right now. everyone is telling us about the great love that Nick and Katie share for each other, yet Im not seeing it. He still seems like more of a crush to her and I dont see any romantic love for her from him. Its just horrible. I cant stand to watch Katie go on about her feelings but how she cant do anything bc Bridget has been so helpful to her. I also cant stand to watch Bridget throw Nick and Katie together and be perfectly cool with everything. The whole thing is dumb as was the 3 day engagement. WTF? and Katie is supposed to perform the wedding? They should have just kept Katie with Thorne and developed that. I would have rather have seen them reconnect while she was sick Edited July 12, 200817 yr by Cheap21
July 12, 200817 yr Member Just got to see this week's shows. So I take it that Bridget is the only person in all of LA that doesn't realize that Nick and Katie have strong feelings for each other. It is either that or she is completely testing Nick to see if he is committed to her. Are we going to have to hear her whine about how she trusted both of them when she catches them in bed together (because you know that is going to happen)? One week and we already have some shirtless Owen.
July 13, 200817 yr Member I am wholeheartedly bored to tears with Nick/Bridget/Katie, I believe pimping this as the major SL is the reason the ratings have declined recently. I preferred Nick with Brooke, but Bell has ruined that one, Bricky is dead and buried: what a waste! And, what a pity we didn't get to see what's under Owen's towel, in all its glory!
July 13, 200817 yr Member I actually liked "Nicket" until Brooke decided Nick was her "destiny" and started interfering. Same goes for "Ticky", actually. But basically, I hate any triangle that Nick is in the center of. The man is pushing 50 - why are all these younger women chasing after him? He's not even that good-looking!
July 13, 200817 yr Member Owen does nothing to me. He just has no longlivety value just like all the other amusing but ultiately without future goon characters. I always thought B&B should bring on a gay designer. Not an effeminate one, but a hunky aggressive semi-villain who hates the Forresters (for turning him down for an internship or something) who wants to bring them down and in the process tries to seduce some of the "weaker" and insecure members of the Forrester family tree like Thorne and Thomas. And maybe give him a more stereotypical and funny boyfriend (kinda how all villains on B&B usually have sidekicks so they have somebody to talk their plans over with).
July 13, 200817 yr Member I love Heather Tom, but watching Katie perform the wedding ceremony was too much for me. It seems like Ridge doesn't have a lot to say these days, huh? He has been very very quiet during the past few episodes.
July 13, 200817 yr Member Catching up with last weeks so pardon my late comments... The pool party on Wednesday was actually more than just decent. I loath the story which brought us this family event and Nick & Bridget are DOA ever since they had to rush into marriage what felt like a 100 times back in 2005 and Nick & Bridget cross-betrayed each other with Dante & Brooke but this party was a joy. Simply because it wasn’t that much about the “happy” couple. Beth & Eric rekindled, Donna proudly presented Marcus the families (again), Rick & Taylor were present yet outcasted by everyone – there was so much possible conflict and potential to last more than just one episode; still I’ll give the writers credit where it is due. This was a wonderful ensemble episode. With Pam crashing the event and Owen mysteriously showing up, plus those Stephanie & Felicia scenes which just felt sooo good even though the depressing tone Stephanie is in. I wanted to see more of all of this... Yet we get the total opposite and more of half-backed and half-assed Katie/Nick/Bridget-stuff. Other random observations: - Steffy & Marcus are sooo cute; first couple in a long time with which I totally empathise with. And I usually can’t stand teenage romance blossoms on TV... Now they just need to come up with some b*tchy girl/boy who’s trying to tear Steffy & Marcus apart. This could get a total Luke & Laura (& Scotty) style teen romance. But they need to add crispiness fast because sweetness doesn’t carry a show. I may stress in advance that I don’t want to see another round of Ridge opposing to his child’s choice and indirectly pressuring him/her into eloping... - LAD needs to change her wig ASAP. This colour screams Sunset Boulevard hooker. - This show needs more Pam or least someone who causes laughter and/or trouble. - Keeping Ridge/Brooke backburner-ish is Pleasantville. Yet they need to balance the cast future. Less, less, less Nick/Katie – more Stephanie and the rest.
