I don't have a long history with the character of Addie. Maybe it I did I would feel differently, but as it stands I don't agree with that column. I don't see Addie as being played for a fool. It seems to me that she is taking a lot of joy in life, making up for lost time and going after what she wants. I love that Addie isn't held back by social convention. If she wants to do something she does it and she doesn't care if it's appropriate for someone of her age or place in life. I say "Go Addie" enjoy life and lucidity while you have them. You never know when they will be snatched away.

I think the marriage to David is stupid and contrived but I don't necessarily think Addie's being played as a fool. Youthful, yes but not foolish. She sometimes comes across as the smartest one in the lot.

BUT I really hated today's episode, it was absolute crap. I'm sorry I watched it.

I think they made it clear on teh show taht she was NOT being played for a fool. She knows exactly who David is and what this marriage is about. She simply doesnt care. She's missed out on so much while being mentally ill and is now free from that and grasping to experience as much as possible and see what she's missed out on. Her marriage with David is about having fun and feeling good about herself. So far, she's having a blast and good for her bc David is definetly someone who knows how to have a good time. She's not complaining and she definetly isnt a sucker.

Completely disagree, but hey, I guess Marlena has to be critical of something for fear of being called as much a syncophant as Nelson Branco (whose personal attacks on her I do not approve of).

It's been emphasized that Addie knows what she wants and why she wants it and how to get it, even if she is eccentric and impulsive. It's not abuse by the writers. At all.

In my opinion, Addie and Langston are the only two Cramer women with any sense. I don't think Addie has been written like a fool at all. When she married David, she told Blair exactly why. When she first came back, she told her family that she wanted to live her life the way she wanted. I think it's heart warming, actually.

    • Are these new?! Damn, he is in the prime of his life.
    • He is a 40 year old large grown man "raising his voice" and calling a teenage girl "careless".  That's inappropriate.  I am not going to argue at the octave of his voice although I would consider it yelling.  Felicity was visibly upset.  She also has special needs, but it would be wrong to do that to anyone in general.  Xander was out of line.  He didn't immediately apologize or admit he was wrong until Princess Sarah was okay.  Idk, go find your wife's epipen instead of berating a young girl.  Or, you know, Sarah could have asked if there was any pistachio in her scone as a pre-caution.  That's how most people with allergies that severe order things. I do think this story or plot point is silly, but acting like Xander did nothing wrong is just strange.  Even if Felicity DID do something wrong was he just going to continue to go on and on while his wife was going into shock?  That's the proper reaction lol.
    • I didn't get that so far so I'll have to keep that in mind if I ever pick back up.  I must have chosen bad episodes because what I saw had some really bad Irish accents from supporting/day players. They were hard to get through and I just didn't have the patience to deal with them. I don't think these accents would be allowed to go through today. I assume these accents were ironed out as the show went on--reminded me of Deas's terrible accent on GL that was dropped because it was so bad.

    • It's shoddy journalism. Pretty much says all you need to know about Parade as a source.
    • It could still be possible.  Ashley could know who her dad is, but her mother stating that her father was a ruthless man so she opted to listen to her mom and kept her distance. It also could be a change in storyline direction since we're now approaching the period of episodes being filmed when the show debuted. The actress playing Ashley posted an IG two weeks ago with her saying she got to work with new characters and old time favorites.  So I do wonder if some new details will emerge between Episode 51 and whatever she was filming at the end of April.
    • He didn't scream. He accused her of being careless in a slightly raised voice. Then he immediately admitted he had overreacted.
    • I really don't like Joey. Please get that disaster off the screen. Leslie going off like that finally let everyone see exactly who she is. She said she has more surprises up her sleeve which reinforces my thoughts that she knows something about Martin.
