Cyndi's new cd really is top notch. She had big producers like Basement Jaxx, so it's not some cheap dance cd. If it were released by a young diva, say Rihanna, Into the Nightlife would be a #1 hit. Tom and Margo's anniversary has gotten me back to ATWT for a week. I watched the July 1st episode and enjoyed it. Casey and Emily are about the only thing that makes me want to continue watching. Also loved Barbara and Lisa giving Sofie a smackdown. I haven't been watching since Sofie went crazy so that was new.

They finally found a way to make Nuke interesting....keeping them from speaking while some kick-ass artist rocks Yo's.

Holden continues to be the scum of the earth. I wish Carly would have slammed the door on him, catching his winkie and damaging it forever.

I like the Carly/Mike scenes.

And can't they give Henry/V anything to do OTHER than having sex in costumes? (I can't imagine how many health code rules they violated today.) Henry, apparently isn't good for anything BUT dressing up. At least he gets to be a guy now. No more Henrietta dresses for him.

:lol::lol: I thought Cyndi was fabulous! I need to pick up her new CD. Yes, Nuke was more interesting with Cyndi's help. But didnt Cyndi and Luke have more chemistry than Noah and Luke? I guess Cyndi can be Luke's girl pal. :P Btw...Noah/Silbermann cant dance.

Ugh...Holden is an [!@#$%^&*]....I cant stand him anymore...get him off my screen.....hypocrite!!!

I liked it too. Better chemistry than Dumbo Holden.

 Henry should just give in and have sex with Mike. Is it me...or has Henry had chemistry with both Mikes?

Yeah...I was amazed Cyndi was so interesting as a character. Most times, these \"guest as self\" roles are so wooden it\'s not funny. It was a little preachy, but not one-tenth as preachy as Luke usually is. And I don\'t know what kind of pull Cyndi had with TPTB, but to get TWO songs entirely played? What did she do, cover salaries for a week or something? Meanwhile, the director should have done both Van and Jake favors and cut away from their dancing scenes. Ooops...can you imagine the Nukers protests over THAT conspiracy?

Yeah...as if that being \"Jack\'s house\" would have kept him from doin\' Carly right then and there. I\'m glad Holden moved his sorry ass back to Lily\'s so she gets the pleasure of kicking it right back out. Even though both he and Carly are wrong, I only feel sympathy for Carly, who seems to be in free-fall, allowing this schumuck to keep pulling her chain before he hops happily back to his wife.

I just like Jon Prescott. I wish he\'d get something to do other than hang around losers like Meg and Katie.

Henry\'s one of those characters that has chemistry with everyone. How sad is it that when Maura can do that, she\'s the leading lady, and when Trent does it, all he gets is backburner limbo for months at a time?

I have finally figured out what is wrong with NuLily. Noelle Beck isn't terrible, but her Lily comes off fragile and delicate which is so out of character. Martha's Lily wasn't my favorite, but the character was strong and often overpowering.

I wanted Holden and Carly to kiss. I hate all the delaying tactics. Still Holden is a lowlife for misleading Lily about his feelings. Even if he can't be with Carly, he shouldn't give Lily all this hope that things between them are okay.

I really like NuMike even though he is too young for the role. He is wasted in Maul hell. He should be mixing it up with Emily and tempting Katie away from Brad.

Good to see Cyndi Lauper as ff through the dreck that is supposed to be acting. Ugh.

I agree. It doesn't help that Noelle's voice is so weak and quiet...she doesn't have the power to cause thunderstorms like Martha did. If I take my glasses off, though, she looks just like Martha, so judging mainly by looks, I'd say NB was a good recast, but for character portrayal, not so much.

Cyndi Lauper kicks all types of ass. She sang the hell out of "True Colors" and I loved her randomly dancing on extras during that other song. I actually liked Noah and Luke today, but that doesn't say toooo much. Superficially, they're a hot little number, with their longing looks, passionate kisses and what-not, but anything beyond appearances....snoooooze. Van and Jake are more into each other than Luke and Noah are. And Jake can NOT dance. I'm surprised Cyndi didn't die laughing right there.

Isn't that the standard, though? When Mary J. Blige and Snoop Dogg performed over on OLTL this year, they both did two songs each. Snoop actually did two songs, the opening theme song, and had his first performance replayed on the second day.

 You just dont like Nuke do you Ann.

Yes she did. I loved it. LOL...I said the same thing earlier...Jake looked dumb dancing...LOL....and LOL about Cyndi not laughing.

We finally agree JP. NB lily comes off watered down. I cant believe she hasnt gotten a clue what is going on. Martha's version of Lily would have suspected something already.

You nailed it, Soapsuds. It is like Heather Tom playing Victoria Newman and Amelia Heinle playing the same character.

detriotpiston, I don't mean that Martha's Lily was strong or overpowering in character as much as in her mannerisms and acting. When Martha spoke it was determined and even when Lily cried or did something stupid, it came from deep within. In contrast, Noelle's Lily comes off squeaky and light. Even when she had the outbursts at Faith's dance, it was very shallow. It is the difference between singing from your diaphragm (Martha) and from your throat (Noelle).

Unfortunately, no and it kills me because I was so looking forward to Luke's first romance. In my eyes, Luke isn't just a half of a badly conceived and acted couple. Unlike all the lecturing Nuke fans, I actually remember Lily giving birth to Luke and crossing my fingers that he was Damian's son and not Holden's.

Not on this show. Well, I guess Gwen got a lot of her songs in. But I remember acts that barely got opening and closing lines for ONE song. The camera barely even cut away from Cyndi. TWO songs is unheard of on this show.

    • In my usual account on my most used video hosting site with the video title  DAYS 1-8-15 Will & Paul Sex This is an edit I began when I was first teaching myself to edit & at that time I couldn't make it do what I wanted it to do. I pulled it up & finished it this morning.
    • Or Megan is shot as retaliation for Dave's unpaid gambling debts...while Julie confesses she's the biological mother of Special Guest Star Barry Bostwick's little boy.
    • Finland seemed such an odd choice for a location shoot. ATWT went to Greece and later Spain while GL had Tenerife and there were others in that timeframe. But Finland not being a known tourist destination or offering the tropical/sunny atmosphere usually associated with location shoots seems off brand. Maybe they were negotiating a deal with a tourist association and it fell through.
    • I was talking about 1986, but the glimpses of 1982 are about the same.
    • I skimmed some of the 1982 synopses; Steve was planning on an opening an office in Finland, and I think Jim went there as part of the preparation. That probably was a big issue; AW had already gone to San Diego that year, with Rachel/Steve/Mitch. And to upstate NY with Pete and Diana. I wonder if upstate was as expensive lol  AW in 1982 has always fascinated me, because of how messy it was
    • That makes sense. What a messy time for the show. And any changes they made were mostly for the worse.
    • The transition from Neal to Adam was very abrupt, and to be honest my theory is that the character of Neal was designed so that we think he is super shady but then it turns out that he was on the side of good all along so Neal could have seamlessly become a hero of the BCPD with no need for Adam. I don't know whether Robert Lupone was hired on a short contract or if he was fired from a longer-term contract because they decided they wanted someone who was more of a leading man type, but I can imagine a scenario where Charles Grant did both the undercover Egyptian treasure/flirt with Victoria and the straighter-arrow day to day police investigation. But in my imagined scenario the MJ prostitution plotline probably doesn't exist and instead he probably continues a relationship with Victoria. The story seems very odd to me. I assume that David Canary would have been included only because a plotline where Steve is going to Finland in which only Rachel is seen in actual Finland seems unlikely. The synopses explicitly mention that Alice can't go with Steve but would whoever was playing Alice at that time have had the kind of clout to get the remote cancelled? It also strikes me as unlikely that production would have approved the expensive location shoot and *then* cancelled it only because of jealousy. It seems more likely that they rejected it because of the expense but then the jealousy part got added to the gossip speculatively, possibly because while it was being worked out they justified not including more castmembers because of the expense.
    • My comment has nothing to do with cast resentment, but does relate to the Finland location shoot: It may be a coincidence, but Jim Matthews died in Finland in 1982.  Hugh Marlowe's final episode was in April 1982, but the character probably didn't die untll May or June. (I'm unable to find the character's date of death, only the date of Marlowe's final episode). SInce Jim and Rachel had very little interaction after around 1975, it is unlikely Jim's death in Finland had any connection to Rachel's potential visit, but the choice to have Jim die in that location at that time is a head-scratcher.  I'm sure the writers sent Jim on an extended trip (and off-screen) because of Marlowe's illness.  But Finland seems like a strange choice considering the (then) recently cancelled location shoot.
    • I totally understand your sloths concern about it and I agree with you. Let’s hope the show plays it’s cards right.    Further comments about the last few episodes: - I liked that one of the attendees was filming the scene. That’s realistic. I wonder if the writers will follow up with that.  - Martin and Smitty trying to drag Leslie out was very heteronormative, so perfectly in line with them two as characters lol.    As for the future: it’s obvious the Duprees will come to accept Eva one way or another, but the rivalry with Kay should be here for the long term   On the topic of acting: the only bad actors I’m seeing are Ted and Derek. Tomas hasn’t proven to be either good or bad, so far, but he’s certainly mediocre and uncharismatic. He sucks the energy out of the scenes and I don’t see any couple of women ever vying for him.
    • I’m trying to think which actors VW were working with at the time, and none of them had been there for a while. Even like Mac and Ada didn’t have that big of a part in Rachel’s storyline.  And Jamie was involved with all that movie stuff.
