Members DRW50
That's a great idea about recasting Mike - maybe bring Ann back when Jack died and have Mike return to support Stacey. I know the canvas was very full and younger by then, but it could have been a short stint to give Ann some closure. Maybe she and Mike could have left to see if Jack was still alive. Yes, someone in the comments said that the first tape was Leslie and then Tudor filmed another version. I hope more of Denniston's run shows up as this is such a time of turmoil for Gwyn.
Members Kane
My thoughts exactly about bringing them back after Jack's death. As you say, the cast was full then, however, I think room could have been made to play out a short story arc. I mean, there's a stretch of time in the summer of '92 where it feels like the only two stories are the Giff saga and the haunting of 35 Maple.

Members DRW50
Thanks. A shame they wasted a Doug recast (who never really had a full chance to be established even under Cranston) on this. I wonder if they talked a lot about her being so intimate with his brother.

Members Soaplovers
Harding Lemay was so bias... she was an awesome actress and could totally have played a heavy on a soap opera long term in the 80s and 90s. Such a shame this was one of her final roles in soap operas.
Members Mona Kane Croft
Oh Lordy, It would have been interesting to see this version of Alice come up against Vicky Wyndham's Rachel. Somehow I believe this Alice would have mopped the floor with poor little Rachel. Too bad it never happened, Edited Friday at 02:39 AM by Mona Kane Croft
Members Franko
Oh, how I wish they kept Jacqui around longer. I'm adoring her snark in that clip.

Members DRW50
Thanks @EricMontreal22 @vetsoapfan You might enjoy this. A Jacquie Courtney role we'd had no footage of. To think Alexandra Wilson, Luke Perry and Courtney were all on AW in 1989 (although Courtney never interacted with them). It's odd seeing her in such a camp, mwahaha role, like Ursula in Corinth. I'd love to see her facing off with Christine Tudor's Gwyn. Edited Friday at 02:56 AM by DRW50
Members Franko
I wouldn't trade Christine, and Jacqui was still playing Alice when the character was introduced, but this clip made we wonder how she would have done playing Gwyn.
Members dc11786
Funny, I was thinking she might have made a nice Ann. Callan White grew a bit in the first year or two, but when they stopped writing for her, I don't think the verve and personality she developed in what I saw during her marriage to Dane was maintained. Not that I want to see Ann Alden the madam. I think the April story is another story best to be forgotten. A story element I have floated around in my head the last few years was the possibility that maybe Amelia Whitley (Geraldine Page) should have been Shana's mother. Under those circumstances, I think there would have been a cnatural way to connect Diane and Shana through Amelia.
Members DRW50
I could definitely see her as Ann - I guess she was on AW when the part was recast with White, but she could have been very good in that triangle with Dane and Gwyn. I could see it - Elizabeth Savage played a softer Gwyn anyway, so Jacqui could have filled the same type of space.
