John Ingle:- What where they thinking bringing him in, when Bonnie where after him it looked really strange, he looked like her old grandfather! Who dou you all think is the best Mickey Horton on Days Of Our Lives!?..... HANDS DOWN! JOHN CLARKE!!!!!!!! He is the ORIGINAL Mickey Horton! John Clarke and Suzanne Rogers were magic together and have so much history. I want John Clarke to come back now! We need him. John Clarke had been on DAYS debuted from the beginning in 1965. John and Suzanne are Mickey and Maggie, they are our Bob and Kim of Days.
February 22, 200817 yr Member Plus John Clarke was the last link to the original pilot, since Frances Reid did not play Alice in the original pilot. Also, it's hard to put Richard in this category, since he was only Mickey for 3 episodes, as opposed to John Clarke's 38-plus years in role.
February 22, 200817 yr Member John Clarke will always be Mickey Horton. John Ingle was too campy formeto bear especially being paired with Bonnie Lockhart. It was like Mickey's character did a whole entire 180 degree turn from being a serious lawyer to a campy National Lampoon's Grizwald goon.
February 22, 200817 yr Member They all were boring. But I'll go with Mickey #3. At least he was kind of entertaining being married to that hot mess, Bonnie. I've watched for 15 years and never seen the Real Mickey do anything special...maybe back in the 70's.
February 23, 200817 yr Member Days should deal with the 'missing Mickey'situation. Who knows if John Clarke has been asked to return. If he did it would likely to be for 1 or 2 episodes a year. Richard Voigt did a good job with the limited number of times he was on.Maybe he should be given the opportunity. How would posters feel about Jerry Douglas(John Y&R)taking over as Mickey? Ghost John has worn out his welcome and maybe Jerry would like the chance to work more often.(Not that Mickey will ever be used often again)
February 23, 200817 yr Member John Clarke IS Mickey Horton. Case Closed. It's time that DAYS does the right thing and kills off the character. That way there is no more 'Missing Mickey' and Suzanne Rogers finally gets to act the hell outta something because y'all know, given the material, Suzanne would knock it outta the damn park.
February 23, 200817 yr Member IA, Paul Raven. Mickey's "disappearance" needs to be dealt with, one way or the other. If you want to recast, fine. If you want to kill him off, fine. Hey, if you just want to say he ran off to Aruba with some cocktail waitress, that's fine, too. Just make a decision, DAYS. Having Mickey there-but-not-really-there makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
February 23, 200817 yr Member John Clarke, the original, the best. I think Mickey should be re-cast. A daytime vet, maybe Nicholas Pryor(ex-Victor Collins, PC) or Roy Thinnes (ex-Sloan Carpenter, OLTL), or John Reilly (soon-to-be-ex-Allistair Crane, PASSSIONS,ex-Sean Donely, GH) would be re-cast in the role. I also thought Richard Voights was good and maybe he could be brought back. I love John Ingle on GH, but he was just ok as Mickey. He (and for that matter John Clarke) was too old for the role imho. Ingle and Clarke (in his later years) both looked more like Alice's husband instead of son.
February 24, 200817 yr Member ITA. John Clarke is THE Mickey. I still think he left over the writing.
