All: TV Guide Canada's List of Soaps' WORST Actors

Any AMC fans in here remember Raquel Dion #1? Carolyn Neff? Ugh! She was absolutely one of the worst actresses EVER, and serves as exhibit A as to why Judy Blye "It's All About the Look" Wilson is NOT this fabulous casting director the industry thinks her to be.

Neff was gorgeous -- but she could not ACT! She would stumble on almost all of her lines, and literally backtrack and start lines over again to say them correctly. Like, "Mateo and I belong to-- I mean, I love Mateo. Mateo and I belong together. We were married when we were kids -- um, teenagers. Married when we were teenagers, and we loved each other so much."

Add me to the list of ATWT fans who are amazed Peck isn't the worst actor we've hired in years. For what Brad is, Peck is a good fit. I think this Canadian TVGuide doofus once claimed he was stealing scenes from Maura, and that thought is laughable. I think it's taken way too long to "flesh" Brad out, I'm a little miffed that Brad's history was rewritten, and that Jack is being trashed to play up Brad's better qualities, but none of that is Peck's doing.

I think labeling Agim as the worst actor isn't fair, he's barely even been on since he returned. And I'll agree with someone else's pick, it's Howarth as Paul Ryan. He's just never jelled in the role. Whether it's the writing, trying not to be seen as "Todd II", or just not connecting with the material, for me, there's just no depth to the character of Paul anymore. Paul is one seething mass of anger, who is continually paralyzed by his supposed demons. There's no struggle when he does these horrible things, and it makes him more of a cartoonish figure for me.

As for Silberman...I hate to suggest it, but I don't think he's comfortable acting opposite Van in romantic scenes at all. He seemed a lot more at ease with Alex Chando. But of all the green actors I've had to watch on the show, (Agim, Peyton List, AJ Lamas, many Chris recasts, Zach Roerig) he's not the worst by any stretch of the imagination.

    • I don't mind her in the role. At all.
    • Love this from the AP article on BTG: For years, Veronica Redd played Mamie Johnson — Drucilla’s aunt — on “The Young and the Restless.” When she tuned into the premiere of “Beyond the Gates,” what she saw got her attention, but what she heard blew her away. “I was not prepared,” laughs Redd. It begins with a women driving a Mercedes-Benz through the gates of an exclusive country club. The Emotions’ “Best of My Love” is playing — something that told Redd the production value was top notch. Daytime isn’t usually Redd’s favorite genre even though she acknowledges “it’s paid the bills for many decades.” “Beyond the Gates,” though, has earned a spot in Redd’s TV time. “They got me hooked,” she says. -
    • It's a shame because I like the actress, but she was miscast. I'd say they should pull a DAYS and put her in another role.
    • Theoretically, I would agree, but it seems like Paul Avila Mayer and Stephanie Braxton did such a number on Hogan, Sunny and Liza that reuniting Hogan and Sunny would've been a toxic situation.
    • She painfully sticks out, it’s awful. I can’t believe the producers don’t see this.
    • Deidre Hall did really well in that last scene hearing about them closing in on John. John's funeral is going to be tough to watch.
    • And this is why I use a different video hosting site. It's interesting to me that on IG Sony only hits current not vintage. Also there's no penalty as long as you delete.
    • Are we sure we're not going to go down a Natalia Grace storyline here?

    • Probably. Stephanie is still so underdeveloped as a character to me.  She jumps from romance to romance and I feel like she takes on the persona and interests of the man she is with at the moment.  I don't really know her interests or personality.  And Stephanie certainly gets enough airtime to explore more than sex with Alex. I know she was interacting with Kayla today, but a lot of the dialogue was "Alex asked", "Alex thinks..", "Alex is now free so I have to go" lol.  What do you think about anything, Stephanie?
    • May 2025:   New Pope, Leo XIV is chosen in Rome, while the Italian Open tennis tournament is happening in Rome. The headline is "Sinner meets the Pope"  or  "Pope meets Sinner". LOL, this is tennis player Jannik Sinner. He met with Pope Leo and gave him a tennis racket. Leo plays tennis himself and is a tennis fan. (He is also a Chicago Cubs baseball fan).    https://apnews.com/article/pope-leo-jannik-sinner-tennis-italian-open-9305b5f2957ac15c7a405f836371ec1e The top-ranked tennis player visited the new pope on Wednesday, gave him a tennis racket and offered to play, during an off day for Sinner at the Italian Open. Leo, the first American pope, is an avid tennis player and fan and had said earlier this week that he would be up for a charity match when it was suggested by a journalist. But at the time, Leo joked “we can’t invite Sinner,” an apparent reference to the English meaning of Sinner’s last name. By Wednesday, all seemed forgotten. “It’s an honor,” Sinner said in Italian as he and his parents arrived in a reception room of the Vatican’s auditorium. Holding one of his rackets and giving Leo another and a ball, the three-time Grand Slam champion suggested a quick volley. But the pope looked around at the antiques and said, “Better not.” Leo, a 69-year-old from Chicago, then appeared to joke about his white cassock and its appropriateness for Wimbledon, perhaps a reference to the All England Club’s all-white clothing rule.
