If this doesn't indicate that GH doesn't need a creative overhaul, I don't know what does. Usually they build before sweeps month, they haven't been able to do that this time.

Barring OLTL, all of ABCD is a [!@#$%^&*] mess! AMC is the worst piece of trash disguising itself as a soap, and GH's saving grace is its actors.

I sure hope all the soaps see a creative overhaul soon, before things get even worse.

Good for DAYS...it took Drake Hogestyn's firing to do it, but the show went up. That being said I think this rise is very contingent on TPTB not focusing too much on Sami, EJ, Chelsea, Stephanie etc.....basically anyone who has dominated this last year.

Dierdre Hall, Thaao Penghilis, Leann Hunley, Lauren Koslow, Peter Reckell, Kristian Alfonso = the people who need to be on!

I hope Y&R crashes and burns next week, Clear Springs has been a total disaster and the 'Out of the Ashes' episodes have been awful!

And may I just say GO KAY ALDEN! GO KAY ALDEN! B&B is back into 4 million viewing territory. If this can be sustained it means great things for B&B which has been fantastic with Kay at the helm.

Finally, ABC is getting exactly what it deserves. GH is HORRIBLE, AMC is UNWATCHABLE and OLTL is STAGNANT. Listen, Bob Iger and Anne Sweeney better get their asses in motion and FIRE FRONS. He's OVER y'all. He's DONE, he's a JOKE! And so are the ratings.

How is it a rewrite when we were NEVER given an actual explanation as to why Meg couldn't have kids?

LMAO ATWT beat GH *snickers* Frons is probably crapping his pants seeing that BWAH! I have a feeling B&E aren't long for the AMC world, given that the first thing they were told was to get ratings up and they've had more all time lows since they started than the show has had in a very long while.

Woohoo, Go AMC & GH, sink, sink, sink!!! :D

I hope this downward trend continues so Frons will get fired very soon. I haven't watched AMC in two weeks and the November sweeps stories don't look any better than the crap currently airing. It's time for JHC to go and take B&E with her so AMC can have an EP and headwriter who understand what used to make it so great.

Actually B&B didn't benefit from Flannery's return. Stephers showed up the same day as Viki did, Friday. Both shows dropped .1 that day. As little airtime as Viki got with virtually no promotion, she did pretty good. It was great seeing both of them back on screen. They've both been greatly missed! :)

To think they are worrying about renewal yet they are beating all the other soaps except for Y&R and B&B.

You give OLTL too much credit. I have seen it on Soapnet and it isnt all that. There are some good stuff on the show but some bad things as well. ;)

Glad to see ATWT held steady. It was more of a CarJack week. Nuke was only on Monday. Which btw was the lowest of the week. Carly and Jack's trip to Montana was the highest rated show for the week!

    • Valerie Mahaffey Dead: ‘Northern Exposure,’ ‘Dead to Me’ Actress Was 71 I just loved Valerie on my early '90s TV shows. This one gets me.
    • I assume they did at some point during the finale...
    • Kelly was a horribly-written character overall. Just think, two Emmy-winning actresses (including Cynthia Watros, Nina, GH, and Annie, GL) couldn't make it work. Pamela is campy, but so are Dani, Vanessa, Leslie, and Joey. And, I don't want to be too judgy because my love for camp changes depending on the show. OLTL, DAYS, and some eras of GH had me rolling with the camp. However, Passions was overkill and I hated it. And, here, I can take it or leave it. It's ok in small doses (note to RC). I see this show as more of a serious drama.
    • I think one of the reasons that pilot didn't get picked up was because Vicki L was associated more with being Thelma Harper and playing older then she was playing her own age.  It was a blessing it didn't get picked up, or we would have been deprived of the syndicated era of Mama's Family.   Also, worth noting a Pre Night Court Marsha Warfield and pre Perfect Strangers Rebecca Arthur in the cast.  All talented women, but stuck with a bad script. And the other pilot had a pre Fran Fine.. Fran Drescher as the best friend.  I think that pilot might have been picked up if Karen Valentine and Fran Drescher switched roles.
    • So, on rewatch....did Rick and Mindy never have sex?
    • Cady had a fairly posh accent or manner as Rosanna - the character was a 180 from Dixie when she went to ATWT, and it was a huge success initially. As someone mostly only familiar with the nagging, miserable or clueless Dixie of the mid-late '90s and early 2000s it was what convinced me Cady could act. I thought she was incredible in her first run. Later, in future stints, her hair and story and performances were all over the place but a lot of that was down to the show for me. She brought some of Rosanna back with her to Dixie in her ill-fated return and a lot of people didn't like it, which I understood but I did think the character needed some change. I think she's had a little bit of the same persona and arch performance in every role she's played since, including Jennifer Horton at DAYS or Kelly at Y&R, who later became a maniac and was easily the worst work I've ever seen Cady do. It has kind of infected her overall mannerisms, I'll allow that, but I do think she brought Dixie back together as herself while still evolving the character when she returned to AMC again in 2012-13. Nonetheless, for me the upshot is that this is a character where Cady's kookier recent performance style suits the role. But I can understand it grating for people.
    • Yeah, Loretta Swit's passing stings. My late dad LOVED the show (he died last November) and watched it religiously. In first run and repeats.  And I was literally born the day after the show's premiere, so I grew up with it! I know many loved later, softer Margaret, but I loved Early Hot Lips. In real life, I'm all for less misogyny, but to me, the early years of M*A*S*H were just funnier. May Loretta Swit rest in peace. Thanks for all the memories connected to my dad!

    • I agree that she isn't Dixie or Rosanna and shouldn't be acting like either. I just found it strange that she had a naive Southern character and a wealthy urbane character in the past and didn't experiment with accents before (unless I missed it, correct me if I'm wrong). She used to do improv characters on YouTube. She's probably doing something similar here.
