ATWT: Luke Is...

Colonel Mayer waits with a gun a point blank range at the top of a hill. Instincts kick in and Luke & Mayer struggle over the gun. Mayer flings Luke down the hill.

Lily and Holden arrive in time to rush their son to the hospital and throught he makes it through the surgery (and a second murder attempt by syringe-wielding Winston that is thwarted by Lily and Dusty), Luke can't feel his legs.

Noah, meanwhile, learns his father murdered his long lost prostitute mother. Noah feels resposible for the stuff that has happened but Like doesn't blame Noah.

What is the rush with the love making stuff, I am seeing that comment about them having sex being held up all over the place. Hell the two of them are not even in love yet?

Speaking as a gay man myself, most of the gay community jumps into the sack the first night meeting someone (hell even without knowing the guy, a la sites like Manhunt, Adam4Adam, etc) and they think its the norm.

So naturally people are shocked that they haven't done the nasty yet.

Also speaking as a gay man, my straight college roommate was a huge manslut and a lot of my other straight friends were promiscuous too.... to the point where *I* was thinking "how immoral." Kind of the opposite of the situation I expected to encounter in college. I think the gay communities and straight communities are equally slutty, if the gay community seems slightly moreso it's because it has slimmer numbers.

Good point there.

Its just sad that nowadays, even on television, people are expected to jump in the sack at a moments notice. Whatever happened to old fashioned dating and leading up the big event?

Lol, nowadays it's like

Man: Hi

Girl: Hi

Man: You're awesome

Girl: Your hot!

Man: Bend over and let me tickle your fancy.

Girl: Ok!

*insert porn music*

God forbid people actually date, fall in love (or like) and decide to take the next step. Everyone on the soaps should have some kind of STD with all the bed hopping they do.

"Oh my god you're my soulmate #...... I love you, come do me now!"

It's disgusting....<_<

Interesting. I mean, being able to see comments you're blocked from seeing.

You judge the entire gay community by a couple websites? What were you doing there anyway? You'll have to remind me of when I said I was "shocked" that Nuke hadn't had sex. Do the heterosexual characters have to remain chaste? I doubt it. And is it Luke's "first night meeting" Noah? I think not. It was a no-brainer that these guys should consummate their relationship for November sweeps. But not now! None of these protests of sexual immorality came up when Noah mounted Maddie in Branson. Since when do people on a soap wait for love? Please. Now that the world is over the 2 kisses any rational person would see as tame, you have to wonder if the next step in Nuke's intimacy is being held off with this event.

Hes right though...I mean its pretty much the norm these days when it comes to guys and girls. Although it does seem like gay guys are more slutty but that could be due to a lot of things IMO. Pent up emotions/feelings, denying who you are for a long time, etc...

Personally as a gay man I struggle with it all the time. A part of me is just like, "Just fiind a hot guy, do it, get it over with, and move on". The other part of me wants to find a guy that I TRULY like, slowly build up ot that moment, and then have a first experience that its truly tender and sweet (ala movie style...lol).

SO I appreciate all the lovey dovey stuff between Noah and Luke but at the same time I'm absolutely shocked that they haven't had a 1 night stand already...lol.

But yeah if you've been in a gay chatroom online or even on any of those gay websites all you see is sex...age/location/stats....wash, rinse, and repeat.

And about the spoilers...they sound interesting to me. Thats the type of drama I like seeing.

    • I was probably the only one in the target age range at the time who was impressed by that lol.  ATWT seemed to me like GL's older (I know, I know, GL was first by a long shot, but you wouldn't have known it going by the cast members who were on the show by then), stable, more popular sibling, even if that popularity was waning.  As other soaps disappointed me, that sense of consistency started to appeal to me.  Even though I never found ATWT compelling long-term whenever I tuned in in those years, and of course it had as much turmoil behind the scenes as the other network/sponsor-owned shows by then.
    • Lol didn’t they kinda do that when GT’s Phyllis dyed her hair blonde?
    • The Rauch version seemed abruptly truncated in comparison to the full one—like the video and audio weren't actually edited at all for that, they just deleted a whole portion—but with a little money put in upfront to it could have worked.  So many memorable scenes in the early '90s had included that theme as background and/or picked up the next day and segued into that opening...even the brief hint of that music evokes memories for me.  Not to mention, they would have saved money in the long run without having to update cast photos or keep paying for new openings. I doubt you could prove a connection with ratings, but I actually think it's interesting that Y&R has remained the highest rated for so long and DAYS is (was?) one of the last soaps, while both stuck with their original theme songs.  And each theme became part of broader pop culture in some unexpected ways over the years: Mary J Blige, Close Encounters, etc.  Who's to say that kind of free publicity didn't help keep those shows on casual viewers' minds at some point?  But it's also a case of the chicken and the egg - a mainstream entertainment project would probably not give that kind of shout-out to a soap or its theme music if both weren't so familiar to people.
    • Yes to all of this. I mean I wouldn’t have mind seeing Nate find success and media attention with his Ask MD website or whatever but the switch to a media executive was the worst.
    • Honestly, as long as they don't do the shaky cam stuff, I've been thinking it's bad enough now to lean into the Peapack model. Film at a real courthouse on the weekend instead of making a set, a real park instead of Chancellor park....
