If it wasn't for Stephanie's most recently insinuating herself into Brooke's life and stealing her kids, they wouldn't even have to have anything to do with one another. Ridge is with Ashley. Brooke got that loud and clear. What the hell does she have to actually do to get the old trout to leave her alone? It kind of borders on the pathological. Even if these decade old debatable grudges of "she stole Eric", "she (god forbid) slept with my son" and "she stole (rightly and legally won controlling interest of) my company" were worth the aggro, I think the balance has long ago been redressed with the multiple kid stealings, batterings, attempted murders and general marital meddling.
