Members DramatistDreamer Posted December 7, 2016 Members Share Posted December 7, 2016 For awhile, it seemed like Becker and Marian Vajda had a good thing going because Vajda didn't want to travel as much and Becker did lift Djokovic to a more consistent player, but I always thought that Vajda was going to be Djoker's main coach, even with Becker's supercoach status. I don't know what 'upset' that balance or if it was just that in the end, Djokovic felt that Becker was never meant to be longterm (over years and years). Several weeks ago, Becker also claimed that he felt Novak became less motivated with that absence of Federer and Nadal. He either gets so nervous that he lays an egg or runs out of gas and gets injured. The only one he has a shot of winning is Wimbledon because of his serve. Not too surprised about Becker being gone. I read where Novak said he was going to work harder and regain his #1 ranking away from rope a dope Murray. I guess with Fed and Nadal at the end of the career and no one else to get him motivated has affected Novak's game.
