A well placed body serve can truly be effective sometimes.  Venus and Serena have been really effective at serving up some pivotal body serves in their careers, it wouldn't surprise me if Mouratoglou noticed by watching the Williams Sisters use this shot and advised his players on how effective it can be.

The problem with Roger is he hasn't had that bad loss unless you count that loss at the US Open to whats his name....LOL. Pete Sampras had that awful loss at Wimbledon and then retired after the US Open which he won. He knew it was time. Roger is loses to the top 10 players and some outside but hasn't had that loss that says to him....I can no longer win......his career was extended because of Murray and Novak's injuries which gave him 3 extra majors he wouldn't have won if they were on the tour.

Oh please it was a lucky guess. Bad luck to win this tournament anyway. Ask Sascha whose had an awful year after winning it last year. And Grigor...where is he now a days since winning it? I tell you its bad luck.

Whether or not it was a guess, Chit can answer for herself, I think.

You won't get any arguments from me on the value of the YEC though.  On both the WTA and the ATP, the entire tournament means very little, other than points and money.  Still, I think the winners will be pretty happy with both the money and the points.  Especially on the women's side, where the WTA's prizemoney totals eclipsed the men's, lol.

You told me didn't you?...lol

I wanted Thiem to win of course...I guess mainly for the points...lol. Distance himself from Medvedev and Tsitsipas. YEC is a weird tourney...gives out lots of points....isn't a major or 1000 tournament yet its made a big deal because it involves the final 8 yet the last 4 years the#1 player hasn't won it. The last 3 that have won it had bad luck....Murray major injures...Grigor...where is he?....Sascha had a bad year....won just one tournament...a 250 one at that.

And thIs tournament has two trophies...#1 ranking trophy and the winner of the tourney...lol....just too much...

Who TF is gonna watch Davis Cup during the God*amn weekday??!  I tried to stream a match on the "official" website and the livestream was f*cked!  I gave up and I no longer care about Davis Cup.

Sorry but Pique trying to make DC like FIFA World Cup is not a good idea. As it is I won't be able to care about DC until the weekend, Thursday afternoon at the very earliest.

Ugh.  Pre-emptions and Tennis channel is running re-runs.

The women's year end finals were terrible...people retiring various times.  And I just don't think Ash Barty is all that.

Meanwhile how have I missed the hotness that is Belinda Bencic's boyfriend?  He is tasty.

I agree re: Roger.  He's still advancing deep into draws and is still competitive.  I was talking with a friend who follows even more closely than I do and he thought the same thing - I think Tsitsipas, Thiem, Zverev are likely the heirs.  Medvedev is like watchiing paint dry for me.  Kyrgios I think is going to be the player that never reaches potential...I don't know what it is with him...I don't care for him but he has more potential but is such a hothead.  When you get into a fight with the chair umpire over wanting a white towel that you shoulda brought yourself is.....alottttttt.

    • You’d think he would’ve learned after the way Sprina took off.  I hope we get a proper Emma/Gio/Trina/Kai quad, as friends, romantic rivals, etc. In the few scenes that the four of them have had together, I felt like there was a natural chemistry between all of them, similar to the way that Cam/Spencer/Trina/Joss was, in the beginning.  And, it would be a lot better than all this stuff with Kai’s surgery.
    • Hooray we made the exact same critique to Londonscribe!!!!!
    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
