WTF with the WTF? I can’t remember the last time top players performed so poorly. (Maybe at another WTF?) Only Novak and Kevin have stepped up at all. The NextGen guys played better from what I’ve seen.

Thiem looked awful today.....over hitting.....I didn't think Roger played that well either....did Stuart forget that Kei beat Roger? These year ending tournaments rarely work....players are exhausted and you have to play the best right away .....its not like a regular tourney....last year it worked because so many players were out and Grigor was able to win....hell even awful Sock made some noise...the court sucks too...bounces too low and some say its playing faster....I wish they'd find a new venue...I am sure if Rafa were the GOAT...Roger isn't sorry...he's got only one French and he avoids it like the plaque ...this tournament would be on clay like Rafa wants it....I actually think the finals should be on hard court somewhere in Hollywood.....I hate indoors anyway...never liked it....

Wow!  She was a ninja shot maker!

Though tbh, Hsieh kinda snatched the ninja title from Aga over the past year.

This year's WTF seems to have a common theme, mediocre quality tennis matches being played.

Today's match was zzzzzzzzzzzzz

Just too long of a season. That's why the matches have been so bad. I wish someone would wake up and shorten the tennis season.

^Zverev agrees with you.

That said, he’s 21. Somehow Federer and Djokovic consistently managed it over the years throughout their 20s. The game is more physical, yes, but some judicious scheduling would help.

He Is very young but Fed and Joker took a lot of time off and are fresher. Fed doesn't even play the whole season. He takes the clay season off.

Well obviously not now, but they played fuller seasons before (when they were Zverev’s age and older) and still had something in the tank at the WTFs. It meant not playing every little tournament for a buck. Again the game has changed, and yes, the WTFs haven’t always produced great tennis. Basically I think Sascha is ultimately right, but he’s not the greatest messenger.

This Kafelnikov thread is quite a blunt rebuttal.  Interesting read though.
