Barbara is in the shot with Dusty. When Jenn was dying. Dusty is seen going into the room and Barbara is behind him. The flashback photo appears during Dusty's pic and Emily's pic.

For me personally it seems obvious Austin is saying to himself, okay Austin look to the left, now look down and smirk up at the camera. I don't see that with any other people with the new opening, he just doesn't flow naturally is what I am trying to get at. When he does his stance it just looks forced, but again that's just me.

it does grow on you after a few repeat viewings. But it has serious problems.

The actors are shot in that low-grade video tape they were using in the last opening. The CGI visuals look good, but they need to either filter the actor shots so they don't look unnatural, or slow them down. The lighting, or whatever effect they're using on the actor shots also is very horrible. Luke doesn't look like Luke IMO. And in this high def era, It's pretty bad not being able to make out most of Meg's face because it's so blury.

The music isn't bad, it just needs tweaking. The intro is very sleepy and boring, but once Bob & Kim's shot started and the music picked up it was a pretty good theme.

The best photo shots IMO are Carly, Katie and Lucinda followed by Luke. I use to like Michael Park's old pose from the 2000 opening. And I prefered Marie Wilson old pose instead of this one. Even Emily's old photo pose was better than this one. And Dusty's pic looks awkard. He looks out of place. Not sure what he is to do. And Nu Ally's pose is also good. Would put it up there with Lucinda and Co.

There is one thing that I've noticed that is definitely a mark in the "plus" column for this opening --- if you look closely, some of those clips that fade in and out are vintage. Right when Bob/Kim starts, you see a couple kissing -- that's Bob & Lisa and it's from the 1960s. Also, there's a Bob/Kim clip where Kim has her dark hair. One of the Henry/Katie clips has Katie with much longer hair (and semi curly like she used to wear it) and one of the Emily clips has that really short cut she had several years ago. And the Craig/Lucinda clip is vintage from the 1980s -- they're about to kiss. Also, there's a Lucinda/Lily clip from when Lily was a teen/early 20s. I just wish you could see them more.

Neither do I to be honest. Hes a decent actor and hes bringing a lot to show. Hes funny and hes definitely got the part of Brad downpat. I love seeing him onscreen not just because hes a good looking guy but also cuz he has such a natural chemistry with all the actors hes been working with. And contrary to popular opinion he doesn't seem "out of depth" when hes around any of the regulars. Already he just seems like one of the guys.

I don't know where you're getting that from. It just looked like a long dramatic pause that the directors probably directed him to do. He looked okay to me. I laughed at how goofy he was at first though. But again its personal opinion/taste again. I think Van was looking a lil dull there. NuAlison outshone him in the smiling/looking cute department to be honest.

I keep replaying the song over and over again in my head. And I love the golden background the children of the corn theme. So down to earth and cool. I think I'm in love with this new opening. Thanks ATWT!

ATWT finally updates the opening! :)

I love the mixture of the obligatory soap 'pose' shots and background clips. Also like the new music. The only thing, and I think someone else mentioned it, is the obvious difference in film/tape/whatever they use for the 'pose' shots and the rest of it. If they could make that more uniform-looking that would be great.

And Austin Peck looks so lost, lol.

      Yes, Nicole. DRAG HER!
    • Writers: Teresa Zimmerman Lynn Martin Director: Steven Williford
    •  Yeah, he is still dressed like Martin. He looks great, though.  Cute picture. Sober up, cause we need the tea.
    • Well, Claire did rig Rick's test results, but it was to flunk. They actually managed to get his correct results back after they were thrown into Cedar's furnace...I think? Everyone knew Claire changed them and Rick passed so that rewrite never made sense.   I agree. Pratt always seems "edgy" on screen (and her Locker Room interview prooved that it came from her personality.) I liked Claire causeing trouble and love Meta ringing her beads. Its just too bad that Abby left and they kinda just forgot Claire existed.
    • Oh so they did sleep together. The retcon was just the medical boards? That makes sense. I think Susan Pratt, while a good actress, was just an unlikeable presence onscreen and soaps wrote to that most of the time. There was some potential for more with her when she returned in that stint, as Pratt was at least interesting to watch and caused some conflict for the stifled Bauers. Instead of pairing her with Alan and then disappearing I might have had her hook up with Danny. I think there was a lot of flirtation with Bolger's Philip, but they never crossed the line.
    • I haven't seen Melchior in the role, but it would be astounding if she's worse than Linn. Her rivalry with Stephanie was sidelined IMO because Linn was one of the few actors who didn't have chemistry with, nor raise her game, when paired with Susan Flannery. To be fair, she did show some signs of life in scenes opposite Darlene Connelly, but way too little too late. It feels like Bell finally woke up after the Thorne switchover and sidelined the Kristin character with Mick to 1 or 2 appearances a week. As a result, the show improved by leaps and bounds after she was inexplicably at the center of the show for most of 1989. Margo is so much more enjoyable when not tied to that albatross. Even Clarke is watchable with less Kristin interaction. She can't exit stage left soon enough. As for the new Thorne, I agree that Norcross feels like a Forrester a lot more than Thrachta, even if the latter is a better actor.
    • The cast said that scenes were filmed over a few weeks, with a preplanned hiatus in the middle, and it was all out of order.  I would *guess* that they used Chandler when they could get him? They also had to work around Leo Howard getting married around the time these episodes were filmed, but I guess they worked it out since Tate appeared.
    • Maybe there was a scheduling conflict or something. He still has the full time 9-5 in Atlanta, right? Julie was there. Idk if Maggie’s gonna be a part of it though
    • At this point, the best nonpaywall coverage of Los Angeles (and anything political)  is in...the Tennessee Holler https://bsky.app/profile/thetnholler.bsky.social And as always, emptywheel continues to be consistent https://bsky.app/profile/emptywheel.bsky.social
    • Today Monday was the start of people arriving at the funeral, but the service hasn't started yet.  I know this is the nonspoiler thread but I think it's okay to say (in nonspecific terms) that the funeral episodes span a few days.  I won't detail it more here. Just sayin' keep watching.
