Y&R: Victorial Rowell Message to Fans

Featured Replies

In the new SOW article, Rowell said she requested that Y&R let her join the writing team and they declined, which is the so-called "real reason I quit." She wanted to showcase her writing talents, they said no and had they said yes she would have never written her book.

OMG!

Victoria Rowell requested to be on the Y&R writing team? I would've so loved that!

LMAO!

You have more balls than I to say that.

:). It's not like I'm gonna be working for daytime anytime soon. LOL.

Rowell would have made a fabulous scriptwriter for Y&R, but I wonder if that would have diminished her role as Dru on Y&R?! She could have at least been a consultant for the Winters family storylines.

She should try to get a development deal to start her own TV series or soap, with BET, TVOne, or even network television. I mean, she wouldn't be the first(Joanna Johnson, anyone?!).

Sorry if this was posted already. http://victoriarowell.com/home.html

Dear Fans,

THANK YOU for your outpouring of support and outrage over the recent TV Guide (Ellen DeGeneres Cover) remarks by a writer for Daytime. Having submitted myself for consideration for Best Actress, I wish to thank you for your concern over my absence from The Young & Restless pre-Emmy ballot, denying my peers on other daytime programs the opportunity to possibly vote for me in this category. Without question I gave it my all and then some.

My glory is held in equality, merit, fairness, creativity and the pursuit of happiness. Thank you for making my stay on The Young & Restless a great ADVENTURE for me & DRU!!! More importantly, will you do something else for me as a show of your support? It would mean a lot to know that each and every one of my fans, YOU, who have been with me from the beginning in Daytime, Primetime and feature films, owned a copy of my memoir, THE WOMEN WHO RAISED ME, published by HARPERCollins/William Morrow Imprint, available at a BARNES & NOBLE, BOARDERS BOOKS near you APRIL 10th! That would be the best acknowledgement I could ever dream of. Now go get a pen...go ahead, I'm waiting...now MARK your CALENDAR!

Inside you will read about my journey through foster care and how I have been able to navigate New York and HOLLYWOOD - lessons learned from THE WOMEN WHO RAISED ME. You won't be disappointed. Even read a little about my life on a soap opera. Don't forget, APRIL 10TH!!! I will be criss-crossing the nation so check out my web site to see if I am in a town near you. There is a lot on the horizon and I can't wait to see and talk to you all at your local book stores.

Fans like you, money can't buy! For information about the voting practices of the pre-EMMY balloting, write to the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists in Los Angeles or call The Young & Restless at 323.575.4143 or email [email protected]. Who knows, maybe you can make a difference.

See you ALL at BARNES & NOBLE! God Bless,

Victoria Rowell

What a self-absorbed.........actress. She's unbelievable. She wouldn't have half the success if Bill Bell hadn't hired her and to quit like that is tantamount to a toddler temper tantrum. I always thought she was overrated and talk about scene-chewing. Her acting this last year was over the top, more so than Judith Chapman's. She doesn't deserve an emmy. Good riddance. And take your mirror with you, honey....

WOW! That's pretty HUGE! I look forward to reading that article...... In any case, I'm not too impressed by Ms. Rowell's statement. I Love me some VR, which is probably why it's so disappointing that her whole message to fans is trying to sell her book...... I would have been interested to read it anyway, just wish she went about promoting it differently...

She shouldn't have submitted in Lead either. Now I kinda can see what happened- Case & Rowell cancelled one another out and Cooper ended up on top.

If MS can get Lead, VR deserves Lead as well. They are equally talented in my opinion, and MS really hasn't done anything but unfortunately be turned into a Newman Stefford wife last year. The only thing she did worthy of an Emmy was giving birth in an elevator, IMO. And that's not an attack on MS, I think she's fabulous, but I say she AND VR were both worthy for Emmy consideration as Lead actress. And as for Jeanne Cooper, I think she is a fabulous diva, but she really should not have been sumitted for a PreNom because she didn't really do anything. If anyone deserved to be nominated instead of her, it's Rowell.

And I see nothing wrong with VR discussing her book on HER website. This is her website, it's her book, she can do what she wants. I'm sure there is much more to this story, maybe she'll tell, maybe she won't. But like a previous poster said, I'm sure there may be a lot of unpleasant backstage politics going on at Y&R right now and from the looks of things, I don't think I would want to work their either.

I think that's what happened too, but Cooper shouldn't have even submitted for the pre-noms.

As much as I like VR, it seemed to me that she was telling her fans that if they really cared about her, they would buy her book. That's kind of tasteless.

I have to say it, but I tend to agree. I love Rowell, but I'm far from impressed by this.

Yeah, a good chunk of that so-called message to her fans was about pimping her book to them. Geez..at first I thought she was giving a free copy to everyone!

This is quite a sight. An actress is getting criticized for promoting her book on her own website. She said she'd be happy if we, her fans, acknowledged her art and creativity by owning her memoir. She's not screaming at us "IF YOU CARED ABOUT ME YOU'D BUY MY GODDAMN BOOK!". She's simply promoting herself.

It's like, can the woman do anything right in some people's eyes? The tide has seemingly turned so quickly against her, I just don't understand it.

I agree! It's ridiculous. Most soap fans complain when actors leave soaps and talk down to them. Here an actress (who has been very supportive of soaps) has invited her fans to follow her past daytime. If she were joining another soap and asked her fans to follow her, would you guys still be complaining?
