Wow after not knowing where the show would be heading after Jammy left, it seems to be moving at a nice pace. Everyone loves a Spaulding wedding because we all know that it will end to crap. I was hoping for Beth to throw the cake in Dorris's face but I'll take an ending where the big bad wolf himself gets shot. He so had it coming.

Alan got shot!!? Thank you Jesus!!! I want Alan to suffer. Not because I like Tammy all that much, but more because of Cassie. It's just the principal of the matter. I wanted to beat him to death (or at least see Josh do it) when he sent Cassie that bottle of wine. He felt entitled to take someone else's life. I'm thrilled he's getting a taste of his own medicine.

The only negative thing about this is that it will get sympathy for Beth. I was starting to respect her again during the "Beloved" episode when she was so determined to leave Alan. I'm so frustrated that she changed her mind. Who cares if Alan has his sensitive moments? He took out a hit on someone!! Tammy is dead. There's no coming back from that. I don't care how much he suffers or what he loses he cannot be redeemed in my eyes. I guess they don't know what else to do with Alan, but the Beth/Alan relationship has turned my stomach from day one and it's 100 times worse now.

Ashlee had me cracking up today! The faces on the Alan, Lizzie and the guests when she started singing that song. Soap comedy at it's best. GL found a gem with this actress that plays Ashlee. She's a keeper.

I'm seeing Lizzie becoming an alcoholic. She has been drinking an awful lot lately.

Who shot Alan?

I have really enjoyed GL this week. Today was great.

The actress who plays Ashlee is so funny. I loved her showing "Aunt Alex" her business cards. The song was funny. I bet she has done her share of musical theatre.

The reactions during the wedding were funny. I loved Beth sticking her leg out during the proccesional. Alex and Lillian were funny with Alex drinking from her flask.

Interesting...Alan got shot huh? Hmm... I guess I'll have to wait till Youtube picks it up to watch it...

Oakdale, you liked GL?! Hm. I might actually have to start watching periodically again if my fellow Kreizman basher likes it lol.

I'm still on Wednesday's show.

Alan got shot??? This I have to see!!

I'm not too fond of the Beth/Alan relationship, either. I'm fine with Beth yearning to keep the power and control that being married to Alan gave her I don't like how they're making it seem like there's a part of Beth that actually loves the guy.

I don't think anyone shot Alan. I think he set this up to get out his marriage to Doris. Don't the previews say for Monday that he is gone? I think Alan faked this.

I wonder how good her real voice is because it seemed to me that she was trying to make herself sound bad on purpose.

Dan! I was curious if you would post in a GL thread and wondered what you opinion would be.

Yes,I am watching GL a lot closer then I was. And, I am enjoying it a lot more.

I think the reason for that is Tom Pelphrey, all soaps most over-rated performer, is no longer around overacting ,screaming with spit coming from his mouth and snot running from his nose!(My apologies if your eating something as you read this!)

The stupid Reva:I'm dying but don't tell Josh story is over.

Marcy Ryland is really growning on me as is John Driscoll and the girl that plays Ava.

Alan and Beth have had some great material to play and we are seeing Lillian.

Doris and Ashlee are a hoot!

Jeffrey isn't being forced down our throats.

I do miss Blake.

I made the statement about her being in musical theatre because I have been to a lot of local productions because my niece is involved in so many. She does a lot of comedies and I can see her doing a song the way Ashlee did today!

Woah, why didn't they promote this?!

This could be one of those great soap mysteries, so many suspects, so many people who have an honest, real grudge against Alan. And they're all lead characters. Which is awesome.

I'll have to tune in Monday.

I cause this wedding totally by mistake! Why didn't they promote this? I don't even know who Doris is, lol.

Ashlee is FIERCE and I'm so happy that she's a Spaulding now. I think I may start watching the show regularly if this is a show of whats to come. I hated Beth with Alan, it ruined her character.

    • They weren't in town, but Fletcher worked at the paper (and we saw anniversary Journal headlines for the 50th, although I don't remember if Roger was one of them), and I'd think Alex would have at least heard of him due to the damage he did to Spaulding only a few years before her return to the fold. I know I have to remember it's not real life, of course.
    • YES. The videos being uploaded to Spauldingfield are almost to the point where Alan is reintroduced. They're already talking about the guy he pretends to be, and yes, he returns at a masked ball. In fact, that masked ball is almost beat for beat the same as the masked ball where Alex was introduced! Get a new schtick. Before the Kobe era, that's pretty much what they did. Characters would just show up. Maybe other characters would talk about them for a while--the Chamberlains, Tony, Maureen, Andy, Kelly, Carrie--but then they would just appear. When Hope came back, she simply knocked on Bert's door and said something like, "Hi, Grandma, I'm home again." No particular fanfare. Sometimes it would be a bit dramatic--Jennifer and Morgan were introduced when Mike accidentally crashed into their car, for instance, and Alan and Elizabeth were introduced through Jackie's flashbacks when she was remembering giving up Phillip for adoption. Nola was involved in the Roger return. Roger's return in 1980 was very dramatic, but in a way that made total sense. He was trying to kidnap a child, so dressing up as a clown did not seem crazy. The mask bit was not only silly, it didn't even make sense. Alex never knew him, so there was no reason for him to be masked in front of her. Yeah, she knew OF him, but there's that phenomenon called cognetive dissonance. If you see someone outside of an expected situation, you probably won't recognize them, especially if you never met them in person and think they're dead. I bet a CIA spook like Roger would be familiar with that concept. And he didn't have to be skulking around SF for months. Again, I will cut Long a little slack--it was not her idea to bring back Roger, she was told to do it. She never wrote for the character. It was something that was not planned. They originally went to Zaslow to offer him the role of Alan. He, of course, turned them down because that was a ridiculous idea, but then he suggested coming back as Roger. At such short notice, it's not strange his return was not handled well.
    • Eh...but neither had been in town. Know the name Roger Thorpe? Sure. But Alex would have gone crazy trying to memorize all of Alan's co-conspirators/lovers/wives and Fletch didn't even know Roger/Adam was on the island, IIRC. But who knew or should've known each other is always a little dicey when people come back to town.
    • I wouldn't call Tomas' cuts a modern cut. They appear to be a slim/extreme slim cut⏤cut slimmer down the sides, with a higher armhole, which pulls up/out, depending on the fit of the person's body. Again, I feel like Ms Featherstone is buying to fit the wrong parts of the body; instead of buying to fit their widest parts (shoulders), she's buying things to fit their middle/waist (which is the easiest to ultimately fix without a complete re-cut), and it shows in the finished product. And the only reason it irks me is because I worked in suit sales for nearly ten years, and I notice these things immediately. The fashion(s) on this soap are miles ahead of three of the four others (I like the fashions from Y&R), but the tailoring is a choice, especially where the men are concerned.
    • There probably would have been a good chance they knew of him, especially with his ties to Spaulding and his being involved in so much scandal (meaning there would be plenty of photos and articles around they both would have seen), but I agree the mask was silly, clearly just a TV moment.

    • I think all the suits are fit too tight, except for Jon Lindstrom's. DC lawyers/doctors are not all LA fashion elites. Yes, maybe Tomas would have a more modern cut to his suit, but an established guy like Bill wouldn't go around looking like that lonely button on his jacket was ready to explode constantly.
    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
