Transgenders don't go over well in the south...

Well I don't know - I'm in the south and you are right, gays and transgenders aren't really accepted or known about too much. BUT in all the colleges down here, everyone's favorite show is Nip/Tuck and their 2nd and 3rd seasons were heavy on the whole transgender issue...and most of my friends thought it was weird, but were so addicted to the storylines (sure AMC is NO Nip/Tuck) - but I was surprised at how tolerable it is to see on TV over actually seeing in real life. If that makes sense. So I don't think it'll be a big deal, nor will affiliates drop AMC.

With McTavrish at the helm, this storyline is bound to turn into unintentional comedy.

I trust you have figured out what the fangirls will call it already.

OLTL is so poor, it's already been there for some time. Spencer's angry mode (Me hulk, Me smash set), Antonio's angry mode, Evangeline 'is blind' with the biggest eyes in daytime.

The problem is that Bianca still has remnants of being AMC's sole reason for being from her previous run. Putting her in this joke of a storyline may raise eyebrows, but it will end anyone taking the show seriously for years.

I hate to come to AMC's defense, but I hate it whenever these lame late night talk show hosts make little jokes about things that they otherwise would never ever discuss on their shows ever. It annoys me half to death.

Wow, AMC is doing a transgender storyline? This is the first I've heard of it. That's interesting... but the way soaps are these days, these kinds of stories will only come up short, regardless of which soap it is.

 to Letterman... what did he say about Days' "ghost writer?"

I'm not sure what he said about the Days 'ghost writer', but he did mention Days tonight. His Top Ten list was the top ten shows on the all new Miami Gay TV station, WGAY-TV, which will hit airwaves soon...

I forget what number it was, but the show was "Gays of Our Lives".

As for this AMC thing, I think it would go a lot lot better if they didn't name the character Zarf. That's worse than Spike.

TVGuide.com: Love it. Speaking of names, does Zarf have a real name?

Carlson: He was born in Indiana with the name Freddie Luper. Zarf's knowledge of her transgender identity began when she was very little. Zarf's parents also knew there was something different about their biological little boy. That's why he ran away... I'm sorry, that's why she ran away as a teen.
