Final nail in the coffin for McTrash. Brooke is AMC royalty. Its disgusting that the talentless hack has failed to come up with 1 storyline for Barr to carry since McT came back in 2003. I'm shocked.

Barr's far too talented for AMC in its current state but its a sorry state of affairs to see one of the show's greatest stars and arguably its greatest actress just leave.

Sadly I don't see that happening. I don't see her ever switching coasts so that leaves out Days, Passions, Y&R or B&B. I don't think the NBC soaps would have the budget now to hire a star of her calliber anyway. If GL gets Vincent Irizarry that will get a big part of their budget. And I just don't think that ATWT has that big of a budget for casting either. They usually hire vets but only vets of say Jeff Meek or Marie Wilson who are soap veterans but still not that well known or popular. I think gone are the days of them picking up someone like Cady McClain, Hunt Block or Mary Beth Evans like they have in the past.

This is really, really sad news. And it makes me so angry that TIIC want to put her on recurring but they keep around Colby, Sean, Annie, Josh, etc. Brooke is just as important part of AMC's history as Erica is, IMHO. I just wonder who will be the next to go.

As I stated in another post, this show is on it's last leg and this just proves it. First Jill Larson and Tonya P. are reduced to recurring status and then VI is let go and now Julia Barr. What's next? When it's tme for Susan Lucci to renew her contract is AMC gonna ask her to be recurring? I wouldn't put it past these fools.

Not a huge shock. Julia Barr will be missed greatly but I am proud of her for not accepting the recurring status offer. Not giving Frons the satisfaction. Julia was doomed the day Frons took over, that became quite evident. An AMC without Brooke is hard to picture :(:(

That's F U C K I N G horrible and I am not even a frequent AMC watcher. There best actress is bailing out, damn I feel sorry for AMC. ALthough most speculated this, it's still awful to know that a thirty year veteran is leaving. Hopefully AMC will give her a great send off.

"It has been a wonderful job for me on every level, and a great ensemble of actors with whom I had the pleasure to work. I am so proud to have been a part of a show that was once a television icon. I want the fans to know how much I truly appreciate all of their love, support, loyalty and enthusiasm over the years."

I oved how she said, now I'm reading between the lines here, that the show TOTALLY SUX! ha!

    • Rebecca Hollen's (Trish) last episode was #9702 from July 11th, 1985
    • Yeah.  As one of the biggest John and John/Marlena fans here I don't like this exit.  I know the circumstances were difficult and Drake apparently signed off on this.  I think him dying while killing Orpheus was the way to go.  There isn't a scenario I can imagine John not immediately running home to see Marlena before he helps Bo.  It's very difficult to watch his family wait for him and be so excited.   I am positive the aftermath will be great.  I just don't love the exit.
    • Wouldn't the plan have been to pair Denny and Steve for a Steve/Denny/Carrie triangle and try to recreate the Tess/Bill dynamic from their time at Love of Life? Or was it just a short term thing like her role on ATWT? Maybe Toni wasn't interested in contract gigs?
    • Gail was around months before. I think she was added by the Elmans, who introduced Scotty and David Hamillton, Lamont and Katie Corbin and Alan Quartemaine, all characters Marland worked with and developed. The Ellmans were only around for 6 weeks or so but introduced some major characters. Unlike other writers who come in and have mass cast changes, Marland worked with what was there.
    • I am not a big Anna/Duke fan, but that was an awful return.   IB/FH certainly are better together than Anna/Valentin though. I could care less about the tango.  I don't know why some actors are doing multiple performances anyhow lol.  I certainly don't need the Chase variety show hour. IIRC, Jonathon Jackson can sing just as well as JS or Bradford, but I guess Lucky and head nurse Liz aren't cool enough to get an invite.
    • Rebecca Hollen's last airdate seems to fall between July 4th, 1985 and July 15th. Reva tells Trish she's in love with Kyle and leaving HB on July 4th. The Lewises (minus Trish) go to Cross Creek to celebrate Billy's birthday (this year, other years it's in March) to "accept" Kyle as a Lewis the week of the 15th.
    • I've said this before, but I strongly suspect Carlivati would've just... brought Duke back again if he'd stayed at the show long enough. They really fúcked up Duke's return leaving him moribund and pathetic after he returned, whereas Ian Buchanan IRL is anything but. I have no real interest in another return for him but honestly Zombie Duke Round 2, with a little life in him again, could not be worse than most of Anna's dreadful pairings since, and given Tristan and Robert are clearly not an option. But I do think she should have a new, better man.
    • Am I wrong or was Gail (and putting her with Lee) a Marland addition?
    • Brooke Logan agrees with this statement.

    • I loathed Duke and especially loathed Anna being with Duke.   I hated that the tango was one of their things.    I don't care about Chase one way or another.   I would have enjoyed finally Finola dancing as Anna without Duke.  But it wasn't that important to me.
