Y&R Discussion for the Week of October 30th

Lily: Blackmail? Do you think she was being blackmailed?

Devon: I hope they got all her money.

There was something about the way Bryton said it that just cracked me up so much. I love his line delivery, he is especially great at displaying his hatred for Carmen. I also loved Nikki's, "yeah, the kind of gesture you give someone who just cut you off" line, lol. The dialogue is really fantastic.

That Maggie cop needs to tone it down a couple of notches. I don't mind her but she could get annoying QUICK.

Oh I hated this cow! She reminded me of Michelle Stafford in looks and she was all up in Dru's face just like that heffa Phyllis! I already hate her, but the actress is doing a good job.

I like how the Winters are finally up front and center storyline wise, but I hate the storyline. It's almost like the writers couldn't find anything else to do so they throw them into the middle of a murder mystery. LML is so proud of this storyline. She hypes this storyline as one of the best murder mysteries on daytime. As of yet, I'm unimpressed. This is the same woman that hyped up Brad's history storyline and we all seen what a big flop that was.

I like the storyline...in theory. I'm also impressed that Y&R has the Winters in the center of such a storyline (won't find that on any other soap except for Passions). I think this storyline looks great on paper, but the execution is ALL WRONG.

1. They should have spaced the time out between Neil and Carmen's affair (they had an affair...I hate that they say he just kissed her...that's cheating). It should have been a slow build and it should have been significant.

2. Dru and Carmen should have been adversaries for a while longer to build up the hate and animosity.

3. They should have given Carmen a real personality. Show us that she's sneaky every day, not one time in 6 months.

4. Take time to build a suspect list...don't build a suspect list in ONE DAY!

5. The Winters reconciliation should have taken longer...what was it a day or two? Come on.

Those are just some of the problems with the execution. The story seems thrown together...JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER Winters storyline nowadays. I think that LML has great ideas, but her execution sucks and unfortunately for Latham and her weaknesses, great execution is what makes Y&R one of the best and she's not up to snuff yet.

Devon has been cracking me up lately, with some of the stuff she says.

Who ever stopped Carmen dead in her tracks did one thing: stopped her butt from milking more money from another company.

I can say thins right now....I don't like that new detective....Her voice is going to grate on my nerves like nails on a chalkboard. Add her annoying attitude with that of the cocky, smug Will Bardwell, and that's a hot mess that is going to drive me batty

I forgot that the Granville Global twist was pretty well done.

The new detective reminds me of Danni (Stabler's new partner) on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit....LOUD and has an EDGE.

I like this new detective. Is her name Maggie? QUick! Pair her up with Paul.

Every relationship that Paul has had so far has fizzled....pairing her up with him will make it fizzle too.

Plus, he's most likely going to be more involved on the Lauren/Michael front as well as in that stupid reliqury crap again.

I don't know why they dropped Kara.

At first I thought this woman was Kara, but then I remembered the casting news about this new detective coming to the show.

I would love to see Paul in Lauren and Michael's storyline. Paul clearly still has feelings for Lauren and feels Michael isn't the best husband for her. There is so much conflict there for Lauren's safety.

Me neither.

I just might have to start watching this week's episodes... this Carmen murder stuff has really intrigued me.

And if I might add:

CARMEN IS FINALLY DEAD! AMEN!!! :D

Ha.. feels good to get that off my chest. B)

LOL I must have been the only one here who liked Carmen most of the time! But even with that said, I'm glad they are finally getting past that phase and onto who done it! I can't wait to get home and watch the show from today!

This Carmen murder thing is so stupid. Aside from the Winters, none of these suspects have a valid reason for killing her. It is SO contrived how they had all these people target her and out to get her. Stupid.

That new detective is annoying...when finding detectives that are going against folks in Genoa City, they really know how to pick folks that grate on my nerves....

I remember not being able to stand Det. Webber...he was so annoying to me

It is something really shady about Mr. Kim. He was way too happy Carmen was dead, especially since he never really talked to her. I have a feeling that if he's the one that killed Carmen or had something to do with it, he's gonna try and take Jack down with him.

Det. Maggie Sullivan has been on the show, um, one day, and already, I can't wait to see her go.

Devon's mouth is going to be the one that messes things up for Dru....Lily, Daniel and Devon are the most loudest folks in the coffee shop, it's no wonder nobody can miss out on what's going down with the whole Carmen Mesta Murder.
