This was another example of how ridiculous Stabler's absence is. I wish they'd just say he died or something because there is no way at all that he wouldn't have been in that courtroom to support Olivia. Or more likely he'd be visiting Lewis in jail making threats and screwing up the case. But to not even have him mentioned? Even if it's just Cragen saying that he spoke to Eliot's new captain and he's still undercover or something. But don't just pretend he never existed especially when they mention him on the stand.

I wasn't expecting much from her appearance. This was all about Liv and Lewis. Her hair is gorgeous but I continue to be amazed at how the woman. doesn't. age.

Meloni seems to have put SVU behind him and negotiations year after year were always dramatic with him, but I would just love for one eppy! Just one damn eppy where Stabler is back. We know that cockroach will return, can Stabler kill him? We've already seen the showdown with Benson. It is now time for someone to break this guy into 3 equal pieces no questions asked.

This past episode was horrible. There is no jury in America that wouldn't have convicted that asswipe.

I see they set it up perfectly for him to get out in May.

No judge would have let someone yell and go in on a witness like that. This episode was abysmal.

Wow! What did I watch? The search is on for a missing kid who landed in the hands of a pedophile and child pornography ring. Did they kidnap the kid? Nope. Mommy had a convenient breakdown and gave the kid to this group. That's not the worse part. She got the kid back at the end of the eppy because daddy promises to be home more and mommy says she'll never do it again. Huh? Benson walks off and tells this woman that she is lucky there are no better options for the kid? Again, huh? There are no better options than a wacko who delivers the kid to sex offenders? OMG! I had to go back to the beginning to make sure the mother in the beginning was the same woman at the end because I could not believe she was given the kid back and didn't even have to fight for him.

This show really has expired!

I agree. This show has really gone off the rails. Oddly, my biggest problem is the villains are cartoonish. This guy who was arrested (who had faked paralysis for years) was more concerned about leaving that feast (talk about gorging) than being arrested. Patricia Arquette's characters was a complete joke. In the old days, they would have written some nuance. The mother would have been shown to be a basket case or something. I think Ron Carlivati is writing SVU now. It's a joke.

The only really good thing the show has going for it (IMHO) is the chemistry between Benson and Barba. I don't like romance or even hints of it on procedural shows, but they're my one exception. They're great friends, and have such a mutual trust and respect for each other. Not to mention that they have great sexual tension - and it's totally not there with Cassidy.

When the show finally ends, and when Benson finally rides off into the sunset, I hope that Barba will be the one by her side. wub.png

Other than that, I agree with everyone. Any edge the show once had is long gone - plus I miss Munch, his snark and his conspiracy theories. Thank goodness for reruns!!!

So let me see if I get this right...

IAB has footage of Detective Amanda Rollins about to give a guy a BJ in a seedy club because she is $15k [which is really not that big of a deal] in the hole from gambling debts, and she needed to prove to him that she can be trusted? IAB, after a "convincing" argument from an undercover NYC cop, says "okie dokie...go back to work".

What's left to say about this show?!

She should have been suspended if not fired and ordered to supply proof of help for her addiction.

They left Tucker out of it for a reason. There is no way he would have let Rollins go back to work. Hell, he brought Benson in and took her badge for less.

It was absolutely ridiculous and possibly one of the worst eppies this show has ever produced!

And It really was a cop out.

I love the hell out of my girl Kelli Giddish but the one I couldn't take my eyes off of was Sherri Saum. When she was all badass and cold, I thought to myself, "Now there's RJ Gannon's daughter." laugh.png It's amazing because I watch The Fosters and she plays this all-loving earth mother type yet I had no problem seeing her as this stone cold bitch on SVU.

As for the story, yeah, it was a cop out but I loved seeing Fin really trying to be there for Rollins.

What the hell is up with Amaro? He's moving into this creepy stalker mode. First with Maria, then Rollins. I'd like to think that his line to Liv about being extra careful after her abduction was true but there also seems to be more going on there. We don't know what he's been doing to Maria that has made her keep calling Liv and I'm not sure how he's going to react now that he knows about it.

Saum was really good.

Seems like they are trying to create an Elliot to Rollin's Benson with Amaro, but he looks like a fool. First he was way too clingly with Benson and now, all of a sudden, he's over protective of Rollins. Not interested. There is only one Benson & Stabler

    • Am I the only one who hates how this show treats Claire? She's a glorified extra This girl comes from stock the granddaughter of the shows 2 biggest supercouples and they treat her like she's a throw away. Her pop pop is dying/dead and her other grandpa is saved awoken from his coma, alive because of the selfless heroic actions of her maternal grandpa

There is no reason why she wouldn't be here to say goodbye. Olivia Rose isn't doing anything I bet she love to come back and say goodbye. I just don't understand the motivation & thought process when it comes to some decisions. This show is probably still salty about how they didn't succeed in trying to assassinate Claire, on the alter of her dicktimized bird brained aunt & her serial killer boyfriend/husband with the audience.  Also unless they're keeping it under wraps Sami not being back in time to say goodbye to John is a huge fumble. If it had to do with Ali availability then they should've pushed back the fallout of Johnny learning about his sperm donor raping his mother and the subsequent confrontation with Elvis & Sami to conceded with John's coma & death so Sami/Ali were here for it. It's just a huge piece missing from this. As much I hated Sami's overdramatic looney tunes treatment of John long after she was in her 30s, became a grandma, her & John had one of the best dynamic complex heartbreaking father/daughter relationship's on both daytime and the show. It would be full circle as John's end of watch nears, that Sami apologizes for her treatment of him & admits she does love him. He was just as much as a father to her as "Roman", in a impossible situation that turned everyone lives upside down(The 2 Romans, Roman Intitial Death, The Affair)through no fault of his own. How fitting if she called him dad one last time & how thankful she is for his unconditional support and love. He squeezes her hand one last time, calls her Samantha and finally let's go after hearing the words he spent decades longing for in my eyes
    • So around '84 is when things get bad?
    • There are details through the thread, but yes, as mentioned, she hated Ellen Wheeler, and lambasted her for crying a lot, for her decisions with firing and Peapack, etc. Back in the day she also hated Pam Long, who created Reva and gave Reva all of her best material. The producers or writers she liked most seemed to be those who saw Reva in the most generic of molds, although she likely doesn't see it that way. She was OK on OLTL; I think @Vee could probably give a better summary. She was earthy and added her usual hard work to some trash material. There was nothing special going on, as yet again with patron saint Carlivati it was all plot, no character, and he cared more about writing for a cutesy child character.  You're right about what they could have done with Reva. Reva, Erica, and any women who are in story long enough face this problem. The biggest difference is Reva was allowed to age (even with the post-menopausal baby), which Erica was not.
    • Cali was the only Paulina for me on AW.  Was Judi Evans such a “name” that Cali was fired for her?  Judi basically played an entirely different character.  She could’ve been Nancy!
    • They were great together. Barbara was way too high maintenance for any man. You know Henry divorced her a$$ after about a year.  And, here’s an example of what I was talking about…
    • I watch every day as well, and I am enjoying the show. There's always room for improvement. TBH, things are much different from what I expected reading the character breakdowns. That could be a good thing! I'm willing to let them find their groove and figure out what kind of show it wants to be. The core and underlying theme. -I echo what a few others have said: The show is lacking in real romance and cross-starred lovers. But that tracks from (MVJ) experience cause the bell soaps are not good with romance IMO. -I have a feeling it's being built before our eyes, but we're missing that rival family. -I would prefer more variety of storylines. Good ones that could weave together the whole town.   -I struggle connecting to the male characters. So I hope they get a clear handle on them soon. Most of them feel underwritten and one-note. -Find a better purpose for Naomi. I fear she will be the first Dupree dumped. I completely agree. June's story does nothing for me. And what if she turns out to be Tyrell and Samantha's mom? They are very close to leaving high school. why should I care? If she turns out to be related to Hayley also, what's the long-term story, and why should I care? I believe Hayley can work on her own as a vixen. Does she need a sounding board? Sure, but you can accomplish that with an outsider's friend group. I didn't think I would be saying this, but I would entertain Kat having a forbidden affair with Jacob. Both Naomi and Jacob need something to do other than case-of-the-month storylines.
    • That would really just be a redux of the Leslie/Eva story. I really hope they don't go there. My guess for the storyline with Anita that we have "never seen before on daytime" is that it may be a "me, too" story. Anita did unspeakable things to get ahead because of some disgusting producer, and the other person she left behind was a boyfriend who cared about her very much.
    • Reva and Zimmer needed strong adversaries/scene partners. It would dampen the negatives associated with the character and Zimmer's self-admitted excesses. I think that's why she was a bust on SB. I don't know how she did on her return to OLTL because I was not watching at that point. The problem for me with Reva is the same situation with Erica Kane. It ended up being variations of the same storyline year after year. I think if the show had truly broken up Reva and Josh and put them in other viable relationships it would have freed up the characters to have better storylines and character growth. Instead, it's as if the characters were stuck for decades.

And I know I'm not ready and have not been since the official news. That was my first couple on that show. You won't be alone.    When you put it like that...same. Like I say in the thread when I'm more interested in what people are wearing than the stories...red flag. No momentum. Just stalling.      lol.
