Jack, I have to disappoint you: I'm not watching it. I'll wait until it ends so that I can view the whole season in one session.

I still believe it is a sprawling mess.

To think I once hoped this show might have been up there with Lost as the most compelling...

I still remember the disappointment this show gave me.... I watched all of Season 1, week by week, religiously; I had my issues with the show, particularly with the fact that it's characters were characterless--the only distinguishing feature they had was their powers--but I took the show for the eye-candy it was. I waited a whole season for the climax of the story--the human bomb, etc.--and then the season finale came and it was one of the biggest disappointments/cop-outs I had ever, ever seen. I watched a couple of episodes into Season 2, but I just had to give up on this show...

Back then, I didn't know about Fuller and his input on the show. Later, I discovered and fell in love with PUSHING DAISIES, even though I was not a regular viewer. Then, I found out that Fuller left the show just before the season finale. And I realized the impact the man must have had on the show. In other words, get rid of Kring--who turned this show into a MESS--and get Fuller.

Damn that sucks. They were the two main directors. I always liked Producer/Directors or "home base" directors. I guess they're just going to use freelance directors now.

It also sucks that Kring is not going to be fired. The show is in desperate need of a new showrunner.

The ending was never a problem for me. What did people expect? I thought it was good, even very good. However, there were a whole lot of other problems plaguing this show: suddenly everyone started having special abilities, the abilities themselves were laughable, the tone shifted from extraordinary things happening to ordinary people into a total parody of that, it was just "shocking", extraordinary things all the time. It started to lose a unique purpose, even today I have absolutely no idea what this show was about and what they want to explain by the end of the series, it just got lost in a plethora of silly plots.

Then Sylar happened — I'm sorry, but it's him and not Claire that's killing this show. Zachary Quinto can't act. There. Then Japan happened, one of the worst stories ever told on a primetime TV show...

It's getting very, extreeeemely close to being un-reshapable. These show runners need to get their act together and whip this into shape. This very minute. The filming starts in June so I hope some of these problems have been addressed.

Sylar is eating the show no two ways about it. They needed to kill him off as soon as season one ended. But instead they made him indestructable. Bad choice. I love ZQ but Sylar is ruining the show and the show in general just has no direction and is it just me or does the cast seem to be shrinking. There are little to no significant players other then the Petrelli's: Claire, Peter, Nathan/Sylar and then other random people who don't really matter or don't have signficant story: HRG, Matt and Ando/Hiro.

The other cast members are used as day players. FauxNiki doesn't matter and neither does Mohinder. Our heroes don't matter and they are all related to one another. I have no clue where this series is going. Which is sad because everything from Cold Snap until the second to last episode was rather watch able.

They've killed all the great characters (like Niki, Simone and Isaac, all of whom I love; especially Simone). Then they've added a platoon of these silly little cartoon characters and started toying with them like children, assigning all sorts of hilarious powers and all... I also liked that omniscient girl, Charlie was it?

Instead of focusing on humanity of these people, they've soaked us in these exceptional abilities and it all went south...

That Usutu guy and the whole African ark...

Mohinder also had potential, but they just kept writing him as an idiot.

    • Amanda Setton and Rena Sofer was once again really good in today's episode.  As a Lucky/Liz fan, I didn't like their scenes either.  And they are nowhere near a proposal because they haven't been given a real story.
    • I don't think Lulu is written that badly.  Lucky they do seem to have no real interest in. I wonder if this is another story they have decided to wrap up abruptly as it makes zero sense to have what would have clearly been serious conflict between Liz and Lucky just get shrugged off by her. Maybe the intense viewer negativity toward Kristina got through to them.
    • This is what kills me about the complaints that the show is moving too slow. I don't think any of the other soaps has revealed as much as BTG has in the same time frame. Not only are stories moving but it's rotating as well. Y&R has been teasing that Dumas character since February with no reveal in sight. B&B was one day for the majority of May with very limited storylines. GH had a strong final week of May but the storylines had been dragging for months prior to that. I appreciate that BTG doesn't focus so much on recapping and keeps the stories moving. I have anticipation about certain ones like Martin and Anita's secrets but I'm not worried about it because the writers have proven they will keep these stories moving at a strong pace.
    • John and Marlena's love story is over.

As I started watching in 1993, and they became my favourite couple because of storylines like The Affair, Maison Blanche, The Possession, Aremid, and The Secret Room - just five straight years of amazing stories.  The funny thing is, in all of those stories, John and Marlena were never truly together, but I was fine with that because I knew how much they loved each other - Deidre and Drake just had so much chemistry and made it so believable.   Deidre was fantastic today, especially in that last scene where Marlena told John it was okay for him to rest now.  I agree with @j swift, that having a body for Marlena, and everyone else, to say goodbye to was the right choice, as well as just having Marlena there alone as John dies.   Marlena: John, I love you so…. John: I love you too, Doc. Marlena: I need you to listen to me.  You have put up the bravest fight I have ever seen. The thing is I….I know you’re weary, I know you’re suffering…..If you need to go, it’s okay. I know that you’re worried me, about the children….You have given us all the love we will ever need. We will always have you in our memories. We will always hold you in our hearts. So…it’s okay if you rest now. You can rest now.   Bo and Hope are my second favourite couple, so for them to be part of this episode made it even more special.  I loved the inclusion of Zack - in the flashback and in the family scene at the Brady Pub.  John dies and Bo wakes up.  Two great love stories intertwining and showcased (loved the flashbacks!) in today's very emotional episode.     Great recap @Bright Eyes
    • Given the way both Lulu and Lucky are written I can guess.  Do Lulu and Lucky even speak?  Lol Liz is useful to prop one of Frank's pets when they are failing, I suppose. It's shame GH loves to do the opposite of what fans want.
    • Lol. I understand. For me, it's just John and Marlena are the couple that introduced me to DAYS and Young Me had such a crush on him since I saw his attractive self at Maison Blanche. And whether I regularly viewed or not, I always tried to stay checked in to how they were doing. Also Drake always was a cool man in interviews so I know today's episode is going to hit where it hurts.   I know I will have to watch eventually. Work, life, and internet connection are setbacks without me stalling. And I can say that I'm stalling somewhat. At least...like GH episodes on my system...I have some time before they get deleted, but I'm going to be a sobbing mess.

he’ll talk more as you continue your viewing  it’s such a jarring transition in ‘93 to Courtland Mead with his hammy sitcom delivery
    • Frank does not care about them and resents having to write for at least one of them.
    • I’m watching it tonight. I’ve been watching the new episodes simultaneously as I catch up in May
