August 6, 201114 yr Member Sad to hear it's ending next season even though I more or less gave up after Season 5. My question is, who will be running the show? I am hoping we'll see a better Housewives.
August 7, 201114 yr Member I'll also miss the show. Of course it became weaker and weaker as time went on, but what show doesn't? I loved all the seasons except season 5. That one was dull and the mystery sucked. Killing off Edie was another mistake. She never lived up to her full potential. Seriously, the cast has always been way too large, especially in season 6. For example, I never understood why they introduced Ana Solis and promoted her to a starring role only to phase her out after a few episodes. Then she was written off mid-season. I thought she was a great character and way more interesting than those talentless Scavo children. The wonderful Alfre Woodard was also terribly misused, as was Katherine whose character was written so inconsistently. I loved the Applewhites, the Mayfairs and the Bolens but because the cast was already so crowded the writers obviously couldn't use them properly. My favorite couple will always be Gabrielle and Carlos.
August 7, 201114 yr Member TVGuideMagazine TVGuideMagazine The final season of #DesperateHousewives will go back to the roots of Mary Alice, says Cherry #tcas11' TVGuideMagazine TVGuideMagazine "I have an idea for the last episode where I want to pay homage to anybody that's been on the show" says Cherry #DesperateHousewives #tcas11
August 7, 201114 yr Member "Paying homage" scares me because for this show that can easily mean killing everybody off in a fiery stunt. Or, better yet, watch it all be a dream. Mary Alice didn't really kill herself. Edited August 7, 201114 yr by All My Shadows
August 7, 201114 yr Member soapsindepthabc Soaps In Depth ABC Marc Cherry tells us that he had lunch with Susan Lucci. She probably won't be doing Housewives, but "hopefully something in the future.”
August 7, 201114 yr Member Season 2 was just heinous. They're lucky that they lasted after that. I also hate what Marcia Cross did to her face. It's hard to believe someone who was so vibrant on Melrose Place turned into such a lifeless mannequin.
August 8, 201114 yr Member I'll also miss the show. Of course it became weaker and weaker as time went on, but what show doesn't? This is something Mary Tyler Moore has to be proud of. Her show stayed strong right to the end.
August 8, 201114 yr Member ^ I'm sure that people will argue with me on this, but I think "Friends" accomplished that task as well.
August 8, 201114 yr Member That's a great promo. Really goes for the nostalgia, which is a very smart move. FRIENDS kinda lost it in its last two seasons but it was still a very good, entertaining show.
August 8, 201114 yr Member This is something Mary Tyler Moore has to be proud of. Her show stayed strong right to the end. I like to see shows go out on top. MTM lost a lot of its audience the last couple of years but the show always maintained its quality along with wonderful characters and terrific acting. I look at a show like ER which I loved its first maybe 7 years. Then they got rid of one core character too many, the one that sort of held the show together and relied on gimmicks its last few years to succeed. It sort of got back its identify its last year but it really deteriorated its last few years. I think DH has had a good long run and whats wrong with a show ending? Everything ultimately runs its course.
August 8, 201114 yr Member Nicolette was on The Today Show and she was asked if she would come back for the final season. She looked very bitter about it and said her character is dead. Kathie Lee said I guess that means no to which Nicolette didnt respond.
