September 8, 200619 yr Member IMO I think Frons is treading on thin ice, hence the interview(s) he did for soapnet.com I'm not sure but has he ever done video interviews like that in the past? I think he was doing some damage control big time

I think he was doing some damage control big time At this point, he's becoming enough of a liabilty that it is better for him to keep his mouth shut. No, I think the video interviews are another part of the marketing, as in Yahoo's and CNN's the NINE, etc. and probably how he plans to replace the marketing use of SoapTalk.
September 8, 200619 yr Member And then, he's the jack@ss who hired McT for AMC...so for ABC he ultimately all of what's happened to AMC belongs in his lap. How that fall has manifested itself specifically on the show day-to-day and storyline-to-storyline is still McT's. Which leads to me agreeing with the following statement: I know I'll get reemed out for this but I think from his naive POV that move actually made sense. He looked at when AMC was near the top last--why McT was writing.... So he hires her--just like he did with Malone and Griffith at OLTL (and Griffith at least publicly stated he had to leave basically because of Frons budding in). Wasn't Minei Behr almost chosen as head of ABCDaytime? I know peopel weren't so pleased with some of her work at ATWT but.... ah if only
September 9, 200619 yr Member I want to know if he is as stupid as he suggests or if he simply reads from the cue cards he's handed? Has he had a successful idea ever as far as content? I get that he's got some interesting marketing concepts but don't you have to have a product to market? Who cares if AMC is podcast if you don't want to watch the show?
September 9, 200619 yr Member Frons has basically insulted every minority group out there and you would think that Disney would frown on that, but alas they don't...they promote him and that leave me to wonder about them.

I don't disagree with you but I don't think it was her previous ratings success though it could definitely have been a contributing factor. I think it was that infamous story bible with the Bianca Rape story (rumored to have been switch from Kendall, the original victim n the Cascio-Rayfield version--that wouldn't have appealed to me either) Meggie had it all mapped out and tied up with a pretty, headline-making offense. Plus the story had everything that appeals to Fronsie on a marketing, buzz-creating level. It was too sweet to resist and with the C&R ratings less than he wanted (but not horrible but I can't really remember the numbers), it was an easy sell, imo. I always kind of thought he didn't allow his original Sex and the City-type vision for the show to develop into its potential (and over-marketed with The Fusion product line and Sexy Man {Ew} Contest) The writing did need tinkering to increase inter- and intra-familly interactions. As ham-fisted as they were, there were some attempts at diversity. I liked the original vision as a whole. The execution and the over-focus on competitive man-gettin' was tiresome, however. McTavish writes like Fronsie thinks and likes to sell. Sensation! Terror! Horror! Angst! Perverted! Something Easy to Get Across in a 30 Second Soap Net Promo!
