Aggh did you need to remind me of Buzz and his snot! Justin Deas was a thorn in my GL watching time.(I swear he was on just to chase me away) up until the very end when they threw him into Van and Billy's wedding!!! Disagree on the only "intact" family being the Coopers. They had the Marlers there the whole time and Ross and Blake were the only couple I can remember having three kids produced in the same relationship (non withstanding the oddity of thinking that one of the boys was Rick's and that Christina was born and her parents were seperated.) With the addition of Dinah and bringing in Roger's son (it wouldnt have been Sebastian in my world but...) you have a family unit with a matriach and patriarch with teenagers and all their angst, with adult trouble makers involved and the addition of appearences of sarcastic Grandma Holly. If I were head writer I would have had Rick move into the lighthouse after he divorces Mel (they never worked, and with no Bauers around Rick worked best as a supporting actor like Frank) and Ross and Blake move into the Bauer house (the set was there, Blake basically grew up a Bauer tho the writers ignored it) and center the show around them as the core family. I thought LK would find her stride as a saucy sexy earth mother, and of course Ross had authentic ties to EVERYONE on the canvas, as opposed to Buzz being shoved into relationships as in being Alan's antagonist etc. It would be nice to see a committed married couple who still liked to hit the sheets. The recurring joke would be the Marlers kids being embarrassed by their parents "affectionate" relationship. I don't remember, how was Holly responsible for Jenna's death? I didn't care as each time I saw her Buzzard was in tow and I cant forget those months we had of her over a vat of skin cream that was an actual freakin' storyline! I liked Edmund and thought DAM was damn sexy, but never could accept a murderous psycho as a villain. His intro on the show was trying to kill a baby for God's sake! However, I would have made him Jonathon's father.. I don't know how I would do it as how could Reva forget that..though I could see her tieing one on and having it off with Eddie and forgetting it...I mean, who wouldnt want to get it with Eddie being married to Richard the Dull?I just did not see he and Cassie together especially since they made him so bland. I think LW works best as a brittle shrew so I woulda had Cassie gone "bad" and embarked on a sick sexual relationship with Eddie..do not tell me the girl did not pull tricks when she got off that stripper pole...she was straight out trailer trash and that version I could have liked. I actually liked Beth and Coop, he was so boring but he perked up and their relationship was kind of sexy. It was nice to see a couple just having sex who liked each other but were not some great Twu Wuv...and really, who would not hit Beth she was looking great!

Yea, I never thought Hurst's work was THAT great. She WAS better then what came before but yes, anything would be better. And she was proud of saying that the frreakin' Coopers were her favorite family, as they were like a warm blanket to her? Really, loud spitting Buzz, boring Frank, strident Harley and dimbulb Marina??? REALLY???

LOL..sadly I can't remember where my keys are but I remember that commercial and that face! Bette and Joan would stop their "Feud" to applaud Fulton's entrance..."Lisa is BACK and in the thick of things!"complete with hat, fur, and the corpse of her millionaire husband. I wonder if her dislike of the Whit actor had anything to do with her, "Ewww something smells in here..oh its Whit...will they ever get the stain out of that rug.." look?

Agreed, the show was turning around, and believe it or not, would have continued if Rauch had stayed and kept Taggert on...(though they fought constantly I heard Taggert could actually win with him...) When MADD took over producing for a couple weeks was when we lost Joan Collins and then she brought Conboy on of all people (though she was considering Wheeler) and he insisted on Weston. Conboy totally screwed the budget over at that time. It would have been interesting to see Wheeler working with a stronger head writer like Taggert and with a semi normal budget. Alex wasnt actually the stalker all the time. Reva did have a real stalker who was caught but Alex continued it on to distract Reva (you know that hard hitting journalist) and Holly from investigating the Spauldings..which would have been a good reason if it wasn't for it being to cover up dumb Gus's even dumber paternity...(Taggert's version had Jonathon be the stalker, Gus a Santos and for Alan Michael to come back to help Alex fight Alan and Phillip.)

I loved Lilith..though it didn't jibe with the rest of Marland's ATWT which was so dully earnest all the time. She would have been a better fit on GL which has always...(at least since Marlands' turn) embraced camp better. I would love to see Lilith threaten Reva.."I would stuff you into one of my coffins dear but since your middle aged spread as taken over in earnest, I couldn't find one big enough!" I loved her catching people in bear traps and sending people home in coffins..and yes, the only time I loved Shannon was when she was that dumb shruken head..(and who could forget dumb Duncan not even checking to see if its real just running out of the tent to have..yes poison darts shot at him!) The Jessica actress had no sexual chemistry with anyone but I just dont think she would have chosen Duncan or he her.

They showed her on the bottle again but they didn't really tie it together..as she didn't seem drunk when she was stalking people. It was just so nice to see a woman in something other then a boring pastel dress that EVERY freaking woman in Rachville wore!I wish Holly would have kept the look and when people would raise eyebrows she would be "Hey I like it!"

I thought I was the only one who liked that storyline! Holly looked smoking hot in her leather stalker outfit..it was fun to see her be smart and slick (okay, if bad) and more fun to see people like Cassie, Van and Reva have to see they really aint perfect. I think that actually making a major character do this kind of thing was new, and actually Days ripped it off for the Salem Stalker and Marlena. I think they did a pretty good job of setting it up and having Holly guilty about her kid, drinking a lot, etc..just typical E & B and Rauch that they went for the most ridiculous ending (ALL the characters kids had to be kidnapped..Holly was crazy to want to spend time with those brats) and skipped over some of the good parts...(they should have had Holly passing out and not remembering doing this stuff) and sloppy on other things (the infamous front door opening OUT with Dinah's miscarrage..) And yes, Reva as the freaking hero..(should have been Ed on that bridge with her...) They also quickly skipped Holly being in therapy...and her Annie friendship...plus Holly was just back to normal after this and disappeared...(they should have had her come sane, but a tad bit bitchier and in control of her life...) It would have been fun to see her bring her pal Annie back to live with her..."( "Oh Reva you dont like it, go tell someone else, I am not impressed with Queen Katherine's opinion") and see her and Alan connect...(I dislked Raines but oddly enough he and Garret had some great chemistry..) That is when Roger's death should have been handled and Holly inheriting all his money and Spaulding stock.

Agreed... I couldn't stand Wheeler's vision but I do think she actually cared, and cared a lot. I don't think she was particularly gifted or creative, and I think that no one could have saved the show in the state it was in, even if Marland came back from the grave, teamed up with Pam Long and Nancy Curlee and Caso was the producer. The first few months of Wheeler were pretty "good" but you could tell MADD and the network were interfering and by the time MADD left the budget was even worse. Gautman, could have given three shits.

I think they brought Marcy on to be a Nola type character, but then Lisa, who at that time took EVERY bad/wayward/heading on the wrong track character under 30 under her wing, did just that..nothing like a former bad girl now sassy lady to fix people's wagons. Marcy then became a good girl ditzy dreamy romantic. But I remember the Bob Marcy story being serious...Marcy was looking for a father figure and (who else in Oakdale would you turn to) and confused those feelings with being romantic and turned on him, (with the help of John.) I think it might have been written sloppier then it should have..or as Marland would have written it. But what do I know, at the time my high school/college self had the hots for Jay!!!

I thought Mark was fine..yea, he was the typical non acting hunk but the guy carried it off and tried. I HATED him and Connor, but I HATED Connor and have no idea why anyone liked that witchey nosed woman! But then nothing was worse then Cal and Lyla...(SNORE) and the fight over Indian land or something??? Love Bloom's Orlena and think she could give a class on how to play a villain...Loved her casual dismissal of "The silly Lisa.." and when she killed boring whathisface Grimaldi and delightfully put pressure on his wounds..that was some SCARY [!@#$%^&*]! If only Carmen would have been like that..not only would she work against Chele, but align herself with Alan (was tired of RR with younger women) and fight with Alex..

Yes. HB was meant for Bert but Charita became sick. I remember H.B and Billy's first day was coming into the hospital in their over the top yelling way and getting [!@#$%^&*] from Bert who promptly owned them. Then they had HB looking for Bert for family advice but Charita was sick so Maureen was filling in for her at the hospital so you could tell the scenes were written with Bert in mind. Too bad, a Bert H.B. pairing would have rocked....."Woman..I need my bourbon and branch" .....Bert "Well then you will get yourself..I was married to one drunk I will not repeat it!" HB..."You got some fire in you lady, come on over HERE!"

Yea, Lily and Mark Kasnoff..wasnt she hiding in a box to escape Malta and the customs people were stabbing in with swords...I always wanted to do that to Lily! Seeing those clips and remember the storyline I see how much the GL writers stole from this storyline for Michele vs. Carmen. Too bad they also stole the over the top crazed Orleana replacment actresses version for Carmen. Carmen as Original Recipe Orleana..cool and deadly..mixing it up with the Bauers and the Spauldings would have been fun. Agreed on Marland and Long...but not the Dobs..they sucked...(at least on ATWT.) I thought the perfect writer would be the love child of Marland and Long! I wonder how things would have gone if Marland and Long teamed up..she needed his structure and his control and his respect for history, and he needed her passion, heart and humor. But I think they woulda just ended up killing each other.

I don't know if it was the fans that never let go or just TPTB who were afraid of the falling ratings and stuck to formula. Yes, people would scream for a while but if TPTB stuck to their guns they would deal. Lilly/Holden, Reva/Josh, Phillip/Beth, Carly/Jack, there was no interest in their constant break ups as you know they would return to the same old. If they had the same writer back in the day Lisa and Bob would have still been together, Dan would have been raised from the dead for Kim,etc. I actually liked Lily when she was with the blond muscle guy in Malta escaping crazy Orlena...though I was rooting for Orlena...

They had a brief flash to the cemetery where they showed unidentified people standing around with the cast and an older woman crossed herself, which I assumed was supposed to be Bea. Blake mentions that the entire family went to the Boardinghouse afterwards which didnt make sense but at least there was a mention.

They couldn't make Nola psychic, as her sister in law was during the cabin mystery. Nola and Quint should have gotten that storyline, or at least have been more closely involved..as in Tony and Annabelle are having weird things happening and Nola investigates and starts having psychic visions. Also, Nadine, ( was a rip off of Nola) was psychic during Ghost Reva storyline) she saw her own death from Brent...) Reva's Post Resurrection story lines didn't work as while she acted over the top, Reva was worked best in earthy, down to earth story lines. Even in the 80s with her big hair, big earings and shoulder pads she seemed more human and real as she was dealing with family and relationship issues (sure in big soap opera ways) drawn towards Josh, battling both Billy and H.B...sniping with Van, and then actually against her will, finding love with H.B, and then loosing her baby. All of the best story lines were those that dealt with her sexuality and her trying to find love and family and respect..not the crap that Rauch thought was fitting for her.

Yea, I was referring to Holmes's Tom, not Marx's Tom, who I don't think was porny at all..just sexy and wholesome... ( and would make the perfect dream husband and I would just know what to do with that nasty viper Babs...) I wasnt into Duncan at all..he belonged on Days not ATWT and Evan, well, lets just way it was way too obvious why non of his romances worked out! Funny thing is, I didn't think Holden was all that back in the day (of course I understood why others did) but thought he got sexier as he got older.!!! God..those are cheesy!!! No wonder everyone thinks the soap industry is low rent! I love Orange Boy in his 90's gay Daisy Dukes bending over for the camera!

Oh my imagination had so much "more" involved..if you know what I mean and I think you do...that's okay I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers but he really needs to stop the shaving thing... Marland's porny guys "Holden and any of the various farm guys in tight jeans/Evan/Duncan/ Boring and homely..Tom/Hal/Midget Paul/Andy (sorry, I know that is against the law to say that but...)

Yes, and she, like Buzzard was best as part of an ensemble...I don't think she was so bad when McTrash and Laibson were there but as soon as Rauchie was on the scene, he felt that it was OLTL and that Reva was the Vicki character, and Reva was not meant to be the center of the universe..( and I hate comparing Reva to Buzz but Buzz ate the show for several years....) I think Cassie, after Richard's death should have been a bitch on wheels. LW just makes a great snarling bitch that I cant believe they never went there.

I loved Bridget...I liked that she was a normal looking underdog with spunk and never the romantic heroine. I wonder what she and Rick would have been like together and she could have taken over Mo's place with a side of sass. I hated when they regressed her and made Dinah the dullest and most annoying romantic heroine (I loved Moniz as the skinny bitch he played so well) and had Bridge contemplating plastic surgery..I remember her scene with Roger and Zaz played it against what they wrote and somehow he made Rog be fatherly and kind to her in that scene. You could tell both actors worked together to fight the writing in that scene.

Ah, man..those pictures ruined it for me...he looks so skinny..why did he"shave" and uh, no one should wear that little blue number he has on..he looks so porny there....not that I am jealous of your happiness or anything. As for Burke Moses (who played Gaston on stage) I thought he was hot with looked like "man" baby! I dont think Marland knew how to handle someone like that..his guys were all homely boring or porny looking.

Why was Lucinda hugging on James after all he did to her??? Well, they did "kill" Alice in her kitchen by chocking her to death with a donut and then everyone stood around while poor Reid had to sit in a chair and act dead (and not start giggling with the bad dialogue...) all the while Doug's "corpse" was in a casket in the living room (or and the whole thing was played for laughs as Hattie got the last of her donuts and sold them on Ebay..) so I think that set was despoiled long ago and not even the combined forces of Rauch/MADD/Sheffer and Goutman would ever do that to Nancy Hughes or Bert Bauer. And for his next onscreen love interest Evans is a chubby chaser so he is all mine...(well at least Gaston is and he has always need a good.....to set him right.)
