  1. And, more she was: The Cheerleader in Save the Cheerleader, Save the World! Sarah Roberts on OLTL Diva #2 on Nashville.
  2. From Cady McClain's e-newsletter today, 5-12-22: FYI/FWIW I know I'm tickled.
  3. Thnx for adding that! As to her summing things up with "I look at it now as like 99 percent of my time there was perfection and the one percent, the end sucked." And, I bet they all felt that way.
  4. Hallelujah! Amen. Thnx. Forever more.
  5. The DOOL one of the best was Bill Bell conceived & Hwritten tale of Bill Horton, in love with Laura & not able to face her marrying Mickey the next day got drunk & went to the hospital where Laura was staying overnight in the doctor's on call room & raped Laura, crying & hating himself for it the whole time & Laura became pregnant of course because this is a soap. Tom, Laura & the audience knew that Mickey was sterile & 8 yrs later Mike found out his Uncle Bill was really his biological father.
  6. CORRECTED FILE: Moved to an Hour Timetable: AW Jan. 6, 1975* DOOL Apr 21, 1975* AMC Apr 25, 1977 Y&R Feb 4, 1980 *Both AW & DOOL had special standalone one-off episodes that were 60 min. a number of months before making the permanent change in the dates here above. Y&R began 1973. AW went to the disastrous EPIC FAIL 90 min. show Mar. 5, 1979 AW went back to an hour Aug. 1980 While AW was doing the 90 min. show, the HW left over the issue, so, byebye Harding "Pete" Lemay. I was told that the general wisdom was that CBS fans did not follow. New NBC fans, like me, began to watch. But, it would have needed a combined audience to succeed. Agnes Nixon, Bill Bell Sr. & Claire Labine & Paul Avila Meyer were all against the expansion. Pete Lemay had regrets about the expansion.
  7. I remember someone calculated how long he was comatose but still a part of driving story & he had some sort of record. LOL I was always for Jake & Paulina. They should've ended up together. Interesting tidbit: Donna Swajeski refused to write that Jake raped Marley. I never believed he would have done so. She didn't either. But, somehow they made her do it. Write it, I mean. I think that's why she quit. It had one other great to it & that was a great magazine cover on SOD, all the dames around him in hot red & him in white. Back when covers were good because there was one show on it & it was done artistically instead of like cut and paste. Excellent choice!
  8. Guest Actor or Best Support? That's fantastic. She was great as Jennifer Horton Deveraux. I wish they'd give it to her permanent. I missed that news. Thnx. But, I don't think she broke the curse. That's like, okay, bring someone in who is known for other shows & then give them an award.
  9. If anyone from DOOL wins an Emmy again after all this time, it will prove that the systemic bias against the show has changed into something else.
  10. It's just the part about soaps that I dislike. They create strong women but then they whittle away at them & Don, well, I just keep thin king he's going to go to mail a letter & vanish.
  11. Any time they try to make her stupid, I just don't buy it. She's not. Have to grin & bear it.
  12. Stefano has fans who think of him as a matinee idol!
  13. It's a relatively new thread, there's time yet. This is one of my Lingering Questions that is unanswered so far. AMC: OLTL: At AMC/OLTL crossover, who wrote the helicopter crash & baby swap? This was the storyline that I hated that I was just galvanized watching. I hated it because it was another "exploit the lesbian story." I just hate all the times they make a victim out of a Lesbian character. And, I hated it because it made me watch OLTL & I didn't really have time to. So, my response was just typical. Of course it was wonderfully, thoughtfully implemented & executed. And, I tolerated that whole Babe & Krystal rigamarole, well. Probably because I like the actresses so much. I didn't realize the ratings got an uptick from it. That's fantastic! The Loving murders. I can't do it because I was just watching to get ready for The City. I was just in the rolling surf, letting the story wash over me. But, it was well played!
  14. Sure thing. I felt like we were watching a man come apart at the seams.
  15. I love that he got her hired. He was the one they had her read with & he told them she was sarcastic & he liked it & they should hire that girl. And they did. And he takes his place in Dee Hall History.
  16. I'm still angry that they didn't come up with a better name than Libidizone. It was not only obnoxious as these other things are, it was also stupid!
  17. Add in DawnOfTheDead said as if it were all one word! That, too. Where's the emoji for sick to death of it!? 🥱Okay, bored to tears, that will do. I was a poster on Usenet at the time, so in RATSc and even though I was posting about ATWT & GL, you still see all the subject lines from Y&R and B&B. And, I wondered what in the heck a reliquary was! Thinking about the GAG Red Swan & this elephant statue & the reliquary I bet odds are that using an actual wooh-wooh statue or object increases the odds fans are gonna end up making fun of it instead of caring about it. I absolutely LOVE that you kept that tally, serves 'em right.
  18. Okay, thank you. Of course, that's what they didn't like. What a crazy premise to get him back into town. Sure. 🤔
  19. Jason was one creepy dude. I had trouble reconciling his AW role & his GH role. Lemay/Swajeski would've been topnotch.
  20. I can just imagine James Harmon Brown & Barbara Esensten (RIP) are celebrating having a fan! I don't mean to offend but I just full.stop.thud. and I think about what Maureen has had to say about it & shake a raised fist at the sky.
  21. @victoria foxtonsaid it was almost a cameo or a parody of a soap (or something close to that) Or a porno! Really, really screams porno character to me!
  22. Did you see the Locher Room where they talked about this? She said how much they wanted to bring Roger back but that they didn't like the way they had to do it. I wondered what that was about. They also said they were suspicious at first of being put together as a threesome. I think she said that "Jimmy" thought so too. So, they became a united front so their chains wouldn't be jerkable. And then she said the most predictable thing about JER, that you couldn't believe the man's imagination. Of course they probably knew that long before the rest of us. Hot d*mn, that was some very special soapy stuff. If you don't see any other Beverlee on GL at all, which would be a shame, see that day at the Country Club.
  23. There's a pretty good wiki for AMC. And, even the Wikipedia page itself for AMC covers, for example, what HW wrote what. And, SOC, Soap Opera Central has a great section on character histories & a great section on historical weekly recaps.
