  1. Maybe Shemar's arc on Y&R could lead him to being part of the BtG crossover. I would have a scene of Malcolm Winters catching up with his protege Andre Richardson.
  2. 1993 from the aftermath of Maureen death was a chore to get through. Way too much Buzz. Highlights of 1993 for me were Roger visiting Maureen's grave (January 22) and Roger crashing Ed's party at the country club (July 16).
  3. Hahaha, Febreze is back. Still waiting for the return of Tide.
  4. When B&B began a good amount of the criticism towards it was that Bill Bell was dusting off 1970s and 1980s Y&R storylines. Acting-wise Bill Bell cast actors he worked with before (Susan Flannery on Days; John McCook, Lauren Koslow, James Storm on Y&R) as well as newcomers so it was a good balance. B&B first summer had pre-emptions due to Iran-Contra.
  5. It's like a reverse Full House. John Stamos had Uncle Jesse last name changed from Cochran to Katsopolis to reflect his Greek heritage but I wasn't convinced that the three blonde-haired blue-eyed Tanner daughters had a Greek-American mother.
  6. B&B 1987 and 1988 were the growing years. Remember too that nearly half of 1988 was writer's strike material. 1989 Sally Spectra arrival and B&B hit its stride.
  7. Were the Cooper family originally created to be of Greek heritage or was that done because of Frank Dicopolous casting? I think the back story used was that Pops came to the United States as a young man and Americanized the family name from Kouperakis to Cooper.
  8. This never gets old. The Young And The Restless | Victor VS Jack "I'll Crush You!" (1999)
  9. Do not give Josh Griffith ideas. For sure. I thought the SWAT spin off would premiere after the Super Bowl but I can't find anything online for a premiere date.
  10. That's the right date. Thank you.
  11. Loved Dani getting all up in Silk Press Sheila's grill. Andre 🤤🥰 Vanessa and Joey, I did not need to see that freakiness. Vanessa is a nasty ho and Joey is just nasty period. Also knowing that Jon Lindstrom is 30 years older than Lauren Buglioli and the age difference is apparent just adds a whole other level of ick.
  12. You're welcome. I've pointed out in the Dallas thread that Larry Hagman wasn't so big and bad anymore when he lost the time slot twice to Urkel.
  13. March 8, 1991, Dallas series low and the first time slot loss to Family Matters. April 26, 1991, Dallas penultimate episode and the second time slot loss to Family Matters. Promo for Family Matters @ 11:34 April 26th 1991 TGIF on ABC Commercial Block
  14. OMG yes, the Acapulco episodes and the Country Club episode were epic. I rushed home from school for the Acapulco episodes. Michael Zaslow should've gotten a Lead Actor nomination in 1991 for the Acapulco episodes. I believe the Acapulco episodes got Maureen Garrett a Supporting Actress nomination in 1991 but I haven't found anything online to verify. One Roger/Holly scene I'm trying to find the date of is when Roger shows up at Holly's house, admits that he still loves her, then kisses her, and its all witnessed by Gilly. I think it was sometime in late 1991 or early 1992.
  15. July 1990-February 1991 GL saw some big cast departures (Kim Zimmer, Michael O'Leary, Kassie DePaiva, Robert Newman, Grant Aleksander, Beth Chamberlin) plus the HW change from Pamela Long to Nancy Curlee. Many thought GL was in for a rough patch but I thought the show improved. Sadly the ratings didn't reflect that.
  16. Constance McCashin was smart enough to realize that good roles for females past a certain age were few and far between (remember she was 40 in 1987 when Laura departed) thus changing her career path to one outside the entertainment industry.
  17. Constance McCashin is 78 going on 79. Kim Langford is 71 going on 72. Neither of them have acted in years. If they've had anything done, it's not blatantly obvious and in your face, especially when compared to their castmates even though said castmates are a little older. If anything, being away from the entertainment industry takes off a lot of pressure in maintaining a certain look, at least in theory anyway.
  18. Timing and luck as well. It's funny that two of the Brooks/Foster children recasts went on to primetime success. David Hasselhoff on Knight Rider and later Baywatch. Deborah Adair on Aaron Spelling shows before returning to daytime on Days.
  19. @DRW50 Thanks for the info.
  20. In the past for sexiest men on soaps, Y&R in the second half of the 1990s. Shemar Moore at his peak hotness. Eric Braeden glowed up. Christian LeBlanc grew into his looks. Currently it's all about BtG. Sean Freeman the hotness of BtG and he's gotten hotter. Jibre Hordges is about to have a glow up. Brandon Claybon hasn't glowed up yet but he could. Clifton Davis I wouldn't consider him cute/hot/sexy but he has aged well.
  21. Of the original actors that were the Brooks/Foster children, did you think any of them had primetime potential? James Houghton was part of the original cast of Knots Landing and had a short arc on The Colbys. Brenda Dickson in between her two runs was a guest star on Falcon Crest. Jaime Lyn Bauer got a short-lived primetime soap Bare Essence and made the guest star rounds (Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, Hotel, Knots Landing) before returning to daytime on Days. William Gray Epsy remained on daytime (Another World) with some guest starring roles in between his daytime stints. Janice Lynde also remained on daytime (Another World, One Life to Life) with some guest starring roles before and after her daytime stints. Trish Stewart and Pamela Peters had some guest starring roles and that was it.
  22. The Day After still remains the highest-rated movie made for broadcast network television. I loved those miniseries based on best-selling novels. Too bad they are all relegated to Lifetime now.
  23. A little over a month after The Winds of War, ABC would broadcast The Thorn Birds and that scored even higher.
  24. @soapfan770 @YRfan23 I might be wrong, but I think Mamie's backstory was that she was widowed and childless when she came to work for the Abbott family. There's a 1988 episode where Mamie said it had been 25 years since she started working for the Abbott family.
