  1. As everyone probably has heard on the news by now, the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris is burning down. I still remember the Paris remote with Kelly (or was it Eden?) mentioning it and seeing its glorious exterior. So sad to think it is now gone.
  2. And here is some scary-assed s-h-i-t straight out of Texas, which is pushing to pass the Abolition of Abortion Act - which would invoke the death penalty (!!!) for anyone who has an abortion. It is being argued this will make women "more personally responsible" for sex. And this would involve such a penalty for nurses and doctors who take part in the procedure. Oh, and it has NO EXCEPTIONS for rape, incest, or if the mother's life is in danger. Gilead is here. Sponsored by the woman-hating GOP.
  3. Yeah, never look at the Capwell timeline too closely. Look at Kelly/Joe: Kelly is younger than Channing/Brick, Mason, and Eden, and was engaged to Joe in 1979. Yet the two most popular actresses to play Kelly were born in '66 and '64, and I assume the character was not meant to be much older. So she was engaged in 1979 at 14/15? Okay. Add in that Eden's Sirenas stuff was also given as 1979, when she first met Robert and - I think - Kelly and Ted were referenced as being fairly young, and...yeah. Like I said, just let it all roll off your back.
  4. Bernie is the Trump of the left, down to not showing his taxes with grandiose statements and ideas with no idea how to implement anything. We have enough of that s-h-i-t. And as for the "most electable Democrat"? Biden still beats him polling-wise.
  5. Do you mean Stacey Edwards? Not sure if she left voluntarily or was fired.
  6. I pray to God Bernie does NOT get the nomination. Because - despite the ANYONE but Trump attitude for 2020 - I cannot support Trump Lite of the left. And he is. Down to not releasing HIS taxes. Go the f-u-c-k home, Bernie.
  7. Lunatic Alex Jones laughed out of a chicken restaurant in Texas: See Alex go batschitt crazy.
  8. After Mary's death in 1986 was a good example.
  9. And Davies and McKee looked like brothers (even if technically half-siblings). I remember they traveled the world together when both left the show. I remember liking Ted giving Mason a noogie - as any brother would - around the time Mason was having a classic panic attack/rant prior to marrying Julia. I liked Gordon Thomson's Mason, but I could never picture such a scene between him and Michael Brainard. And UO time: I preferred Carrington Garland's Kelly to Robin Wright's. (Wright was good; I just preferred Carrington's take.) 'Tis true.
  10. Not to mention stark stupidity.
  11. And while everyone is fixated on the Mueller Report, William Barr's DOJ has filed to not argue for the ACA at all. Meaning, Trump and these garbage people are backing a Texas judge's ruling this past December that the ENTIRE ACA is illegal and should be nullified. What a way for Donnie Dump to celebrate his Mueller victory - by killing millions of people.
  12. Meanwhile, our fellow Americans in Puerto Rico continue their suffering post-Maria thanks to Trump and the GOP. I hate them. I really do. Hope 2020 will vote a good number of GOP slimeballs, and Trump himself, OUT.
  13. And then there's the whole dressing like HITLER in pictures as she baked cookies. I'm supposed to feel sorry for someone like this?! Not happening.
  14. Probably cost. I looked into the vaccine since I had chicken pox TERRIBLY as a kid, i.e. I even had one in my eye, and the cost for the vaccine was about $300+, and not all insurance covers it. It SHOULD be, but it is what it is.
  15. Mine, too! And I was like 7 or 8 when they had their big wedding and I was home from school and in my glory because I thought it was the most romantic wedding ever. LOL! Of course, there was the whole "Cliff keeping a secret from Nina about pregnant Sybil Thorne", but hey. Back to the backbiting demagoguery that is politics!
  16. Another day, another threat from the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES against the American people. Inciting violence? No biggie, thinks the GOP, as it once more looks the other way. The 25th Amendment should have been invoked on Day One.
  17. Drake Hogestyn had the good fortune to strike gold with almost any woman his Roman/John were paired with. Considering the insane popularity of John/Marlena (which I can admit objectively even as this pairing has never done anything for me!), I think it said a lot when, upon the return of Wayne's Roman and Marlena, I recall SOD saying it was inundated with letters about the quad but many surprisingly were just as vocal/worried about John leaving Isabella. (And they had that issue's cover - when SOD still did actual photo shoots.) And he also had success with Genie Francis' Diana (making this current story and Diana's ruin ridiculous) and Eileen Davidson's Kristen, all very different women, but - while not a great actor - able to generate chemistry and fanbases galore. So I get why the writers took to Roman/RoJohn/John in the end, even if, yeah, Wayne Northrop got the shaft. Still, WN left again and was then some dumb retcon character upon a second return. Had it be known he would not have stayed, I would have made WN a fake Roman to mess with DH's version. As John as a person, no writer has ever gotten a handle on the character, and it's a testament that Hogestyn has been able to work with such a schittily-defined character.
  18. Buttigieg's facial expressions were golden. And I liked his vibe. However, honestly, I don't think he has a shot. Because, sadly, there are still PUH-LENTY of homophobic pieces of dirt out there, and they do vote. And we need someone who can even make some of these people not vote for Trump again. I personally think it blows, because this guy is good. But with the slugs that have come into the light since Trump was elected, the anti-Semites, the white supremacists, the homophobes and such, I have doubts that Buttigieg could breach that. And the Bible belt? Forget it. Who could? The trouble is, I don't know.
  19. So sad to hear of Jed Allan's passing. In his honor, here is a great scene from SB with C.C. and his son, Mason (who was actually his alter, Sonny Sprocket) trapped in the Capwell wine cellar:
  20. Just saw that Brandon Barash begins as Stefan on Days on March 22nd.
  21. Amy Berman Jackson, the judge dealing with loon Roger Stone, will be sentencing Manafort next Wednesday. I read the maximum there is just 10 years. Be that as it may, I hope she makes up for s-h-i-thead T.S. Ellis' bias and gives him the full ten, anyway.
  22. Wow. Well, good for her! Thanks.
  23. I know. As I said in the other post? UGLY. I know it was the avant-garde '80s, but come on, now!
  24. I, too, loved that picture of Carrington Garland/Kelly's '30s (?)-style gown for her wedding to Quinn. The wedding was a hot mess, but her gown and hair were perfect. The gloves were a nice touch. Eden's gown was considered a sort of princess ultra fantasy in the '80s, but with all the wire hoops, etc, it really did not stand the test of time. Speaking of Kelly, while she was married twice before the picture above and with a different actress, the first for Joe was UGLY. And the second for her wedding to Jeffrey (which still seemed sort of eeewww to me since they shared a brother in Mason [I know, no blood between Kelly/Jeffrey!]), was way too frou-frou (but I think that was the show trying to use Robin Wright's new Princess Bride fame at the time). I loved both pictures of Nina and Cliff above. The first wedding made sense for Nina the sheltered princess, but the Tavern on the Green black/white wedding at Christmastime was simply GORGEOUS. Oddly, one dress I liked was for a soap I did not even watch, but since I read SOD, I became familiar with it: Brooke Logan's gown when she married that moron, Ridge, on the beach.
