  1. I was born in 1972, but I did read about Art Linkletter's daughter, Diane, who had jumped from her kitchen window in October 1969. So, I'm frankly shocked that Art Linkletter didn't take some time off after that and was instead promoting a new show. But maybe working helped him.
  2. Regarding the writing and pairings, etc., I recall reading...somewhere...as one example, that Paula Cwikly was all in on Brady/Sarah and Xander/Gwen. All well and good. But the trouble is, the audience doesn't seem to be. Other boards (sorry, SON! LOL! But I still love you!) used to have pages of discussion. Now, if there are five posts, it's note worthy. Add in that some have said that Days isn't always in the Top 10 at Peacock these days, and something has to give. I hope Noel Maxam can light a proverbial fire under things. Right now, everything and everyone seems so aimless. There are no stakes, no reason to tune in. This is not to say I want Ron Carlivati back, but there must be a happy medium between the joke of an atmosphere under Ron and the boring slog the show has become with the current writing team. Which brings me to another issue (spoiler)... I'll even be controversial and say this EJ has been treading water. Dan F. (I won't even try spelling his last name) seems like a cool guy, but EJ doesn't seem necessary as of now. I'd cut him, hell, most of the DiMeras, IMO. To me, they should have never become a main family. Spoiler box within again for character mention... Another example? Peter. Never a big fan of the character, 1.0 or 2.0, but he did have the history and potential. Instead, after decades away, he returns in a blink and miss moment and is then presumably killed. What was the damn point there?! Do I have all the answers? No, obviously. But then, I'm not being paid to. These people behind the scenes, on the other hand, are. And they need to figure things out. Fast.
  3. Or revive the old MTV Celebrity Deathmatch Claymation skits, and do an edition with a clay Dee and Suzanne.
  4. Yeah, for Susan Seaforth Hayes' sake, and the audience's, TPTB need to stop putting Maggie and Marlena in the same room if all Queen Dee Hall is going to do is be an unprofessional diva. At least Suzanne Rogers tries to do her job, even if she also has issues with Deidre. But TPTB either have to have a come to Jesus chat with Hall if these scenes are to continue, and remind her that she is supposed to act, or just stop these. As they are, it's just uncomfortable to watch.
  5. I thought I read that Jada and Shawn would be reconnecting? This Theo does zip for me. Steve/Kayla are nice, but they deserve an actual story. And Brady/Sarah should be bottled as a sleep aid. But the Chad/Billy stuff is sweet. Now get off my lawn.
  6. A hell of a way for Today to have its ratings rise, but I guess it was inevitable.
  7. Awww, thanks! He was also on the series finale of Law & Order: Criminal Intent in the episode, "To The Boy in The Blue Knit Cap", as an ex-pornographer, Rex Tamlyn. He seemed to have a blast playing someone so sleazy! And, in that same episode, he acted opposite Thad Luckinbill as twins (and victims!) Thomas and Parker Gaffney! (Thinking Thad's brother may have played the other twin's body, although he wasn't credited!) And, to round up the soap connections here, Richard Bekins played Thomas and Parker's father. How's that for daytime connections? 😉
  8. Oddly, I know James Van Der Beek best from his guest role on the series finale of Law & Order: Criminal Intent when he played an ex-pornographer, of all things, and he seemed to have a blast playing someone so sleazy. Forty-eight is too damned young to go. May James Van Der Beek rest in peace.
  9. Another election, another Democratic win! This time, in Louisiana, which was a +13 Trump district:
  10. Deidre's character, Claudia, was married to Tim Curry's character, Winston Newquay! I know I posted something from this a few years ago, but I forgot exactly what, and there's more than one here. this time. Besides the above and the star Ken Wahl, it also features Debbie Harry and Glenn Frey, among others!
  11. "The House of DiMera" is a SNOOZE. And way to already ruin Liam before he really gets going.
  12. Yep, he was a creeper, all right! 😛
  13. I can't wait until these murdering goons realize they were lied to and that they discover they have ZERO immunity. If/When Dems regain power, the first order of business should be prosecuting Jonathan Ross for killing Renée Good and also obtaining the identities of the two goons that murdered Alex Pretti and prosecute their asses, too. If I recall, a list of these freaks was supposedly leaked, so use that to identify all of them. And if ICE must remain in some fashion, ensure that the masks come off and stay off. Then I bet a lot of these cosplay warriors wouldn't stick around since, at heart, they're cowards, just like their orange leader.
  14. Never knew Susan Misner was on a soap. I know she had numerous roles on the Law & Order franchise, and she was pretty good! One of those roles on Criminal Intent was opposite a then-unknown David Harbour as her wackadoodle religious-nut hubby. LOL. I do also remember Darlene Vogel (Melanie, OLTL) from that USA cop show on bikes, Pacific Blue. Why I remember the name, I don't know! And Barbara Niven had at least three separate guest roles on Silk Stalkings back in the day. Cheesy, but fun!
  15. That would be Cold Case. SJB joined the show as a detective (and, if I recall, was resented by that show's audience for taking screen time away from Kathryn Morris' Det. Lily Rush!). Then Sarah got into a public squabble with Les Moonves, and her character was gone quickly. (Knowing what we know now, Sarah calling out Moonves was a brave move.)
  16. Oh, wow. Her episode (two episodes in syndication, but in first run, it was a single two-hour November sweeps episode in 2005) aired just the night before last. She was so good in that small role, as a mother desperate to find her missing daughter, and taking a Nancy Grace-type to task for ignoring her daughter in the media but going all in once a white girl also went missing. ("If she's white, put her in the spotlight. If she's black, put her in the back!") May she rest in peace.
  17. The only odd thing about Munker (Muenker?) is she didn't use that name when as Kim on Days. As I recall, at the time Munker filled in for Patsy Pease, she was then going by Arianna Chase. Why the surname change? Who knows. But I recall that actor Charles Grant (Evan Bates, AW; Connor McCabe, Santa Barbara) was known as Charles Flohe early on, so it must be an actor thing...
  18. I know that Deidre Hall and Marlena is the show's Queen Bee, but has she forgotten what acting entails? Like pretending to like certain characters even if she doesn't really like the actors? She tanked a scene with Kristian Alfonso during John's memorial, now this stuff with Maggie. If she cannot act like a professional, maybe it's time Marlena take Julie's Queen of the Never-Ending Cruise crown and ship out? (Pun maybe intended.) As for the whole Jack/Jen stuff with Chad, I still can't believe this is an actual story. Sigh.
  19. I would post the video here, but the language is off the charts by the good citizens of Minnesota. But look up writer Jeff Tiedrich's YouTube account, which is simply Tiedrich, and see how the good people of Lyn Lake, Minnesota came together to drive ICE out.
  20. While I wasn't invested in any of these characters or couples, it's still a jolt. As some have said, this basically wipes out the younger generation altogether. Not a good move. And if TPTB think more Leo or more DiMera nothingness will drive this show, I have news for them: The only place it will be driven is off a proverbial cliff. I think the show is halfway there now since it doesn't usually crack the Top 10 on Peacock these days. The show needs young characters. The show also needs couples to root for! And Brady/Sarah, Leo/Javi as two examples are not it. Do I know the answer? No. But I'm not being paid to have any. Here's looking at the 6,960,124th article on "The Plan To Save Days!", coming soon to the SOD site!
  21. Nothing worth watching, I see. And how long will this ridiculous Sophia/Rachel mess go on? Should have just let Sophia get over Tate. He's not worth it. And Alice Halsey is a good little actress, but I am tired of psycho Rachel. Glad Alice Halsey went on to greener pastures. Anything with Leo and Gwen is a hard pass. Ditto Brady/Sarah, but only because they are the soap equivalent of Nytol. Xander is indeed a mess, but he and Sarah had the chemistry to make watching said mess interesting. (I know B/S (hey, BS! It fits...) weren't featured together, but Brady looked upset, which likely means more of them. Wake me when they implode, please.) On the bright side, no DiMera idiocy. But I'm sure the reprieve is all too temporary. I'm glad Ron is gone, and not everything is a joke now, but now the show just seems dull. Dull pairings, stories that don't move. The pacing needs to be addressed!
  22. Just a heads up that Sarah and Jeremy are both Hortons (albeit not by blood, but raised as family!). Then again, Brady has made it a sport to go after women that were dating and/or married to his uncles Phillip and now Xander (Chloe/Sarah), so Days gets off on that family squick factor! Max Brady having a kid with his NIECE Chelsea being another prime example. Sure, Phillip/Xander didn't know Isabella and vice versa, and Max was not raised with Chelsea and not related by blood, but it's STILL FAMILY. Which is also why Alex/Stephanie still makes me want to vomit, especially since Adrienne RAISED Alex as her own. Eeww.
