  1. Great news. Despite its flaws, B&B is a fun distraction you can watch a few times a week. Love that it kept its half-hour format all these years. Who knows if it would still be on if it went to 1 hour like it was rumoured have to in the mid-90s.
  2. If they go this route during Poppy would make to most sense. Of all the women on the canvas, she's the least like Steffy - as flighty and free-spirited as Steffy is calculated and controlling. The fallout would be explosive.
  3. Credit where it's due, CBS executed a near perfect launch for this show. Massive promotion, a great timeslot & high clearance rates. For comparison (thanks again @JAS0N47 ) B&B had only a 93-94% clearance rate for its first 5 years. Generations, by comparison, had a 98% rate until its last few weeks on the air.
  4. That would be awesome. I'd love a scene with Brooke playing concerned mother/ex-concubine to Hope & Ridge then laughing her ass off when they leave.
  5. If Deacon actually does dump Sheila...has he slept with Katie yet?
  6. I think that's a good idea on paper - but would be absolute torture to watch onscreen. I can actually picture Donna saying that to Hope!
  7. I disagree that BTG should have been placed behind Y&R. The gap between B&B & Y&R isn't huge, and the net benefit for the network wouldn't be worth the risk of moving a show that's been in the same timeslot for 38 years. Thanks for the update. It seemed like a given BTG would look better in week 4 because at least 2/3 weeks their Friday numbers were a lot lower. Do you know how week 4 compared to M-W week 3?
  8. More of a mixed bag for BTG this week, but still looking good. Negatives: It had the biggest drop, and is only 0.04 away from The Talk's year ago in W18-49. Positives: Much healthier 38% gain on The Talk's year ago in W25-54 (CBS' sales demo). The week to week drop might look worse than it is because of how impressive its week 2 hold was. From weeks 1-3 it held 80% of its W18-49 numbers, beating the holds of Sunset Beach (70%) & Passions (73%) - but below Port Charles at 85%. It's week 3 lead-in retention (80% of B&B) towers over Passions (27% of Days).
  9. LMAO. No EP would want to have a conversation with network executives, nor an actor's agent about bringing back someone they fired after 13 weeks and recast. The GOP dumping Mike Johnson and voting for Ilhan Omar to be speaker of the house is more likely to happen.
  10. Sheila and Luna were fun. That kiss would have seemed a lot less creepy if I didn't watch White Lotus on Sunday though. Anika probably needs to see a chiropractor after doing all the heavy lifting in her scenes today.
  11. Thanks for posting that @EricMontreal22! What a fun read. As an very occasional AMC watcher, it was surprising that she only really alluded to the Kendall story and I don't think she mentioned SMG at all. Isn't that universally regarded as her best AMC story? I guess she really wanted that Kelly Ripa blurb.
  12. Two sides of the same coin. @TEdgeofNightBTG is doing fine 2 weeks in. In W18-49/W25-54 it had holds of 96%/100%. It had better retention of its lead-in in week 2 as well. Not sure how much more you can expect for a new soap launch in 2 weeks. @dragonflies Your avatar is literally of a B&B scene that aired this week.
  13. Thanks for coming on my podcast Luna. What have you been up to since I pardoned you?
  14. Good reporting from Errol. Did Y&R make an effort to recruit any of the top Days talent like Billy when the show moved to Peacock? Did Sony kibosh that? Seems like a missed opportunity since it was the only soap in the slot after the move.
  15. A Sheila sighting outside of the restaurant - has she been there longer than Luna's been at Bill's house? There's no gas left at all in the Hope/Carter pairing or the takeover story, time to end them both. I'd love for Steffy and Hope to have a detente where they plot for Hope to convince Carter to sign FC back in exchange for Steffy selling her HFTF.
  16. It was a tongue-in-cheek comment that she made the first scene I've seen with Daphne Rose watchable.
  17. I would not be surprised if the casting sheet character description read "Megan Markle porn parody meets Pepe Le Pew"
  18. Emmy race is over. Anika managed to produce legit good scenes opposite the Daphne Rose character. Jackie brought it today too. Great job by whoever directed today's episode.
  19. Liam's been on the backburner for a year now. She broke up Liam for Thomas, who then dumped her a few weeks later for not wanting to get married. Hope and Carter have been together for a few months. They hooked up during a period when Steffy was threatening to cancel Hope's line for months on end like she was Trump with tariffs, and he felt undervalued at work.
  20. No, it's not mitigating all the churn but a portion of it. Let's keep GH as an example, a show I've probably seen less than an hour of in 10 years. If posters here are correct and it's a top 20 show on Hulu for (the sake of argument) say 40 weeks a year, it's much more valuable than middling farelike Class of '09, Unprisoned or Dollface, which are much more expensive, and as you point out, they have to spend money on promoting. Obviously big-ticket shows like Shogun, The Bear and Paradise drive most subs but they need to pad the catalogue with something. And soaps are cheap. And even cheaper than they were 20 years ago, which is unheard of in the industry for scripted.
  21. Krista Allen returning as Taylor is more likely to happen.
  22. I agree with most of your post but here is my quibble. The same people watching every day is nothing to scoff at. Combating churn is a major priority for streamers. The fact that a full year of GH costs less than 2 episodes of Shogun is absolutely helping it stay in production.
  23. I think 2 weeks ago they would be very happy with an 80% hold of W18-49 from B&B. For comparison, Passions held only 35% of its Days lead in (1.1 vs 3.1 -thanks Jason47) during it debut week. W25-54 was even better at 83% I'm a bit surprised though that the actual show only did 32/30% better in the demos than infomercials for the show last week.
