Same here for sure. Carly and Jack were so fantastic definitely one of the last classic supercouples on daytime. I remember back in the day when ATWT was still on I always enjoyed and still appreciate your commentary, especially when it came to “Juicy Janet”. 😊

I always hate preemptions around the holidays as weird stuff occurs. Remember when B&B had Christmas like a week and a half late back in 2019 lol? Regardless obviously Days won’t be affected, and obviously Y&R may not either especially since it will have already aired in the central time zone.

No worries thanks for correcting me. I think I remember that now but I was so in and out with the show at the time I didn’t care for the show trying bring in stars only to waste them on villain of the month stories either.

12/15: Ho boy lol it was nice to Phyllis get knocked off her high horse and kicked around with the bad karma she’s built up. Summer firing her and tearing her a new one was fun, as was Adam, Michael, Lauren, and Sally all smirking at Phyllis’s downfall, with the episode ending on how delusional Phyllis has become.

Yeah. Last there was a significant lull was between 1998-2002 when Ridge and Taylor were more or less happily married (minus Taylor’s TB story and of course dealing with Morgan) while Brooke was entangled with Thorne, Whip, Deacon and interfered in her kids’ lives with not able to stand Amber.

So true. Too bad this didn’t happen in 2010 with Moss and Tylo still in the roles instead of having the Brooke and Taylor mud wrestle for therapy purposes.

Definitely the most tortured couple for sure. Jack dies and comes back alive with amnesia, Carly messes up Jack’s career, Carly sleeps with Simon, Jack sleeps with Katie, Carly had mysterious illness, Carly sleeps with creepy ventriloquist guy, both sleep with their best friends, the insanity that was Juicy Janet and then of course alcoholic Carly was stuck in her own hell with a twisted triangle between her, Craig and Rosanna. Thank god they actually ended with a happy ending. Yeesh.

Years overdue in the making. I’d say let Taylor get involved with Deacon while Brooke meets up with Finn’s dad Jack. Would definitely be fresh new men for them both.

Thank you! I couldn’t remember how Victor played into it. Like I said the show was a big mess at the time and I’m pretty sure I remember MAB/Sheffer/Hamner significantly downplaying it to make it sound like Billy was in the wrong.

Hadn’t watched today but was Billy raped by Chelsea? I don’t recall. The show was such a mess at the time I remember Billy in the cage in Myanmar with Victor gawking and then pregnant Chelsea coming to town with Anita, but I don’t remember how Chelsea got pregnant other it was written as a sleazy one night to which Chelsea was responsible for sending him to jail, but of course given that all was written Hogan Sheffer. Tragic that his ghost still haunts this show today with all his bad decisions (Billy, Adam, Diane, Chelsea, Sharon)

Maybe back during the 12000th episode when Nina and Victoria briefly discussed their history with Cole and Ryan. Finally Stafford did not giggle when Phyllis had a confrontation with Stark. About time

It’s good to see Traci in this ad. I find it odd Audra was ever interested in mopey Noah. I did read rumor they have sex but this promo just mentions a kiss. Poor Allie.

Pretty fair list especially for Y&R, B&B, and Days. I’m glad they called out Summer as being underused as it’s very apparent Alison Lanier has talent that is getting used much except to steamroll over a giggling Stafford. And yes lol the Spencers are pointless. I forgot Carter and Paris even had a wedding now 😅

Phyllis giggling aside, whoever wrote this past week’s worth of episodes has pretty much been on point. Daniel & Lily is pure nostalgia, Jack calling out Phyllis’s own history with Christine and Sharon and calling out her “smirk” was perfection, the Lauren/Sally scenes were surprisingly refreshing, and someone FINALLY remembered Allison Lanier has has the talent to steamroll over Stafford while also still being able to play daddy’s little girl when needed after months of ignoring that talent. A victim of too much rewriting. The Rey/Chelsea plot was very obviously dropped in abrupt fashion when some executives ordered Rey’s death. The Shick reunion didn’t pan at all. Unfortunately Sharon has relegated to the role of Aunt Liz on AW or something akin to Lisa on ATWT or Holly on GL during their final decade.

I would have thought that missing toe surely would have decomposed by now, ewwww.

And again in today’s episode as well. Kyle is making threats towards Phyllis and all MS Phyllis can do is giggle and make goofy faces.

That picture of Phyllis and the way Phyllis was acting goofy in that scene telling Ashley and Nikki she contacted Stark reminds me exactly how people use to call her “Giggly Heffa”.

Only thing that does surprise about the show is that it was still hovering around the top 10 1993-95 at a time when the show had become excessively cheesy/corny/really bad and over the top. I guess all those folks still watching let bad habits die hard until CBS changed it for them.

Well stated @janea4old!!! I literally laughed out loud when I read Victor digs into Sally’s past. I mean Victor couldn’t just ask Summer for insight on Sally? That Victor threatens Sally with dirt already well known? Why kind of ridiculous spoiler is this anyways? Sounds like FF material. Same with Victor “confronting” Chance…seriously? Same with “dire (fatal)” warning for Nick just laughable.

B&B: Other than the wedding cliffhanger and Carter overhearing Bill, this month was mostly a snoozefest because it was stuck on repeat. No Sheila story. This one gets an F here, with Douglas being the only thing to save this from being graded at a Z- LOL. Y&R: I actually am going to give this one a C because at least drama happened this month even though it was whiplash and in a flash. The Devon/Abby affair was juicy and years in the making but the fallout with Amanda was rushed but I’m glad MM came back for a decent farewell send off. Chelsea’s story was also actually presented reasonably. Props to the cast as I believe most of the cast members actually rose above the overall mediocre material.

I know that Y&R and Days l were already mentioned, but two from ATWT came to mind: 1) Holden Snyder jumping out of the stable loft in front of Dusty and Lily. 2) Rosanna discovering one of her lost cousins was actually her half-sister and her decision to search for her. Of course Carly would then find pretty much be a leading lady for rest of the show’s final 15 years.

Given that Taylor gave Douglas his phone back I suppose I’m expecting Douglas to play the call in the middle of the wedding. It be a nice touch for Douglas to continue his trend of honesty between “Beth is Phoebe!” and “I saw Grandma kissing Santa Claus!”

SMH that’s absurd. Sad that a 5 year old with long hair triggered some grannies, I would hate to be that person’s children & grandchildren lol.
