  1. Wow, Basilashvili beat Fed. Feels like these guys wanted to pounce. Glad they didn’t simply get intimidated by the “aura” as they did when he returned rusty early in 2017.
  2. From Charlottesville, Virginia 🇺🇸
  3. Jan-Michael Gambill 🇺🇸
  4. The View can trend for Meghan McCain’s silly hairdos, and they want in on the action. CBS Daytime is a disaster across the board.
  5. It IS so weird because it’s such an old white lady, Upper East Side show. Old white ladies on the UES don’t tend to have very diverse friendships. Did someone say that Ramona surprisingly bonded with Eboni, or did I dream that?
  6. They just want their ratings up by any means necessary. Kinda gross.
  7. What happened? I did not see this. Ok I see it now. Didn’t watch today. Guess they want to be The View.
  8. From Spain 🇪🇸
  9. Nadine Velazquez has been cast as the fourth member of the group. Sounds like her character has become sort of a Wendy Williams type. https://deadline.com/2021/03/nadine-velazquez-abc-hip-hop-drama-pilot-queens-1234709580/
  10. I agree. Half of them were dreadful (Olivia, Kandi, Tina, Utica). The others were meh. I agree that Gottmik and Rosé were the best of the bunch, but that wasn’t saying much.
  11. Renewed for S2: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/equalizer-renewed-season-2-cbs
  12. Certainly the Oscars have had some left-field choices in recent years (Benh Zeitlin, Lenny Abrahamson). The above seems a feasible final five, though. I see Regina got nominated as a first-time director.
  13. I wonder if that’s our Oscar final 5 or if Regina King might break in.

C’mon now. This is great comedy!
  15. Given that he’s trending No. 1 on Twitter for a show that doesn’t even air here, he’ll be monetizing his BS somewhere else very soon.
  16. Institutions are crumbling one by one, some more slowly than others. I would say “pass the popcorn,” but too many innocent folks will be hurt by vengeful people aiming to hold on to their increasingly flimsy power.
  17. Saw the BAFTA nominations, whose acting and directing nominees are now determined by special juries to address diversity concerns. They are unlikely to be as closely followed as an Oscar precursor. Four of the directing nominees are women, and the acting categories are loaded with nominees of color. Notably, the entire BAFTA membership votes for Best Film, whose nominees are NOT as diverse. (Not even Ma Rainey or Judas and the Black Messiah are nominated there.) 19. Looking like Zhao, Boseman, and Kaluuya are locks. Carey Mulligan seems to be looking likely as Best Actress, but that still feels a bit open. Supporting Actress is anyone’s guess. We shall see if Nomadland resonates enough with the Academy for Best Picture.
  20. Brandy has signed on alongside Eve and Naturi Naughton: https://deadline.com/2021/03/brandy-star-queens-abc-hip-hop-drama-pilot-1234709087/
