Her career is doing okay, I guess. She was touring but had to cancel due to some vocal issues. I don't think she's releasing the right songs. Heartbeat Song was a good choice to start but Invincible isn't that great and Piece By Piece was okay. The best song on the album, and my favourite, is Someone. Such a fantastic song produced by Greg Kurstin. Let Your Tears Fall and In The Blue are really good too. Alright, that's enough of Kelly Clarkson talk. This is a Taylor thread. Though if you want to continue this Kelly discussion, you could make an official thread since there isn't any.

Blank Space is one of my favourites so I'm glad she chose to submit that. It's not like she was going to submit Wildest Dreams or Bad Blood and she totally gave up on Style from the very beginning. So choosing her biggest smash hit was the better choice, and with the nominations, was proven correct. In the pop categories, I think Kelly Clarkson has a great chance because she's already Best Pop Vocal Album twice. But if Taylor lost in that category, I wouldn't mind it going to Kelly because I thought her album was really good and it has a lot of great songs on it.

So agreed with these two posts! It's characters like these that make the show so frustrating to watch - they're liabilities that get people killed. Morgan is also responsible for letting those Wolves go that shot up Rick's mobile-home. It was so pointless to bring him back. He adds nothing to the crew. He just endangers them. This guy really needs to die.

Yup, I knew about it. I keep up on Max Martin news. I'm pretty sure that the song will be released as a single and it will go to #1. And it will get Max closer to Paul McCartney's record of most #1s as a writer.

Loved that SNL Thanksgiving miracle. This is only after one listen, so songs may grown on me as I listen to it more. I thought the album was good but not spectacular. I liked 9 out of the 14 songs. So far my favourites are: Hello, Send My Love (To Your New Lover), Water Under The Bridge. The songs are definitely not at the caliber of 21's songs. There are no really big songs like: Someone Like You, Rolling In The Deep, Turning Tables, Set Fire To The Rain.

Glad Glenn is alive but it was rather ridiculous how they made us think he was dead for three episodes in a row. And the way he survived too was silly. Agreed with @Darn that it should've been a commercial cliffhanger than a 3 episodes thing.

Good! Britney and will.iam did not go well together. I love DJ Mustard's tracks so I'm looking forward to that one.

Three episodes later and they still haven't dealt with Glen's death. He's a main character, what's taking so long? This is ridiculous.

This stand alone episode was very boring and such a momentum killer. I was looking forward to this episode but after the first minute I knew what I was in for - a backstory episode. Ugh. I feel like AMC wants 1-2 episodes like this a season to save money.

I'm very disappointed that Glen died, and the way he died. Glen was an original and a hero who deserved a better death. He should've died doing something heroic, something that helps/saves the group. His death should've been bigger. Instead he dies because of some idiot shoots himself? Also, there's way too many weak characters who don't know how to do anything. It's so frustrating to watch them.

Early estimates are in for the albums first week: 1.3-1.8 million. She's coming for Britney's record (1.32 million). Early estimates are usually low, so I can see her getting 2 million, and possibly going after Nsync's record (2.4 million). Crazy. No, I haven't.

Beautiful. I hope they release more songs that she performed that night. I really want her "Greatest Hits" album to be an acoustic album. Instead of just cutting/pasting songs to create a Best Of, do what Ryan Adams did for 1989 and make an entire new/acoustic sound for each song.

I like it! Whenever she sings "Hello" in the song, I can't help but think of Lionel Richie's "Hello." lol I'm glad to see her working with Ryan Tedder (again), Greg Kurstin and Max Martin - I love them as producers/writers. I'm especially intrigue about the Max Martin song. While Adele's songs are more "deeper", Max is mostly known for pure pop, and artists usually go to him for hits - so Adele really didn't need to go to Max. I'm curious to find out why she wanted to work with him. Looking forward to the album.

Taylor Swift's '1989' Only Fifth Album to Spend First Year in Billboard 200's Top 10 Nice! Congrats, Taylor! Wanted to wait a year before I did my rankings for '1989' because sometimes songs take time to grow on you, or something happens that make you really like a song. I like every song but I separated them into four tiers. 1. Blank Space 1. Style 1. Out Of The Woods 1. I Wish You Would 1. All You Had To Do Was Stay 6. Shake It Off 7. This Love 8. You Are In Love 8. Clean 10. Welcome To New York 11. Wonderland 12. Wildest Dreams 12. I Know Places 14. Bad Blood 14. New Romantics 16. How You Get The Girl

I love it when Taylor talks about writing/producing her songs. She played a couple more of her voice notes and showed snippets of some recording sessions. I really like the instrument that Imogeon Heap uses for the beginning of "Clean" - it makes such cool sounds. Part 3: https://www.grammypro.com/professional-development/video/listening-session-taylor-swift-1989-part-3 Part 2: https://www.grammypro.com/professional-development/video/listening-session-taylor-swift-1989-part-2 Part 1: https://www.grammypro.com/professional-development/video/listening-session-taylor-swift-1989-part-1 I wish they would release the entire thing, even if it's hours long.

I don't think so. There are rumours that Scott is trying to sell Big Machine but he's not getting any bids because people are waiting to see if Taylor signs a new contract first - she has one album and a greatest hits album left on her contract. It wouldn't make sense for someone to buy Big Machine if Taylor isn't with it. She/her parents own a small percentage of Big Machine but I don't think Taylor has enough money to buy Scott's shares.

I can't name you one Ryan Adams song but I really liked his 1989 cover album. His style isn't really my style but some songs are fantastic! AYHTWS is favourite. It has an 80's rock vibe to it. I can't stop listening to this. LOL Then my next two favourites are IWYW (the instrumentals during the chorus make the song) and This Love the original is already slow but Ryan slows it down even more by playing it on piano and by doing that makes the song even more sadder).

For women's side, I don't know and I don't care. LOL I never heard of those players left. Before the tourny started I bet on Serena+Roger and Serena+Joker to win. Now that Serena lost and I can't win, I'm going to root for Roger.

The Tennis Thread
This is such a bad lost, one of Serena's worst in her career due to the magnitude of the possible Grand Slam and because of the easy draw she had. There were no top seeds left, no previous champions, and she blew it.
-
The Tennis Thread
WTF! How did Serena lose? She basically had no competition left (all the big names were gone), the tournament was hers, the Grand Slam was right there, and she loses after winning the first set? What a huge disappointment. I had money on her too. Damn. LOL

Yeah, sometimes it's random because she'll find out during the concert who's there. It's a great way to network and to surprise your audience. Like, I said, it doesn't hurt anyone, so why not do it at some of the shows? I like to stay away from Jezebel and other sites like that. I call them "hate sites." LOL I think she will transition from straight up pop to pop/rock (U2, Coldplay, One Republic) in her 30's. Then in her 40's, she'll settle in that pop/rock/country sound. And I think that's when she's going to start writing and producing for other artists and become the next Max Martin - writing and producing #1 songs for younger artists for the next 20 years. I also see her starting her own record label. I went to my first one in July - my second one will be in October. I had floor seats and was right in of the rail and was about halfway between the catwalk, so I saw her walk pass by me multiple times. And sometimes she would stop right in from of me. That's the closest I'll probably ever get to her. I doubt I'll ever get the chance to meet her. LOL Happy birthday!!!

I'm not sure that's what he said. Tweets are hard to interpret the context. I went to his timeline and read that tweet and it's hard to know what he's replying too or the what the context is. You can't believe everything you like on sites like Jezebel because they take things and twist it. It's just a fun thing (re: the guests during Style). Not everyone one of them are her friends. If she finds out they're coming to the concert, she'll ask them if they'll like to be part of the show. There's no harm in what she's doing and it's a nice surprise for the fans. As for the musical guests, I think that's an awesome way to show your appreciation for other artists, whether it's artists of the past or up and coming artists who are getting a boost by going on stage with Taylor. It's such great exposure for them. And Taylor's been doing this since her Speak Now Tour. I don't think she will. I think she'll release her next album in October 2016 - continuing the every 2 years cycle. She told a reporter that she's already starting to write notes about the next album. I think the less commercial thing will happen in her 30's. Right now it's her time to shine, she's going to continue with the big singles. I also see her starting a family in her 30's and that's when she'll take longer breaks between albums.

Taylor is racist because she twerked in the Shake It Off Video. Taylor is sexist in the Blank Space video. Taylor is anti-feminist in the Bad Blood video. And now this. Like give me a break. I really liked this video too, though I don't think it passes Blank Space for me. Love beautiful African scenery. And it's awesome that all proceeds from this video will go to wild animal conservation efforts.
