  1. Some remarks about THE 1994 BRIDGE WEDDING. It has stellar production values and still holds up in 15th viewing (these were some of the episodes always available on YouTube and has been rerun 6 (?) times on CBS, I guess) as great entertainment. Taylor is now held captive and desperately wants to return to Ridge who thinks that time has come for his happily ever after with Brooke. What I didn’t remember? The plot in Morocco is rather “rushed” to reach this climax considering that the rest of the story will last months. A lot happened within one or two weeks to get there and so far I still like the Arabian Nights plot. Moroccan Orphan Annie has not arrived on scene and there might be other cringe worthy stuff coming up, if I remember correctly. Back in L.A., the show brought back the Logans and gave them some airtime ahead of the wedding. Stephen not seen since 1988, Katie and Donna not appearing since 1991 (Eric & Brooke wedding!), Storm returning with the original portrayer not seen since 1989 (Ethan Wayne was looking great back then – I’m confused why he did not get more TV work!?) and Beth not seen in this incarnation since 1990. Kristen’s return was kinda blah because she suddenly harbouring a grudge against Brooke for five seconds (why?) before becoming her maid of honor. Felicia was the missing link but her absence was at least addressed. So far so good. The actual wedding which has always been the epitome of amazing production values looks INTERESTING in the pristine picture quality provided in the vault. From it, it sure looks like it a lot of scenes were taped in the studio with a photo/video backdrop. Seems like filming on the beach was not feasible with the big cameras back then. Thorne’s data Ivana was probably not at the beach wedding and simply edited in at the studio. Speaking of continuity, KKL’s son was sick the days they taped all studio scenes of the previous episodes but was suddenly back at the wedding as ringbearer. Carrie Mitchum’s Donna was at the beach to film the wedding but apparently not when they took these flimsy photos back at the studio with the intention to fill airtime without spending too much time and money for the rest of the episode. Weird!
  2. Sorry, that was a typo on my part: I meant 1995. I assume it was one of very few pre-emption dates in 1995. Can you confirm this? One more question about Thanksgiving / Christmas: did the show air on December 25 in 1995 (#2192 aka the most rerun B&B Xmas on CBS) or did the show air the Friday after Thanksgiving (November 24, 1995), meaning that the Christmas show aired on Friday, December 22?
  3. Wow - thanks for checking all these... It adds up with data and some "given dates" perfectly. If I may ask: April 19, 1994 was a national pre-emption for B&B (Oklahoma City bombing) and no new episode aired? A fascinating effect (sort of) of all the OJ pre-emotions was B&B starting season 9 with #2001, even though standard seasons are always more than 250 episodes a year.
  4. Yes, but the copyright is uaually up-to-date. Meaning the first episode of 2023 had 2023 as copyright date. Should have been the same in 1995 - unless there was a last-minute-preemption in December 1994 or they messed up... I'd be curious to get info on this, too! Someone on here was tech-savvy enough to dig out the old google groups on soaps... Could he/she help? @YRBB was this you? On a related note: the Excel file provided in the Vault has Thursday September 29 1994 as a pre-emption. I think this is wrong and therefore all airdates from August-September are off by one day. Can someone confirm that B&B did or did not air on September 29 - the day before part of the Bridge Malibu wedding aired on CBS!?
  5. I was just about to share this. Splendid news! A fashion show!? In Rome no less!? Sure, I might have chosen more or other actors but this should get reallllllly good...
  6. @slick jones and others with the skills to recognize familiar faces. In #1865 Prince Omar throws a lavish party for his dear "Leila" (Taylor). This causes a huge influx of extras and day players to be seen. Is this by any chance Academy Award Nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo (which we all know best as Dina Araz, the mother of Behrooz on "24" with Kiefer Sutherland)!??? On B&B she is Greesa Abineer (and never to be seen again, I guess), the wife of Omar's treasurer.
  7. Apparently, some people liked it. I was not one of them. So ICA‘M
  8. That Jabot/Forrester Crossover was a huge mess. SI much wasted Potential. It just felt off
  9. Sounds ominous. Isn’t every episode about this theme??? that said: Brad usually delivers for these events
  10. In my memory 1999/2000 had great storyLINES. Stories actually mattered and had a huge buildup and big climax. Downside: every day in LA lasted liked 20 episodes and we only got to see a certain set of characters for those days. Amber was on every single day. 24/7.
  11. +1 I looks extremely dated and fanmade. Like when YouTube first became "a thing" - if someone got paid more than a dollar for this, he/she who authorised this project should be fired ASAP.
  12. Awesome. Indeed, that's principal from Glee. And he was guest star on basically every sitcom on the 90s. Good catch!
  13. Woohoo! Thanks a lot! @slick jones and others: Surprise sighting - Rebecca Budig as Cathy in #1857 (August 1994), a very minor role in a campus scene with Dylan and Jessica. EDIT: Do we know this actor? I think I have seen his face on various 1990s sitcoms!
  14. Thanks for sharing these links. On Instagram there is also tons of great stuff… Tom Hallick, J Eddie Peck & Victoria Rowell. They truly invited a lot of folks that are usually not around at those Y&R parties and/or have not been seen on Y&R in decades. Kudos! A lush party - and a huge one at that. EDIT: Phill Morris, Robert Parucha and Roberta Leighton - talk about some more surprise guests
  15. This is pretty cool - and a pleasant surprise. Considering that primetime ratings are in the toilet on several occasions during the week, it's about time that use this space to promote their daytime line-up/use this rather cheap filler material. IMO; they should give primetime airings of the soaps another try. LIke last year when Sheila shot Steffy and Finn it should have been a primetime event in either a one hour or two hour block.
  16. Ah, fond memories of the original desperate housewife: Mid90s Nikki was GOLD. She literrally barely left the ranch - and, even if she did, it took her like 10 episodes to do so and her main reason was to spout insults at Christine or Ashley (?).
  17. I’m not watching the YouTube uploads for this season, but even with Videoland the closing titles for 1987-1990 episodes have been sometimes “fishy”, meaning not in sync of what we have seen onscreen and it sometimes appeared to be the same credits for many episodes. As for the 1997 episodes: they are simply messing things up. We have discussed this a couple of pages back... Thanks for the detailed recap. I noticed this, too, and was completely unaware during the original watch that Taylor's story was botched up repeatedly probably due to Tylo's outs. @slick jonesand other trivia buffs: Any idea who played DR. PARMELL in #1850? a doctor with whom Eric is discussing the proecure of having a vasectomy.
  18. Ain't this the truth. I was shocked. On B&B it seemed like they actually spent some time to polish for the return scripts and stories. Didn't sound like it in Genoa City at all.
  19. I would not go that far that the episodes are now unwatchable (some of Taylor/Thorne had that label even with music... ;-))) but I noticed it too over the weekend. No closing credits and no background music for the past 20+ episodes. Very weird - indeed I'm also hoping for the continuing videoland uploads.
  20. Sums up the year perfectly. The redemption arc for Jack(while not must-see TV storyline wise, but very appealing acting wise) was also promimently feautured.
  21. About the 1994 episodes: do we know why the show decided to have Ridge go out on a date with Bikini Bar waitress Rhonda around #1831!??? It is super random and weird. First of all, they had not met until she suddenly popped up at Forrester Creations and immediately sked him out on a date. Rhonda was also not seen much for 1 1/2 years as her only purpose was to be around Sly, Zach and Felicia during the Ganz story in fall 1992. Plus, there are plenty of model character floating at the company to serve as a possible date for Ridge!?
  22. Question: are we certain of the preemption days for B&B in 1994 during OJ? #1830 is a fourth of July episode with a pool party for Jessica - but according to the circulating data in the Vault (excel file of B&B air dates provided by a lovely board member!) it aired on July 13, 1994 o CBS due to various pre-emption in late June / early July. Some on here used to be savvy enough and constantly checked the old google tv goups or sth. like that from 1990s. Could he/she probably confirm when this episode aired? That's Mykel Shannon Jenkins who won the SOAPNET show Who wants to be soap star!? (or sth. like that) and was signed up by busy talent manager Michael Bruno. Jenkins was brought onto B&B as the son of Lt. Baker, Det. Charlie Baker. Everyone suspected Brad Bell was serious about adding a black family in 2007 but he was not. Despite being initially on contract, Charlie Baker was never more than a police man and quickly disappaered. He was occassionally used as the detective until 2012 but eventually forgotten. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0420926/
  23. That's a pretty balanced use of the cast (read: Amelia Heinle finally dropped to mid-tier appearances...)
