  1. Very cool - late 1992 is still rare (let’s hope for the Dutch rebroadcasts of B&B!!!) and this one even had closing credits. Splendid - thanks for sharing! It WAS a good period of the show. Windsor Harmon & Schade Harrison were awesome together. Brad Bell threw in the towel with them way too soon.
  2. Or she was just very pricey!? That one article mentioned that she made 1 million a year, plus another 1,5 million for her writing team - in 1979!? This should equal to 10 million today or so... if the ratings did not improve why tank so much money on a writing team when you can it for 25% of that sum...
  3. To little connections to the cast!? and Ashley Jones scored big when she was hired as Bridget on B&B which garnered her years worth of front burner storylines.
  4. The Dennisons weren’t exactly introduced in one of the shows most golden periods. They totally fit the bill of the likes of Kurt Costner. They were not exactly great characters; I’m nearly always Team Jill, so gutting her with Keith was not exactly my dream pairing. Ironical, I loved Megan with Tony and fell in love with Tricia eventually as well - when she went off the deep end. The only time Keith was ever good was when we got a TEMP KEITH in 1999 (?). That actor was super sexy and had off the charts chemistry with Jess Walton. I never understood why they went back to the original portrayer Granville Van Dusen (?) for all future visits.
  5. As for the adults and permanent recasts: yes. if you add in child actors, I’d assume that it is Bridget...
  6. This storyline was like... B&B had perfected its storytelling technique: outlandish stories - sometimes not too stellar - but the climax of those stories was always a must see event. I still don’t understand why Brad Bell felt it was smart to kill off Macy back then, but it sure made some great drama and most memorable moments.
  7. Wow - this is pretty cool. Random but interesting.
  8. Rightfully so! All I remember of him is that Thorne suddenly wore turtlenecks
  9. Wasn’t all this on EVERY single cover of CBS SiD in 2002 AND 2003!?
  10. Gotcha. Amber is already pregnant and Pierce/Bailey are established characters. My bet is on Fall. It's September 1998. Someone else may doublecheck, but I think this could be half of #2877 which originally aired September 4, 1998 on CBS.
  11. What episode are you referring to? Just checked the 1998 folder in the Vault and could not see aynthing undated
  12. I think, the Dutch broadcaster of B&B, RTL, started airing the first 30 episodes for the show's 30 anniversary in the Netherlands. [Similiar to what the Swedish broadcaster did for 25 years (?) of B&B. ] Apparently, the viewership was pretty impressive and so they continued until episode 100 or 200... Then, probably due to a diminishing audience, RTL Group switched the reruns to a niche cable channel, RTL LOUNGE, where B&B is shown with current episodes anyway. It's always 5 shows a week and they have just passed the 1000 episode mark... It seems like they do not intend to stop; however in the past in some countries May 1992 was the turning point for reruns. Hopefully, they will not stop there... The VAULT uploads are very much up-to-date. In addition to the TV broadcasts, RTL Group as a streaming service VIDEOLAND and this is where the super crispy uploads with full closing credits come from. I recently tried a VPN (hide me) and it worked perfectly to register at Videoland.nl -vpayment via Paypal is possible. However, it is such a treat that some gentle sols keep blessing us with the free uploads to the Vault...
  13. I think until 2011 the Maria Arena Bell years were VERY watchable (especially compared to everything that followed...). I could not sit through the last year of her tenure, though. and +1 to 1998 as THE must-see-year for Y&R.
  14. And they dropped the pairing really out of the blue within 3 episodes. Strange! Appreciated! Thank you for your contribution...
  15. This is incredible. While I cannot wait to watch this period of Y&R, every time one of the "missing" episodes shows up, I'm thankful tohave waited to be able to see the (almost) complete year in a row - finally.
  16. Glad you’re enjoying it. I have never seen any rerun and therefore just relying on destinc memories, but I had a real soft spot for Kathleen Quinlan and the stellar cast of Family Law.
  17. The Bill/Stephanie scenes were always soooo good and screamed "chemistry" . Too bad that Bill Bell never delved into this relationship or REALLY into the Bill Senior character for that matter. Bill was never more than the concerned daddy or token-husband of Margo. Every single time Bill Bell wrote a story for Bill Sr. he quickly dropped it wihin 5 minutes.
  18. This DID happen in January 1996. Ridge, Lauren, Stephanie - they all visited to tell Sheila exactly that. The only one with whom Sheila sought contact was Brooke.
  19. Sheila had some fun stuff. Don't forget the torn up bridal gown after that delicious catfight with Lauren! The 2018 return wasn't that bad. Brad Bell did a lot of stuff right. Instead of the previous desaster returns, Sheila seemed slightly more grunded, yet still interesting. Too bad Kim Brown was more interested in politics than playing second fiddle on B&B after the inital return which gave us Quinn/Eric/Sheila/Maaaaaaaaatteoooooo - the godsend masseur. LOL The waitressing job at Il Giardino was a nice twist to have her snoop in to various storyline. Like the Spectra revival, this return just fell flat because it was too short-lived.
  20. I second that. Welcome to the board! I'm continuing with my journey through 1996 thanks to Bundy1965's courtesy. I have now reached mid-July. #2338 is one of those episodes where I can only chime in that they fail to create such kind of brilliance today and have failed for a while. Due to some insta-plot twists - Maggie kissing Eric, Sheila falling for James - the storyline of Stephanie's poisoning reached a stunning turn: Sheila framed Maggie who - as a true dim-wit - tried to prove her innocence by breaking and entering into Sheila's house. Cue: verbal spat and Maggie pushing Sheila... right into a fire poker (Sheila should have asked: Karma is that you!?). Fast-forward a couple of episodes later, you have James urging Maggie to stay away from Sheila. Of course, Maggie makes a beeline to Sheila's hospital room. Another argument ensues and Sheila cleverly pushes Maggie's button who freaks. In a super-cheesy scene, Maggie trips over some flexible tubes and they get pulled. Cue: James walks into the room as Sheila desperately struggles for air. Amazing!
  21. It was a great storyline. Although it is much shorter than I remembered it. The difference of binge-watching vs actual schedule on TV... Susan Flannery was amazing and Michelle Davison (Ruthanne) is a class-act and gave Stephanie some much-needed lawyers.
  22. 1. I'm currently watching the German episodes by Bundy1965 (December 1995-December 1996 is on my plate...) 2. I know... And then everyone inside has to stand as far away from the door as possible when someone enters the house. Riiiiiiight. Absolutely life-like. LOL
  23. Sorry to interrupt the early 1990s nostalgia for B&B: I was just watching #2326 (US-airdate 1996-07-03) in which Sheila tries to re-swap Stephanie's calcium pills for actual calcium pills close to the end of the Mercury poisoning story. Like in the only time in 34+ years of B&B: Lauren actually does look the patio window AND the main door to the Forrester Mansion. Rightfully, Sheila is furious - 'cause I cannot of a single other occasion where the Forrester did lock the door to the fancy-schmanzy mansion and that a stranger could NOT just walk in... it was hilarious!
  24. In 1990 it was often mentioned that the Logan House in the Valley, in Encino.
  25. I have the same dates. Early 1991 is a black box due to Dessert Storm pre-emptions on CBS. Videoland has been incorrect with its defintion fo season ever sinc eseason 2 or 3... The official numbering was indeed the show's anniversary. Same with Y&R. Then in about 2011 CBS switched the renewals for its soaps to Fall in-line with primetime shows.
