  1. She sure isn't. The fact that he foolishly never bothered to get his own paternity test furthers this belief
  2. And yet, somehow it all worked for him, and still does.
  3. Tyler Perry didn't get to where he is, nor did he acquire his very loyal and sizable audience, by being basic. He just didn't.
  4. I love it when people make up their own stories too! They often read better than those of the actual "writers" and often make a lot more sense too, whether it's good or bad, liked or disliked.
  5. Countdown to Tyrell being the one "shooting up the club" with Jessica resulting in the clichéd "oops" moment when she announces that she's pregnant. I mean, it's the "payback" for Martin and Smitty "watchdogging" and grounding Samantha who at least had a condom in her presence.
  6. Lamon Archey doesn't sound too bad as Luke Hawthorne at all. Throw in Cassandra Freeman as Darlene and it's complete. As for Mr. Jamey Giddens, he was pretty stellar with "Ambitions". THINGS HAPPENED on that show complete with cliffhangers. It reminded me of a daytime soap in the best way.
  7. I kind of see what you mean and I'm not even one who usually references these things. The Hawthorne scenes, and make no mistake, I fully support this family and their expansion on the show, but the scene with the three Hawthorne men almost came off like a skit. I was chuckling a little bit. It even looked like they had smirks on their faces while delivering dialogue. Somehow I didn't feel the supposed tension between Elon and Izaiah either. Izaiah's behavior is so laid back that I couldn't quite envision him as some uncontrolled wild child repeatedly spending time in jail. So I guess he got his act together cold turkey? Also, the sudden referencing of some "boo" by the name of Yolanda? Anyhoo.......
  8. Why would it have mattered if anything was retconned or not? Is this really important? If it works with or without it for the better then who cares? Retconning is not new to the world of soaps.
  9. Lol. I don't think believing that Luke/Izaiah could've been a retcon was nitpicking at all. It was an honest belief or assumption to make. The irony of it all is that Izaiah is the character that the audience never knew existed until very recently. He came out of nowhere. This, along with Luke being mentioned a long time ago with no further mentioning of his character until now, is what caused people to wonder if there was a shift making them one and the same.
  10. I like daddy Elon for aesthetic reasons, but his lying and hypocrisy is amazing. Again, he was trying to make Jacob feel guilty about accusing him of being on the take when he knows it's true. And coming down on Izaiah for perceived irresponsibility? Come on now pops. On another note, how thoughtful of the writers to give all four Hawthorne men biblical names. I suppose the next addition might be Elon's twin brother "Elijah?" 😃
  11. Your wish (and mine) has been granted. Now we just wait for "Luke" to get an actual face at some point. 😆
  12. BRAVO! This show didn't forget we heard LUKE being mentioned very early on and didn't change a thing. More male characters have been needed so this is a win.
  13. I like this. It sounds very well put together.
  14. Jacob's brother when first mentioned months ago was named Luke. He was described, at the time, as also being a cop. I assume this may have been changed, and Luke is now known as Izaiah with a different career background. Unless, of course, there are three Hawthorne brothers instead of two. I wouldn't mind that being the case.
  15. Madison's mother? That's if the character is actually cast of course.
  16. Well let's see: Madison's mom sounds like some kind of an amateur fortune teller. Is the show going to infuse some kind of supernatural fluff into it? Joey's making bets on Dani's and Andre's marriage. Me thinks Andre should probably just come clean NOW. To avoid any possible fallout should he be hiding something devastating. Izaiah seems so calm, cool, and collected on the surface and somehow I'm waiting for that exterior to unmask someone who's really not very nice. I think we'll discover that he's actually jealous of Jacob and Jacob doesn't even know it, which means Izaiah will likely be causing trouble (with Eva's help).
  17. I certainly thought that the hapless victim poisoned by mistake scenario was going to happen with the laced cupcake consumed by Naomi. Nope! I do think SOMEONE is going to be poisoned by accident though. It might end up being just a day player character or something. It would be clever if Bill's PI friend were the victim, temporarily throwing a monkey wrench into Bill's quest against Andre.
  18. This show is slowly regaining my attention. Fingers crossed they don't put the plotlines involving Hayley and Andre on the shelf for three months. Keep it coming regularly.
  19. Hayley referred to her "dear friend" Caroline as a nosey b**ch. Smh. Hayley was just faking everything, wasn't she?
  20. Hey. I've noticed the pick up of intrigue too, and it's all for the better in my opinion. I love the offbeat setup of Hayley trying to kill Bill. Makes ya wonder how Andre would feel about Hayley's motivations if he knew that her mark was snooping around in HIS background and gunning for him. Andre would probably support her fully. 😲
  21. I think I like Izaiah already. He implies that his dreams were crushed (whatever they were). Betcha he's gonna blame his dirty cop daddy for that.
  22. Andre's established background as a lothario makes any scenario possible. How about he's on the run after being caught romancing a dangerous mobster's wife. Or maybe his wealth doesn't actually stem from an inheritance after the death of his parents, but is actually stolen mob money. Anything! I love the mystery feel of it though.
  23. Whatever is going on with Andre, I'm just glad that something is brewing beyond him just having endless sex with Dani. That is not a storyline. Andre was established as a wealthy world traveling lothario. I don't mind taking a peek into that aspect of his life. There's lots of potential storyline discovery.
  24. Same. This is feeling more like the show it should've been from the jump. More character mysteries. These characters were created with too much interesting background to just go to waste.
  25. I'm glad they decided to bring up Andre not ever being photographed. This was hinted at in the first week of the show. Andre wanted to take a photograph of his aunt and uncle. Something having to do with the hospital if I recall. Kat, out of nowhere, offered to take a picture of Andre and he refused nervously.
