  1. Perhaps this is the answer. MJV hiring some crime fiction writers to give it more of that vibe. The late great Henry Slesar was awesome by the way, and The Edge of Night was simply one of a kind. Yall done "got me in my feels" so what the hell, here goes..............
  2. Hey, I'm not complaining about Jacob at all. Even if he defied his daddy then great. His daddy is a criminal who has been arrogantly lying to him, so go Jacob.
  3. I still think this show has been hella predictable. Too predictable oftentimes, but good job today on the revelations of Craig. He's still breathing first of all. I actually thought, like many others, that he'd been done in at some point by crazy Allison. But nope! Then comes the revelation that he's one of Joey's paid whores. I really didn't see any of that coming. It was a good way to use the revelation we got months ago about Joey also owning an escort service specializing in male sex workers.
  4. Whatever happened to Jacob being assigned desk duty? Looks like he defied his duplicitous daddy.
  5. So Craig is a "working girl" for Joey? Craig is probably going to end up being more incorporated into the show solely because of that.
  6. Well, Craig is still alive as I've read elsewhere that people thought he was dead via Allison. Not her husband or boyfriend? I guess just some bum looking for a bag?
  7. Yes. I wouldn't mind SOME soap tropes being considered for this show. The natural disaster dynamic is always a proven good one, as we've seen many times with the soap predecessors. The other one, and it's kinda been mentioned ad nauseum, though I think will always apply, is that second family. Not some dirt poor family reminiscent of the Evans family from Good Times, but a working class brood to clash with the uppities aka Duprees. Again, it's one that always worked in the past and it would work with BTG too.
  8. OK. We're already seeing possible innuendo about Jacob and Kat immediately on the heels of innuendo about Old man Vernon? I'm all for drama but too much of the same thing practically back to back is ridiculous. Does drama not exist in any other form besides swapping bodily fluids by people who shouldn't have or shouldn't?
  9. We never have anything to ponder about. Allison is the kidnapper. Go figure!
  10. Lol. See what I mean? Veronica was taunting that white cop who had a thing for her son Jeffrey. I can envision Leslie taunting Ted's weak a$$ exactly like this.
  11. I think with the pacing being too fast or too slow, they are still missing the mark in a lot of ways, but that's mostly because it's not being written to begin with. Leslie seems much less Sheila Carter now, and more of a watered down Veronica Harrington. Veronica was both crazy and very cartoonish.
  12. I'm going to be a little bit more direct about Ms. Duckworth's explanation. There is something that's referred to as "walking and chewing gum at the same time." If you truly know what you're doing, then this would not be seen as a challenge, which begs the question: How much experience do these people have as writers? She talks about storyline beats? Well, they've missed a lot of those even with storylines moving like snails and flowing like molasses. Soooo......And I would've loved if she had mentioned, for example, putting a storyline and characters on the shelf in March, then returning to that storyline and characters in September. These storyline gaps feel unnecessary and doesn't help, and has played some part in viewer dissatisfaction.
  13. Sure, and I think it would be very good if they were red herrings, as it would surprisingly be a first, and make things on this show much less predictable.
  14. I think the theory largely comes from character dialogue and innuendo. Most notably, Anita saying to Vernon, I think more than once, that he'd never cheat on her. Sure, there's zero actual proof thus far, but dialogue and innuendo is what people are giving the side eye to.
  15. I think June is going to better herself, which ironically, will be what causes further complications for the family. June is going to eventually win back the hearts of her children. Martin will become accepting of it while poor Smitty will be left seething about the whole thing. Smitty clearly doesn't appreciate June's presence. The hostile look he had on his face last week towards June said it all.
  16. I knew this situation with June was going to become complicated. Whether or not they care to admit it, Samantha and Tyrell are starting to feel something for her.
  17. Baffling, isn't it? When they KNOW who Leslie is, what she's done, and most certainly what she's capable of.
  18. The continous innuendo sure isn't helping to dispel a certain belief. Stop it show. Stop it.
  19. This is my first time seeing a soap from the very beginning as well. I tend to believe that the soaps of the past did have their share of growing pains from the very start, but here's also the deal in my opinion, along with those growing pains there was patience on the other side of it. Audience patience, specifically. People were far more willing to stand by and support these soaps as they attempted to grow. That level of patience no longer exists here in 2025. I have to question whether MVJ and her team even realizes this? Please MVJ and crew read this: TODAY'S AUDIENCE IS NOT YESTERDAY'S AUDIENCE. It's either sink or swim, IMMEDIATELY!
  20. Perhaps if it hadn't been made crystal clear that Dante Green played a very integral role in the lives of The Articulettes, then his lack of presence wouldn't have mattered so much. We watched these three women squabbling in disagreement for weeks with Mr. Green being mentioned several times. I reasonably kept expecting him to show up as a result, but nothing.
  21. I would never be too quick to dismiss fan theories. Many of them have been as much right as they've been wrong. These things can always go either way, and this show is quite predictable too, so there's that.
  22. Once again, I have mixed feelings about a lot of this. I don't like the idea of Vernon being this woman's father simply because why would they use this plot point AGAIN, and so soon after using it twice previously. No creativity here. But at the same time, it would be the kind of drama resulting in real crap hitting the fan for many obvious reasons, so I don't know. I also feel like Dante Green should've been introduced while Anita, Tracy, and Sharon were squabbling for weeks. Now the three women have made peace and Tracy and Sharon are about to embark on a fabulous new journey. Dante Green should've already been present through all of it. So he shows up later to discover he's fathered a horrid daughter with a dead woman. Sounds like a "who cares" type of an outcome. Father and daughter deserve each other. Just give Silkpress her due and they can both go their merry way. But will it all turn out this simple? Stay tuned!
  23. It certainly appears that this show has adopted a certain pattern. I suppose Jacob is next for infidelity?
  24. There definitely is a man shortage on this show. Look no further than the main family. Six Dupree women and only two Dupree men. And if, and I do mean IF, Leslie is unmasked as a Dupree, then that will make two more women connected to the family. Eight Dupree women vs. two Dupree men.
  25. What a relief! I'm so glad she didn't say Anita. Now, who's Silkpress's daddy?
