  1. Usually I don't post what happened on today's episode (for any soap) out of respect for those who haven't viewed it yet. But there really isn't much happening on Y&R so I don't feel like I'm revealing anything by mentioning the sets and wardrobe. LOL.
  2. New. Friday June 27 U.S. (Thurs. June 26 CDN) near the offscreen swimming pool, Cane tries to speak with Lily. Lily tells Cane she doesn't love him any more at all. Damian walks up. Lily grabs Damian and kisses him. Canadian screencap
  3. No Chance in swimsuit in France today. But we do get Holden jogging shirtless in Genoa City.
  4. Other plot device: The characters in France have not had cellphone service since their arrival. Today (Thurs 26th US), they learned that the storm last night washed out the railroad tracks and the roads up to the château. Until that situation is fixed, they are stuck there.
  5. Forgot to mention, when a character steps out of view saying they are going for a swim, we hear splashing sound effects. But we don't see the pool. And then when the characters walk back into the scene, they are wet from having swum.
  6. Today Thursday U.S. (June 26), they're at the swimming pool at the "Dumas"(Ashby) estate. Characters in swimsuits. Sunning themselves on chaises longues. No swimming pool is shown, just a blue and white geometric design on the carpet or floor of the poolside area where the scene takes place. I wonder if we'll have months of summer swimming pool scenes without a pool? There is a GCAC rooftop pool set that the show uses some summers. I wonder if it will be repurposed for France? Or will the pool in France always be just out of view? EDIT to add: Forgot to mention, when a character steps out of view saying they are going for a swim, we hear splashing sound effects. But we don't see the pool. And then when the characters walk back into the scene, they are wet from having swum.
  7. Team Sarah here. I loathe Xander. Sarah sometimes lies. Xander tries to kill people, and I hate him. (I like Paul Telfer but loathe Xander. Both things can be true.)
  8. Thanks for posting. Nice interview with RhonniRose Mantilla. Article also includes quotes from Sheila Ducksworth. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features/beyond-the-gates-shaking-up-daytime-tv-sex-scene-1236298466/ quoting some excerpts: For Beyond the Gates executive producer Sheila Ducksworth, the storyline between Chelsea Hamilton (RhonniRose Mantilla) and her current love interest Dr. Madison Montgomery (Kenjah McNeil) on the CBS daytime series that launched this year is no click-bait ploy or Pride Month pandering. Instead, she says it’s emblematic of the soap’s DNA. “It was really important that we have true representation on the show, and that’s across all lines,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter. For Ducksworth that includes sexuality, but also goes beyond it.. Reflecting the times is mandatory for Beyond the Gates, Ducksworth believes. “We’re the first [soap] of the millennium, so we’re looking at things from a very contemporary point of view, and we really embrace that.” Shaking up viewers’ perspectives is intentional. “People are not put in any boxes whatsoever,” Ducksworth says of Beyond the Gates’ many characters. “Some folks who are watching may have a view of ‘that’s not what a typical Black person is or does. That’s not what a typical Latinx person is or does. That’s not what a typical white person might do or be.’ We’re looking to really flush out these characters beyond something that feels one-dimensional because nobody is one-dimensional.” (end quotes from Sheila Ducksworth) A snippet from RhonniRose: “When the casting call first came out, I knew that she was a model. I knew she was young, closer to my age. I’m 25 so she’s 23, Gen Z, an influencer and very into social media,” she explains. “I knew that she was trying to find her own way and figure out her own path. The subject of her queerness didn’t really come in until I met in person with [executive producers] Julie [Hanan Carruthers] and Sheila [Ducksworth]. And I was just so game for it.”

  12. wrong thread again, sorry
  13. Vernon, Vernon, Vernon. Your grandson is having a mental health crisis and you're telling him to forget about it.
  14. (not directed at anyone in particular, just a generalized satement) Viewers posting online: but what about that character, it hasn't been addressed! Five minutes later, during the show: it's addressed.
  15. I thought the Teriah (Mariah/Tessa) wedding on Y&R in 2022 was really great.
  16. I disagree. I think they are *intentionally* weaving in parts of the storyline gradually, different threads that do weave together, we just haven't seen the whole cloth yet. I think they intentionally didn't show the viewers what the group of men decided in Bill's office after Martin left. This is to keep the viewers wondering. I'm sure we'll find out later what they discussed.
  17. I found it through google images, it's a real place. There are estates like this in the hills by the Riviera. in the town of Saint-Paul de Vence, France https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint-Paul-de-Vence and/or the town of La Colle-sur-Loup, France https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Colle-sur-Loup images of what seems to be this estate called "Villa Domaine des Lys" in the Cannes region https://lvhglobal.com/cannes/villa-domaine-des-lys The same or similar:
  18. Original establishing shot The "Dumas" (Ashby) estate with maze and train. -- Y&R added another establishing shot: Evening at "Dumas" (Ashby) estate with the maze
  19. More from Thurs. June 26 U.S. (Wed. June 25 CDN) screencaps from Canadians Shirtless Holden is jogging in the park. Claire was outside having an anxiety attack about her father Cole's illness. Holden encounters Claire and helps her. from Canadian recap (Link) ------- (Link to tweet)
  20. That sums up what I was trying to say more succinctly! LOL.
  21. I remember a scene last year on Y&R where teens Lucy Romalatti, Johnny Abbott, and Connor Newman talked about their convoluted conception/adoption chaos, and it was absolutely no big deal. Johnny and Connor had thought they were cousins but had recently learned they were half-siblings and one met his bio-parent, and it wasn't an issue. They shared this with Lucy. They mentioned it like a "whatever". Just weird quirks shared, and laughed about, and then they went on to discuss other teen topics. No more different than mentioning as an aside whether my family lives in an apartment or a house, or what type of music my dad likes. Some might say "but where is the drama? " but I liked that they reacted like modern teens. I mean if the parents on the show want to clutch pearls, whatever, but the kids shouldn't really care in the modern age.
  22. The chandeliers have been bothering me. I mean, wtf?
