On DAYS, Elia Cantu plays Jada Hunter, who is a cop. DAYS simply put her into Sal Stowers' slot after Sal left -- a Black female cop -- but didn't write much for her. Elia has elevated the little bits that DAYS has given her. After Queen Sugar ended, and GV was back fulltime on DAYS, DAYS decided to pair Elia's Jada with GV's Eric Brady. It wasn't done organically - something was written that they both liked jogging and lived in separate rented rooms upstairs from the Brady Pub. It felt (to me) that the show decided "oh well GV worked with a Black woman on Queen Sugar, so let's write that in for Jada" -- but no real romance was written. Both actors did what they could with it. Then Jada got pregnant and Nicole got jealous, and Jada ended up choosing to abort. Many of Jada's storylines felt thrown together, (but that's been true of most of the characters on DAYS). (Elia Cantu deserves better! ) All I'm saying is -- don't judge how GV would be with a Dupree woman, based on the Eric/Jada pairing - because DAYS wasn't written well. You can get a better idea from watching Calvin/Nova on Queen Sugar.

On Queen Sugar, Greg Vaughan was almost the only white actor in a soap about a Black family. The main characters were three siblings. The lead sister was "Nova", played by Rutina Wesley: and Nova's lover was "Calvin", played by Greg Vaughan. The male sibling was named "Ralph Angel", played by Kofi Siriboe, and his girlfriend-later-wife was "Darla", played by Bianca Lawson. The other sister was "Charley", played by Dawn-Lyen Gardner, and her cheating ex-husband was "Davis", played by Timon Kyle Durrett. The other main character was their Aunt Violet, played by Tina Lifford. It was a great series and all seven seasons still stream on Hulu. Ava DuVernay created and produced the show. The Calvin and Nova romance was complicated and well done. Rutina's Nova was a feminist, bisexual, a political activist, and a writer -- a very strong, intelligent, and creative Black woman. GV's Calvin was a married cop who was leaving his wife for Nova. After a few years something from the past surfaced -- he had to face up to what he had done many years ago as a rookie cop -- he didn't act to stop someone else's racist violence when he could have. He faced up to it and served jail time -- they didn't just handwave it. Nova had other lovers while he was in jail. He came back eventually and they had a difficult reunion but love won out eventually. Rutina was the stronger character of the pair, and Calvin understood this and supported her choices in life. regarding the Memorial wall of photos and recasts: I would have preferred a photo of the OG Edward Quartermaine, David Lewis, to be on the wall. John Ingle never felt like Edward to me, and it's always weird for me to see Ingle's portrait on the memorial wall.

I just watched this. It's a collection of videos of Charlie Kirk quotes through the years. He is so full of hatred, racism, violence, and misogyny. I thought it was interesting & scary how the commenter at the start and end of the video pointed out that this is the current mainstream Republican view. Yeah. More people need to be aware of this. I saw him on Y&R. His character "Travis" was Victoria Newman's fling she met at a bar, and she told him her name was "Tori" -- because she went into the bar to have some incognito fun and let loose and she claimed to be a receptionist. She set a boundary that she would not tell him her last name. He was younger than her and a hot lay. He seemed to be a working class bartender who was soon revealed to own the bar -- but still was working class. Victoria and Travis had a lot of sex. He eventually learns Tori is Victoria Newman, and they continue their relationship secretly. Eventually Victoria learns that Travis was once a wealthy stockbroker long ago. At some point, Victoria and Travis go public with their relationship. Later, something else about his past is revealed and he leaves town. To be honest all I remember that is that his character Travis was a hot lay and a good relationship for the normally uptight Victoria Newman. He was good for her, and got her to laugh, and it was disappointing when he was written out of the show. I thought Michael Roark did a good job.
