Apparently, a lot of that was Susan Bedsow Horgan, who was said to have a deep fascination with the Irish mob and Irish lore and wanted to incorporate it into the show at the time. I know it's generally said that outside of the DID work, his work with Horgan as EP wasn't as strong as when he found his groove with Gottlieb. He's also credited Josh Griffith for helping him craft story for the soap format, but given Griffith's solo work and the atrocity he dishes out at Y&R, Malone may have been too kind...

Ken Corday interview on the move to Peacock.
Disney+ is one of the streaming success stories, but between Marvel, Star Wars, and the classic Disney library, they were too big to fail. Peacock, comparatively, is not and has never been on the same level. I'd also say we'll never see any of the ABC/Disney-owned soaps on Disney+ because they will never pay to digitize them. With Disney's already massive library, they likely see the soaps as last on that list and as content that would devalue the brand they're trying to build with that platform (fair or not). You'll never see them move GH exclusively on that service.

Y&R actress clarifies status (update page 5)
Y&R is notorious for screwing up their end credits and sometimes not fixing it for a while. It may just be down to that if MM or the show hasn't come out and said anything about her status.

Y&R actress clarifies status (update page 5)
It wasn't a pre-taped interview - MM posted a pic of the interview on Fri and had IG stories of the being on the interview set that day. https://www.instagram.com/p/ChcpSfDOaQN/

I think Khan had some valid arguments in the past that Malone likely would have been better and flourished creating a brand new soap from scratch, rather than inheriting an established one. Though, I don't think anyone can argue that he wrote with a lot of passion for both the characters he loved and the community of Llandview as a whole. RIP. In some ways, his writing matched the often gothic-aesthetic Gottlieb remade the show in after Rauch's lights literally lit the whole show on fire.

Bold actress out
Well, her primetime opportunities dried up aside from occasional guest spots. Before B&B, I think her last major recurring role was on 24, way back in 2007? I suspect that was why she came back to daytime in the first place.

GH: Actress OUT
Meh actress and meh character

Bold actress out
She'll probably be back if Brad wants to revisit the character again at some point. There aren't many options for actresses her age, and in primetime/streaming, she'd now be competing with film actresses of a higher profile and similar age group.

Bold actress out
And Brenda needs a friend when she returns.

I mean, what was she doing before B&B?

DAYS OF OUR LIVES Moves to Peacock From NBC on September 12
Honestly, it wasn't any shade or disrespect towards you @victoria foxton, you're free to post what you want. I was just mentioning how cringey I find that person's Tweet and how he seems to act as if he's somehow the barometer of taste for soaps and pop culture, and how he seems to have a flock of sheep around him that will follow his every thought (not on here, based on what I've seen Re-Tweeted on Twitter).

Anne Heche hospitalized with severe burns from car accident
Anne and Anna Stuart were so amazing together and always managed to bring new layers to Vicky and Donna's relationship. It was never the same after Anne left.

Anne Heche hospitalized with severe burns from car accident
Does anyone know the role on ATWT she originally auditioned for that kept her on P&G's radar for Vicky/Marley?

Anne Heche hospitalized with severe burns from car accident
Really sad, but I hope she can finally be at peace now. And yes, the work she did as the Hudson twins on AW was unrivaled by any of the other actresses who played those roles. She easily had the talent to be a contemporary and on the same level as say fellow soap alum, Julianne Moore, but so much got in the way of that.

DID aka Multiple Personalities on Soaps
Not a DID story, but in these riveting scenes from Search for Tomorrow, Jennifer Pace (played by Morgan Fairchild) has who she believe is the voice of John Wyatt in her head before shooting and killing Jo's sister Eunice.

So many great hits, famously for The Supremes off the top of my mind, of course.

RIP: In Memoriam Thread
What I love about her was that she just sang a song. She didn’t need to go over the top with theatrics or over the top adlibs. She sang purely from her heart and that always showed. She was also a trailblazer in her time for women in pop who didn’t want to stay in just one lane. She went from country, to films, to pop, and was also able to take advantage of the early days of MTV.

Billboard Charts
Beyoncé stopped being a singles artist since her ‘4’ album and focused primarily on being an albums artist. This is the first song in a long time she and Sony have really pushed at radio and at the (primarily gay) clubs, so it all seems intentional.

Will you pay $1.99 for Peacock? Update!!! Blockbuster sale!!! Peacock at just $1.99 a month!!
I think at a time where the country is likely headed towards another economic recession and where inflation is already problematic, shelling out an extra $4.99 a month doesn't look too appetizing for the average person. From the very sparse research that's been done on daytime audiences, they tend to be: (1). Older and thus less likely to purchase a streaming subscription or (2). Working/lower income, meaning every dollar counts for their wellbeing or they may not see adding yet another streaming subscription as necessary. If NBC/Peacock has the intention that DAYS is somehow going to create insane demand for that streaming service, that doesn't seem like a sound business strategy. We'll see of course.
