  1. The end of this montage would have been a good time to have an explosion inadvertently kill off Ashley and Derek in classic Guza style. 🙂
  2. “You’re dead to me!” Oh please, Kat. Regardless of what Eva did, she was “dead” to you the first time your elitist/classist ass laid eyes on that girl.
  3. MVJ seems to be cognizant that Leslie and Eva are true breakouts for this show:
  4. Leslie and Eva continue to prove they are the spark this show needs. They make this show infinitely better when they're featured.
  5. They have since the very first episode honestly.
  6. The last scene felt genuine, especially between the core 4 (John, Laurie, Sara, and Lecy). They were saying goodnight/goodbye again to the characters, each other, and to the audience for one final time. You can tell they really love one another and cherish what they created together - with and without the troubled Barr. And I can appreciate that life goes on as normal for these characters and there was no forced development/event that forced them all to break apart and go their separate ways. It felt like they really cared about the audience’s attachment to these characters for the past 37 years.
  7. That exit never seemed right for Liz to me (granted, she had left before and came back again to your point). In addition to Elsie's exit, it was also a rip off of Julie Goodyear's/Bet's iconic 1995 exit, but with none of the heart and bittersweet emotion of either exit, IMO.
  8. They’re dressing and styling Cady/Pamela like a low rent drag queen. Awful.
  9. Ashley and Derek are putting me into a f.ucking coma. They need to go.
  10. I said that because she often has a character reference Beyoncé, at least her first few scripts did.
  11. From what’s been described about her, it always felt like Anita mirrored Diana Ross and her career. From the girl group to the solo diva stardom. It always felt like she made her naming sing breezy pop/r&b tunes, and maybe some disco in the 70s and adult contemporary in the early 80s for good measure. But totally fair that we can necessarily align real-world trends with soap opera timelines.
  12. Was’t Anita’s prime in the 70’s and early 80’s? If Vernon met her in the 70’s and she left her career behind a few years after, she wasn’t singing New Jack Swing, lol.
  13. What’s with this lame/generic BBD/new jack swing backing track, lol. Anita was not singing that type of music in her heyday.
  14. I was referring to Dana aka Leslie, lol
  15. Eva continues to be the standout. I am willing to bet that TPTB had no idea Eva and Dana would be their breakout characters that seem to resonate most and more than the mainline Duprees.
  16. “Ratchet block party” - Kat is an elitist cow.
  17. Sorry, not liking Jon Lindstrom‘s boring ass in this lame role.
  18. Chelsea’s growing resentment of Dani is refreshing in a sea of people constantly kissing her ass.
  19. I cringe when characters go out of their way to compliment Dani. Feels so forced as if they’re telling the audience that’s how they should feel about that character too - I personally don’t.
  20. Yep. It’s also making Eva a hell of a lot more sympathetic of a character in this budding feud (in addition to the Eva actress just being a stronger and more charismatic actress). Eva is the underdog and Kat is the mean rich b!tch who thinks she’s better than the girls from across town. That part drowns out her legitimate concerns about Eva. It will be a huge kick in the gut to her if she finds out that Eva is actually Ted and Nicole’s biological child, if they do decide to go down that route.
  21. Kat may hate Eva for other reasons, but there is a classist element there too. Kat seems like the type that wouldn’t like Eva due to her socioeconomic background and her upbringing. The digs at Eva feel very visceral.
  22. How soon before Dani does something to trigger Hayley’s miscarriage?
