  1. It's absolutely true and it's going to be one hell of a fight. The voter suppression and disinformation campaigns are already in high gear. It will never stop amazing me how much power Fox "News" has over people. Already I'm seeing people say that Harris called Biden a racist (she said the opposite) while challenging his past positions on busing. They are saying she believed his accusers. Meanwhile he never denied kissing that woman on the head and such. He even promised to do better. She never said she believed TR. She said she had the right to tell her story. Ugh. This stuff drives me nuts.
  2. I think most large schools that open will be closed pretty quickly. Even the idiots here in Omaha had to admit defeat when a few teachers got it during before school conferences. It was actually kind of sad because there is a class cold war going on here. The superintendent was pretty devastated that the poorer kids in the Omaha Public School system would be denied in person learning. Meanwhile the children in the wealthier (generally republican, antimasker) suburbs get to go. So much about this is unfair and counter intuitive. Given the rate of infection in Omaha right now, I think OPS students are going to come out ahead.
  3. This is how I see it.
  4. I'm very glad you're back. This board is not the same without you. I'm hoping that as VP she can cut through it. She really would have been dragged to hell and back if she were the presidential nominee. That's not to say she shouldn't/couldn't do it. Every woman who has ever gained power had to be ambitious enough to push past the hate. Still, I'll be honest. I'm thrilled he picked a woman, but I almost wish he had picked a black man instead. At least we know it's possible to elect a black man to the highest office.
  5. I'm actually cautiously optimistic, but when Trump was elected despite having so many sexual assault allegations against him it really opened my eyes to where women still stand in society. Obviously, black women have it even harder, but maybe this will end up being a step in the right direction. I guess we have to root for Chinese interference to combat Russian interference. It's unreal that this is where things stand.
  6. This is wonderful news. I find it laughable that the far left is melting down. Now we just have to hope that the the incredibly amount of misogyny in this society doesn't sink us.
  7. Just get it done, man. I know this pick may be more important than usual, but it's past time.
  8. If you click through you see the allegations against Dershowitz. Unbelievable. I always kind of respected his willingness to go to the mat to give even the worst a fair trial. This whole situation is full of corruption from the FBI, lawyers, so many people. Sadly, I think Clinton, Prince Andrew, and AD are all guilty as alleged. In the case of BC it really breaks my heart to believe he is capable of this, although weren't there rumors that he got a teenager girl pregnant back in Arkansas?
  9. I wish John Lewis could have lived just four more months. He deserved to see Trump defeated. At least he seemed to have faith it would happen. The part about an October surprise that the media will cover without bothering to vet is spot on.
  10. fingers crossed that you have tested negative. Let us know when you can.
  11. I really feel bad for employees that have to deal with these idiots. It's infuriating how entitled these folks are acting.
  12. I will take the vaccine wherever it comes from (I won't be first in line if it's Russia, I admit), but I wonder if it's going to be like the flu vaccine. Is it going to be something we get every year and it's a variable efficacy rate each year? Will the vaccine even last a whole year or will it need to be administered more often because the immunity doesn't last? Fingers crossed that we even get one at all.
  13. This is so f*cked up.
  14. Selfish my ass! No. She is being very unselfish by trying to save us from a generation of SCOTUS decisions that are out of touch with what the majority of the people want. No one could really blame her if she wanted to retire and spend the rest of her life in comfort with her family. Thank God this woman is made of steel. Please, all that is holy let her hang on until January.
  15. RBG cannot catch a break. Damn it all. This is savage and I love it. Again giving LP minimal credit for being decent.
  16. Looks like another vaccine is in stage 3 trials.
  17. I wonder if this means we'll end up needing more than one shot a year or if the disease will continue to mutate and we'll need a new vaccine every year or so. That's for sure. Things are going to get hellish once schools open if we don't get some vaccine or therapeutic that works. Is there any time his followers don't look like hateful idiots? IJS!
  18. Yes, I'm really starting to believe it we might be coming to the end of this madness and can start the rebuilding process. I also like the sound of Bidens plans for an infrastructure/jobs bill. A lot of people have promised it, but I think Biden has the connections and relationships to get it done.
  19. Ivanka with those Goya beans has to be one of the most surreal things I have ever seen. I'm hoping we are at maximum crazy and things will start to calm down. I don't know how we can go on like this, but I've been saying that for nearly four years.
  20. This seems like hopeful news on the vaccine front. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/07/14/moderna-says-its-coronavirus-vaccine-trial-produced-robust-immune-response-in-all-patients.html
  21. RBG has been hospitalized with some kind of infection.
  22. ^ Well, she sure owned the libs.😂
  23. Yes. I have to remember that I am in no way his target audience. My vote can't be lost. And I'm with you. The fewer evens he does the better. At least he has the good sense to wear a mask.
  24. I'm skeptical, but issues like this seem laughably quaint. I miss the days issues like American manufacturing jobs seemed important to debate. Right now I'm much more interested in stopping the death and chaos.
