I had the exact same thought! 😆 Hey, I admire the people who dislike him but truly don't wish harm on anyone. For my part, I was dancing in my kitchen last night.

Thank you Carl. I found that article really enlightening. I'm in a liberal bubble more than ever since the pandemic. I have noticed that there are far few Trump signs in Omaha this year. Maybe those people will just stay home. I think it also helps that Biden is Catholic and this is a very Catholic state. They may have felt the need to vote against some one like Bernie, but with Biden they'll sit it out. I hope anyway.

I think she is just a typical gold digger who was thrown in way past her depth. I agree with her on the Christmas stuff. I don't give a f*ck, especially given everything else 45 has done. I would say the same about any holiday decorations that people made such a big deal of (although her choices were strangely Gothic). After listening to the transcripts, I agree with her friend. She probably does care to some extent about the children, but she doesn't understand policy. She certainly doesn't understand the difference between Obama's boarder policy and Trump's. Hell, neither does a good chunk of the population that has a better grasp of English (I'm not insulting her. I don't know her native language either). She's as subject to the mass disinformation campaign and cult as all these other people who are going along with pure evil. Many of them are presumably much smarter and certainly better educated. Looking at Kellyanne and Kayleigh and all those generals, lawyers and members of congress specifically that have worked for/with Trump and enabled him. Also, I don't feel sorry for her. She could learn and do better if she chose to.

He didn't because he IS a white supremacist. That's one of the few things he's relatively honest about. He openly loves cruelty. I grant you it's astonishing in an American President. Has anyone American leader so openly hated most of their own people before? I can't think of anyone. "We" basically elected a sadist.

How the f*ck can anyone be undecided, I ask you? Seriously, what more could anyone possibly need to know?

I couldn't watch it. Everyone said Trump would go after Biden's children and given that he has lost two of them I just couldn't. Even though I wasn't exactly gung ho for Joe in the beginning, I'm thankful that he is taking on this burden (and what else can we call it at the age of 78) to help save our country.

I can't watch this debate live. Trump is a slime bucket and has no limits.

Thank you. I am definitely feeling the anxiety the closer we get to the election. I just have to stay off Twitter for a few months. It feeds my fear.

@DRW50 I find it terrifying. Then people say "well, the military won't allow it". Really? That's a pretty vague assurance. Who in the military will stop him and how? They might not physically fight for Trump, but they won't stop a bloodless coup. As far as I know there isn't even a process for them to do so. I may not like Ayn Rand, but she had a point when she said "It's not who will give me permission, it's who will stop me" (paraphrase") . I haven't seen a lot of people stopping Trump so far. I'd sure like to know what the plan is to stop him if there is one. I hope the people who matter have come up with one.

Looks like the twitter progressives have come for the LDS because of Mitt Romney. It never seems to cross their minds how hypocritical they are. Going after a group because of the actions one person takes is bigotry even if you don't like the group. SMH.

I think Biden will certainly win the debates, but so did Hillary. Hell, so did the primary candidates he debated. What actually logical points did Trump make? He basically just stood there and called people names and that worked. I think it's possible that JB is folksy enough himself that that won't work on him.

I'm guessing it won't be quite as bad as the Handmaid's Tale, but you really don't want to be a poor woman going forward. Plus it's bad for women generally because it signals to both men and society as a whole that we don't belong to ourselves.

This is one more blow in a horrific year. All day long people have been wishing each other happy new year. Then to listen to the Rosh Hashana services tonight when I knew most of the people "there" didn't even know what had happened was especially galling to me. Just the sheer optimism some people have amazes me and I certainly do not share it, not even be for this calamity. Still, Biden winning does absolutely matter to the nation. It matters to the Muslims who can't have family visit, to the refugees who can't get in, to the women and children in camps on our border, where god alone knows what offenses against humanity are being committed. I could go on and on, but this is no time to give up.

This was on CNN's blog. Not sure I trust them to stick to it: Here is a list of four Republicans senators who have said they will oppose a vote before the election: Maine Sen. Susan Collins told the New York Times, “I think that’s too close, I really do." Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski in September said, "Fair is fair," and she would not vote to replace RBG before the election." South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham in October 2018 said, "If an opening comes in the last year of President Trump's term, and the primary process has started, we'll wait to the next election. And I've got a pretty good chance of being the Judiciary [Chairman]. Hold the tape." Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley said in July he would follow the Biden rule, "I'm just following what was established by the Biden Rule in 1986 and then emphasized by him in 1992... They set the pattern. I didn't set the pattern. But it was very legitimate that you can't have one rule for Democratic presidents and another rule for Republican presidents."

My guess is she still felt healthy enough to do her job. Who could have imagined the hell that was coming our way? If you think many people here did, go look back at this thread circa fall 2016. I remember being so sure people could not possibly be stupid or evil enough to vote in Trump.

That was one of my first thoughts as well. I feel bad for the upcoming generation of women. I am horrified that the worst president in modern times will shape the court so profoundly. I wonder what effect this will have on climate change and the environment as well. Plus, I would almost bet he's going to pick another middle aged white man.

I think they will, but we'll see. My husband doesn't think it can be done. I know some of our friends here suffer from anxiety and depression. Please, take care of yourselves. We can and will get through this.
